I never download any app of any kind of new coin, it's very risk
Malicious apps can stolen your data and hack your wallets, money, e-mails etc

Only trust in apps with some time on the market and trusted by real people ou the one with open code (open source), at least you can check the code of the community will do for you

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

I am not discouraging hunters to join bounty campaigns that requires you to download their app or wallet. This is just a friendly reminder to everyone that we should be careful since there have been some malicious apps used to collect personal information and steal funds from mobile/pc. There were also instances where hackers were able to exploit the vulnerabilities of some apps.

If you still wish to continue and download their app, at least take some measures like not storing your private keys/seed phrase in your phone/pc to protect your funds.

You can also read guides posted by some of the forum members here.

Have a safe bounty hunting!

Sometime, I wish mobile device like android have some kind of virtual machine software to act as a sandbox to contain or test any unverified/untrusted source just like in PC.
Save me a hassle to test it first in my android emulator (BlueStacks, Nox, MEmu,...).

I don't think the projects that I join will cheat users. Before downloading, we also need to find out what kind of application it is. If it's a tool, I think bounty hunters won't need it because it's not related to payment and distribution of tokens.
Anyway, analyze and explore the project carefully before working for them to get certain safety.

I always refrain myself to exclude the "download app" campaign. Recently there was news about asking private keys and API keys by that app which then stolen the hard earned crypto from the wallets.
In this everywhere scammer world, we have to be very careful for doing any action.
Thanks for the advise.

We know that most of the bounty campaigns are fake. Only they want their intention to be fulfilled. With the bounty campaign offering they will drive you to sign up their website or certain app download or anything else. In this way they collect your personal data and finally manipulating this they will steal your token by hacking your ETH account. So, be careful guys.

Used to there was plenty of altcoins which have wallet apps required if we want to store it for offline purpose and indeed some of them are quite safe because there was no malware available and some of untrust altcoins wallet have malware into the wallet and more careful indeed necessary to avoid being hacked and before download the particular wallet i think find some informations regarding it would be good

I don't see anything wrong with bounties asking participants to download wallet app ,you want to participate in the bounty ? You have to download the bounty project wallet ,if you don't want mobile wallet then download the windows wallet
The only thing that is wrong here is; seeing the bounties hunters downloading potentials fishing links or bait links which will be to the detriment of that Hunter. Project wallets that are legitimate are worthy to be downloaded by hunters and not that of the virus type or worm type. For bounty hunters, be wise to what you download on your desktop or phone because somebody ask you to do.

I understand your sentiment but i don't see anything wrong with downloading app if it's one of the requirement of a bounty. Everyone should do a thorough research before participating in any bounty so i don't think any reasonable project will steal hunters data neither will they be affected by virus.

I really don't trust  newly generated wallets of some ICO projects. When participating in their bounties i do download their wallets but never store my funds on them. The only cryptocurrency wallet i trust is blockchain app wallet. That's one of the oldest cryptocurrency wallet.

The information is very useful and of course, it reminds me. Sometimes I follow a project and never care that the Wallet app is safe or not. With this information it certainly makes me be vigilant. What I experienced is that the Wallet app is sometimes very difficult to access.

I really do not like the projects in which it is necessary to pass KYC and download applications. That worries me a lot. I try not to participate in such projects suspecting them of fraud.

Good one. Youre opinion is right. Some of project required us to download their apps, but sometimes we not really care those apps. They required that rules for payment and also promote their application to other so they will got good rating. But at this case im always uninstall application after im get my payment.

If they have been audited by the Apple app security team then it will likely be free of malicious code. However, Google Play have much less stringent controls, and numerous phisher and data-mining apps have found their way onto the marketplace.

Do not download .APK files either, if they can't even be approved to the Google Play Store then you know something is up.

One should not download the apps blindly into their system or mobile. You must have a good antivirus in your computer or mobile that can warn you if find any vulnerability in the app but personally I avoid to participate in such bounties where wallet downloading is required.  If you still want to download app always download the app from the official website to avoid hacking. Apart from this without having a knowledge of official app one should not try it.

Downloads are detrimental most times because some malware might be infused into the app. Not just app download gifs or docs on telegram is harmful because some virus might be contained that can have access to your device internal storage.

Thanks for the info it will help alot of bounty hunters, yeah its true there is alot of bounty needs to download there apps or wallet to get your reward to thier bounty and its ask for permissions to access contacts, camera, location etc and its not safe. Better to choose a good bounty to make your effort in doing task become worth it, think before you click.
