no and noone should be mad, those are his coins and he has right to sell them

All people will be damaged who invested any money in this market.
the price drop won't last long, I believe it would quickly rise back to normal
in fact it would confirm satoshi existence and a good way to re-distribute bitcoin

He/she/they have every right to dump every single one of the bitcoins if Satoshi wants to. It's a free and open market.

I hope they do.  Cool
Convince him then. Best of luck.

Yo, satoshi, if you sell all of your coins, John McAfee will have to eat his own pp on cam in 1 year.  Cool He also claims you are a like mexican guy or something a dark skinned guy. I am pretty sure you are two ladies. One from Canada, one from UK.

Why would you take the freedom of somebody in selling their coins. And that was created by him also. So he will think twice on selling it for it to have a bigger value in the future. But selling all his coins could lead to the destruction of btc. Not exactly destruction but this will contribute to it since he has a lot of holdings on this coin.

the people behind bitcoin have much more then 1 m coins as they buy them slowly as they grew in price , they need this money for other operations ,and other things as the people of wiki leaks hinted that they need huge amount of money to run this giant operation,

because wiki leaks this is the biggest leaks done in the entire history...

IN ICO phase one of the recommendations was to make sure the team was well known before buying, as an anonymous team would indicate suspicion. Yet somehow Satoshi team escaped this suspicion even though nobody knows who they are.

He/she/they have every right to dump every single one of the bitcoins if Satoshi wants to. It's a free and open market.
This of course has always been my position on this topic. Why should I care if he is fed up with hodling? I mean, at a point he is going to want to offload some. In fact, Satoshi will be a fool not to profit from his own invention. Charlie Lee (the Litecoin dude) also did same and sold an appreciable quantity of his hodlings at almost ATH. But the market concern should be that Satoshi doesn't sell off his 1million holding at a go as that will invariably destroy the crypto market with a deep crash.

I hope they do.  Cool

Quite a few people believe it was a team instead of one person. I haven't research this far, but I trully believe that one gifted person alone, can actually manage to create a technological breakthrough that can change the lives of everyone. I believe that Satoshi is a single person that created everything with his own brilliant mind.

Patterns and technological advances that big corporations claim as their own, are usually build by one individual alone. His contract though, on every situation, claims that any breakthrough he achieves using company assets or data, is owned by the company. Scientists get paid a lot though for this reason. Although they miss the glory in most fields of science and technology this way and their name stays in the shadows.

I really hope Satoshi is alive and kicking and watching his child becoming what he always hoped for.
I read quite a few of his posts in bitcointalk and I only hold admiration for him.

If he is alive and decides to sell, he deserves the wealth. Kudos to him. Still it would have huge implications on price of Bitcoin.

The bitcoin is not hold by a single person and there thousands of bitcoin holders and maybe satoshi have greater percentage of its holdings and if he will sell all his coin then additional dump will take place causing the bitcoin price abrupt fall down, as for me its not good for us but still acceptable because crypto is having no central control  and that is its reality.

What if bitcoin hits a low then. Your bitcoin payments will be high.

I think it will be a good chance to buy more bitcoins. That is if you have the fiat to do so. (I do not) You are right it won't last very long.

I hope they do.  Cool

I also think it's a team but I don't think it matters. It does not affect anyone other than the fact it was created. We have a lot to be thankful for.

Nope. It would finally put any doubts to bed but I don't believe it will ever happen. The idea of someone like Satoshi handing over his wee driving licence to sign up to Coinbase is about as likely as Donald Trump organising a photo shoot with him wearing a nappy and playfully wrestling leathermen in mountains of bubbles.

Perhaps, or it was a private decision taken years ago, maybe tied to the disappearance of the character. What decision? Losing the wallet private keys on purpose (burned coins). Or perhaps its in a time capsule of sorts. Could be a grand master plan, someone could suddenly become world richest person...

Whatever the case if there is no turning back then it might be for the better. Just look at all the drama with the faketoshis. Would there be friction with the current developers?.

Nice one! I hope he or she or they won't.  Grin

And I guess he never will. He has left the Bitcoin world. He was not after the value of Bitcoin after all. He was after the fulfillment of his vision, which is to provide humanity with a great alternative currency. A currency that represents freedom more than anything else. I don't think Satoshi Nakamoto is even tracking the updates and news right now.

First of all
Why would you want the downfall of the very product you made ?
It is already helping millions all around the world and even
  providing jobs for some.
Why would you do that in one go? To make people associated
  with it suffer ?

Secondly
We don't even know if real Satoshi actually holds Bitcoins! , It is
just an assumption that it's his wallet .

  Maybe he doesn't actually?

the difference between Satoshi and you is that Satoshi sees bitcoin as a currency which is there to act as a payment system but you see bitcoin as something you only "buy and sell" with fiat and probably only see the monetary gains in it and nothing more. and that is why you concern yourself with questions like this one and waste your time speculating about it!

in other words if some day Satoshi decides to come back, he won't come back to "sell" his bitcoins for fiat because that doesn't make any sense. he would come back to use it as a currency to make transactions.

Obviously people will be mad including me. If he do that even his right to do so we will surely get mad specially if we invested a lot for this coin. Just imagine that you sold your house so that you could buy Bitcoin with very expensive value then suddenly the price of Bitcoin will dump. No crypto users will going to understand that except for those that don't have Bitcoin.

If that happened, supposing he was from the USA and legal..and paid the 25% capital gains tax in Millions. With also possibly state and local taxes.

He would most definitely for his trouble get an audit by the IRS.

Also, the beginning blockchain stuff he had addresses on would be gleaned for dark web stuff

his life would be frigging over because I'm sure he spent some kind of BTC for pizza or stuff at 10,000 BTC or so. But indeed a 2009 BTC on the blockchain

you made say for 2c and you bought a 1,000 TV with such. You would owe the IRS $999.98 to the IRS as 'capital gains' tax.

He would be BEYOND HOSED, again, even if he tried to do the right thing, and get out of the whole works, legal like he won the lottery.

They would still come after his ass. Sad Hate to say it, but with billions and blockchain to look at it all, it would be just too, too tempting for the IRS and others to kick his ass.

Not sure, I could be MORE sure about this.

I never bought bitcoins or sold them for fiat.

How did I obtain some? Playing a game called huntercoin, someone 1 gave me a life .001 btc at the time, I turned that life into 4000 or 5000 lives, exchange the huc for btc, I then gambled and owned all the casinos.
I also got paid from working for a altcoin, for being a store manager for a altcoin, which I would exchange some of that altcoin for bitcoin.

How did I spend some? Computer, laptop, clothes, med`s, vape, vape juice, food, bunch of shit on amazon(when that gyftcard site use to allow it, although this is almost as bad as selling for fiat as you are buying representations of fiat)

amount of fiat used: 0
amount of fiat gained: 0 (I could have some, I rather not)

I am the one who preaches the first sentence of the whitepaper brother.

why would anybody get mad because of something like that?
obviously that will never happen because of variety of reasons including the size of it, ... but even if it did, people should be happy that one of the biggest nonsense discussions would end for good about how much bitcoin Satoshi has and what happens if he sells. it is like the bandaid that you pull off once and for all instead of poking at it every day. and on top of that it introduces a small portion of the supply back into circulation again which will again address another nonsense discussion about "is there enough bitcoin for everyone"!
