For holding go with the most secure stuff. BTC and ETH make the most sense. Anything smaller than XRP and you risk being a victim of market manipulations and almost sure to lose your capital longterm.

When it comes to long term holding the best coins to hold is the popular coins, like what you said btc and eth should be included on our list since these coins are the top crypto and proven to be profitable for long term holding. Plus its better to have another source of income so we dont expect too much with our investment even it takes longer its fine because its a spare money.
