You just hit the point, there is definitely no specific time frame for alt season to come. Moreover, altcoins will only experience uptrend generally when bitcoin moves sideways in price for sometime, hence altcoin holders just need patience.

At first, in 2019, Bitcoin increased almost 4 times, and also ethereum soared in price four times, but at the same time altcoin was not improved.  It makes me nervous, and so now I don’t see altcoin as a profitable investment.

As you said, ETH soared by 4X in 2019 so it means alts also made an improvement just that we were to much optimistic about how big altcoins are going to make it when the crypto market was to turn around in a positive direction. This did not happen in the way we all expected which has made it seem as if alts didn't make any movement at this time. ETH was around 80$ in december last year and now over 200$ which is good for some of us who bought around that price.

Altcoins and bitcoin usually move in opposite directions. Bitcoin rises, altcoins fall; and vice versa. There are very limited waves in which bitcoin and altcoins move upwards or downwards in same directions. Such waves are very rare. As I observed over few recent months, altcoins will make us surprise with their coming bull runs.

There are many factors to talk about when the market will increase in value.  Certainly the Altcoin Pump event like the beginning of 2018 will not happen because the market has become smarter and pump groups and dumps may not exist anymore.  The problem is that we have a lot more Altcoin than at the beginning of 2018, almost twice as much.  It is difficult to bring them all up.  Only the best projects and large communities can bring the value of the project back to the fastest.

I once heard some analyst say the altcoins will pick up once Bitcoin stabilizes. I haven't seen that happening for the past few days that bitcoin seems to be stable in price. Frankly and straight to the point, for every altcoins there are two things involved

1. Is to maintain a good price during dip and bull season then continue to exists

2. Second is to maintain a good price before vanishing and getting delisted

Those 2 scenarios apart; an altcoin bull run is rare to predict

You need to understand that bull and bear periods are cyclical, so tou can periodically buy low and sell high if you have enough patience. This strategy is effective in any market, is it bear or bull. But it's easier and faster to make ROI is bull market, but in bear market its still working well, but just a bt slower.

When panic happens, everybody starts selling, the price keeps dropping and dropping to the point where whales start buying again and the price increase again, people starting FOMO and everything.repeats
