Segwit is a malleability fix, plus other fixes first, done through a soft fork. To be accepted or not, the Core developers only laid out the plan.

I believe my response to his remarks were measured and reasonable, considering I was being instructed to "grow my personality"; if admittedly peppered with a little sarcasm. If I'm also to make a conclusion, it is that in addition to perceptive observations and analysis, this thread also displays an unhealthy degree confirmation bias, condescension, and also aggression towards non ingroup posters.
