My brother had invested in bitcoin where market price has down to 3K usd. Seeing the current market and the needs arisea, my brother had cash out already and I am not surprise that he trippled his money investment. Good for.him but I think it must be hold still if I were on his side. Your brother might just be interested in trading, and not interested in Bitcoin itself as a technology. So in this case, he probably made the right choice because I think tripling your money in such a short timespan(3 months?) is good enough.

You regretted doing it. So I assume you now know what to do next time knowing how much your brother made. Just take note of the risks you're taking. While Bitcoin can 3x in no time, it can also crash 3x or even higher in no time.

This is mainly a Bitcoin forum, so we can say with confidence that majority here are Bitcoin enthusiasts(probably besides the people solely focused on bounties), so you're mostly going to find 3 types of people:

1. Holders: People who hold Bitcoin
2. Traders: People who don't have Bitcoin temporarily because they sold and are planning on buying back lower
3. Those degeneratespeople who only hold shitcoins from bounty campaigns

Users have different price targets to be reached, if what he has aimed is reached cashing out seems to be the right choice. There are users who expected big out of greed and has lost big missing the chance to make use of the growth that yields the profit.

People who prefer holding used to fix time period and price target, here user will get good return after specific number of year, in between if there is good growth in the price that's been predicted to be reached after a specific number of year then it is good to cash out.

Getting the investment triple in less than five months time is not a simple thing to achieve through any form of investment. This way I too prefer cashing out of the profit leaving the capital investment which could once again grow over the years.

If he had invested money for just doing trading i-e invest in bitcoins when price is low and cash out it when price cross peak value that was set in his mind then that's over and was simple plane. But there are large people who want to play in bitcoins for long term and just not seeing to 5-4K$ benefit but they are thinking so far bitcoins in 50K$ which is possible in future.

I'm not afraid of investing on Bitcoin.. but I'm run out cash! so good for your brother tripled its investment. have you asked him if he is waiting for Bitcoin below the current prices to buy?

Don't worry about him and don't show any interest to his money although you are brothers but it should be separated from being brothers. He did a good job for selling at high price so just be happy for him.

If you regret not investing at lows, there's still a chance to do it and that is now.

We are in a bitcoin forum and everyone here has a different taste about investing and taking risk. Majority isn't afraid of investing and if you don't hold any bitcoin now, decide for yourself.

The most common scenarios I see in the world of crypto:

a) if price increases, "damn I forgot to buy when bitcoin was still on $3,000" - but the thing here is, they are really expecting for the price to become much lowered before will make an entry.

b) if price decrease, "damn I forgot to sold out during $15,000, what will I do now" - but the thing here is, they are expecting $50,000+.

No one really knows what will happen next. Don't set too much target if the purpose is to take advantage of the price increase then trying to make a re-entry later on. Just do HODL, literally without touching or selling it, if the purpose is to risks it on your precious stash for a long period of time.

Honestly, your brother did a wonderful job by selling the bitcoin. He already tripled his money, it's enough! Look at the market now, BTC price is falling down! Yesterday it was going to hit 14K USD, and now BTC seems going under 10K USD! If BTC price bounces back again at 15K USD, your brother should not be regret, because he has tripled money from his investment. This is not the right time to invest in Bitcoin, the bear market was! your brother is really lucky to buy when the price is down. but selling it right now is not a good idea

To each his own. There's absolutely nothing wrong with tripling one's investment and walking away. I personally think we're going much higher over the next several years -- which is why most of my bitcoins are in cold storage -- but it's a free market. If he wants to lock in his dollar gains, he should.

I always feel regret looking back at how much I spent or sold at much lower prices.

I never regretted investing in Bitcoin, but I was also lucky with timing. I never lost any of my initial investment in the 2014 and 2018 corrections. I'm sure it's different for people who bought closer to the tops and had to wait out the bear markets.

It was a smart move by your brother, as traders perspective, your brother not might be a holder.

Nothing to regret, you missed one train then wait for the other one and this time work as a team with your brother. A team work/decision brings fruitful results, if not always then its most of the time.

As an example, I and my brother working together. Our capital is combined together, we take decision together by putting logic on the table. When I fall in greed trap my brother pulls me back and vice versa.

I believe your brother knows what he is doing.  Tripling his investment is a great profit.  He invest to have a profit not to use the technology Bitcoin is offering so you cannot stop him even if you advise him to do so.  As for your regret of not investing in Bitcoin,  just let it go.  You won't turn back time, so next time,  if ever you see a window of opportunity to invest in Bitcoin do not hesitate.

Its still not too late for you to jump in as speculators see trend will continue till end of this year or perhaps till early next year. You may see dips like what happened today where from $12,800 USD, BTC price dropped to $10,850 USD, that's 15% drop but its still ok to enter as this usuallt happens after a rally or a bull run. You can also wait when the market corrections happen.

He made a good exit in the market making a huge profit, that’s why the price of bitcoin continues to down because of so many profit takers. Well, i still hold bitcoin and I still believe that it can rise again. I have no regrets, this is not the peak price yet so don’t panic at all.

It's actually one of the most sane things to do if one is to profit. 300% increase in investment is no joke, and you can't find it anywhere else but bitcoin and crypto. I have actually done the same countless of times and feel no regret whatsoever even if the price is to kick higher than what I sold it for. Profit is profit, no matter how small or big. The reason why a lot of people lose a lot of money in the scene is because they are too greedy and are waiting to be at the top, when in fact they can instantly cash out and just wait for the price to tank and free themselves on all of the anxiety.

Anyone buying bitcoin in the first quarter of 2019 made a x3 profit within 4 months. And it's a very wise decision to cashout. As we've seen bitcoin rise and fall, even if it rises to say 50K, it would at least fall back to 40K. That's talking about possibilities but it may also again fall to 4K. So, cashing out your profit is never a bad decision.

Investing in various things, not limiting to crypts helps a lot in your personal treasure. Do not limit the purchase of BTC, invest in Stock Exchange, banks, trade, robberies and etc.
