It was definitely entertaining but not enough to get attention in gambling industry because it's only popular in few countries as part of their culture, mainly in Japan. Unlike other contact sports that is known all over the world which seems more enjoyable to watch and competing in different countries.

Kind of restricted largely to Japanese audience and does appeal to some persons within that circle.It is entertaining no doubt,but it is not such a big player in games, I doubt if there are big leagues/seasons or competition that can draw enough international attention. I did not see any threads related to SUMO WRESTLING and I have been seeing that SUMO WRESTLING is a good sport. Every players are eager to win and the results could.be predictable unless those who had made some fights already and becoming a veteran. Yet, they too still lose.

The sports has lots of excitement especially that the players had different approach, styles, technique and ability. The better also strategy that a player will make the better chance of winning the match.

Sumo wresting is famous in Japan mostly, because it is their traditional sports, and mostly people don't know about it very well, the reason we don't know how to play it that's why you will see only few people do betting in sumo wresting on online. But yeah it is entertaining sports, whenever i see healthy wrestlers i feel enjoy.    

Not that many gamblers are actually aware that this is a sport similar conventional games like basketball and football. I really think it deserves more attention. It shows how plus sized guys can be extremely flexible and agile. Though it really doesn't have that much following especially in western countries where pro wrestling and mma takes most of the attention.

It was and still remains an interesting game. It’s the most talked about betting game in the japan country. I visited some years ago and I witnessed excitement of citizens as they participated in watching the game, it was an intriguing site to behold.

I learnt the participation level has really dropped but they are still working on reviving the game. If it’s possible for SUMO wrestling game to be integrated into blockchain then it might be a very good idea considering that a very high number of japans are gamblers and many would be glad to have this on casinos. But I am very sure that would be quite impossible, since some games are best as off line games.

It is not a game playable by everyone,its only for the sumo wrestelers for that they need to keep their body in perfect condition to play.Even myself not much sure about that games but watched some videos related to that and even some movies based on that game so it is really entertaining to watch but for playing nah.

I've seen this fight in a movie but I'm not really fun of it as I haven't seen it in personal, in our country no games like this, I think it's popular in Japan.  Honestly, I don't know that there are sportsbook who are having a line for this kind of game but love to see some feed back here.

I think you are talking about professional wrestling, it is entertainment and it was fun to watch when you were a kid. The reason you do not see sumo wrestling outside of Japanese television is that it is regional bound and you cannot garner a larger audience and hence there is no known television deals, I remember ESPN covering the sport for a short period 25 years back and then i have seen some in TEN sports when they launched .

Tt is a full contact sport and the combatants have a life on its own and it is interesting to learn about their life and how they maintain their life style. I have seen some documentaries regarding their life and that is my only experience with the sport  .

SUMO is definitely entertaining and of course could be added to betting sites. The main reason it is not that widely integrated into betting platforms is the same why it is not seen on TV often. The  geographical area where it is really popular is  limited. In Japan betting on the SUMO is a common, and actually has the same problems as in other sports - some wrestlers involved into illegal betting on own matches.

I am not aware there was ever a drop in the participation. SUMO wrestling is a highly reverenced game in Japan, and it’s always a time for muscular wrestlers to show their strength. So I believe not even the wrestlers of the speculators will ever want to see the end of the game

I believe there will always be a time for upgrade, maybe by integrating it into blockchain and creating an online version but I really don’t know how possible this can ever be. I have always been a great fan of the game and I am 100% sure that I would be the first to register on the platform if it ever becomes an online game, but how exactly can this be played as an online game? It can be like that it's easy to corrupt the match as it's only two persons who can decide whether to fight 100% or can sell the game and let the opponent to win the game, there's no impossible if the type of gamblers will be facilitated by the big groups or mafia behind.

It is entertaining, but the same isn't that good for betting. In SUMO Wrestling it is not that easy predictable and I've a thinking that it is played mostly by the people of China. They might be informative about the players and their potential which is good to select the right odds for betting.  As a form of entertainment it is good to watch along with friends.

Just curious as I understand that this game is a cultural native from Japan, but moving on with OP I also think that it can't get larger audience as things can be manipulated along the way there's possibilities that one player can easily be beaten by it's opponents if there's a huge money involves.

I think that doesn't happen in this sport, even in all sports matches there have been cases of bribery between players. btw, this sport is not very popular in the world, I myself rarely see this sport contested like in the Olympics, but I don't know the 2020 summer Olympics whether SUMO wrestling will be contested because next year's Olympics will take place in Japan.

Corruption is shady on these type of entertainment games and I doubt there will be any clear explanation if such accusation raises against the sumo wrestling team. I don't think it will attract more people outside Japan. It only happens there and if people doesn't know the mechanics of that game or who has greater odds of winning then they won't have an interest to bet on sumo wrestling.

I know, Sumo wrestling is a sport of Japanese culture and is not suitable for betting. Yes, sports such as boxing today are suitable for betting, but Sumo wrestling is a sport played for a culture, not for betting.

I used to love watching sumo. They used to broadcast it on Eurosport but it's not that popular at all.
