Since many members keep complaining about not being able to buy gears directly from Bitmain due to items being sold-out most of the time, thought I would share with you this tweet from bitmain

We are pleased to announce that the #Antminer 17 Series and #AntminerS9k is back in stock! The 17 Series includes the powerful #AntminerS17Pro #AntminerS17 & #AntminerT17. Selling time begins on 07.24 19:00 (GMT+8). Visit https://shop.bitmain.com  for up to date prices!

source https://twitter.com/Antminer_main

Time is GMT+8 ( China time) , if you are not good with calculating time you can use this > https://time.is/GMT+8 and wait for 19:00 today (24/7/2019).

notice that usually these open for couple minutes and that's all about it, so if you want to buy some gears get your stuff ready in time.

If these sell out as fast as they have in the past at these prices, then people are fomoing over gear. No logic to jumping in on these items at that price. Really just set the bar for career resellers when they receive their July August batches.

It is tempting to sell everything.

It’s just about all paid for.

I could get over 50k

But I am a miner.

I am up to 835+55= 890th btc

And

11gh + .2 = 11.2 gh ltc.

Would have preferred flat diff and flat price longer then oct 2018 to April 2019.

But it is what it is.

I clear 265th for me with about 150usd  power cost

I clear 2.95 gh ltc for me with about 30 usd power cost.    So  I am doing well.

2400 usd monthly net.

Agreed. I would most certainly not pay these prices , but if i had to bet I am willing to bet that they will be sold out real quick , there are always people who would be willing to pay premium for gears directly from bitmain simply because it's pretty hard to find a legit reseller and it is more convenient to buy the gear directly from the manufacturer.

The only reasonable price to me is the S9k as it is cheaper on bitmain than on the chinese market almost 100$ cheaper , aside from that all the other gears are over priced and one can probably find them for cheaper from resellers.

I was tempted to go get a 40th for now delivery, even did the math for the premium compared to waiting for November and was at a profit, but luckily for this forum I had the chance to check previous selling prices and discussion and realised I would have made a terrible mistake.

when do you think the next-gen miners will be available for pre-order? easter? s19's first batch here i come  Grin

All depends on the market and chip manufacturing technology. I believe that S17 has the maximum efficiency you can have from 7nm. Bitmain would hardly invest any money to R&D for more efficient miners when the current generation sells out in less than 10 minutes.

Well ! it didn't take too long to get the answer to your question, there you go

everything except for S17 and  T17 November batch is sold out , I for fun watched how it went, every miner was sold out in less than an hour , the S17 pro version didn't last more than 10 mins , the S9ks  lasted for couple hours, so this got me thinking about 2 possibilities.

1- People are stupid enough to pay that much
2- Bitmain had just a couple of them, maybe 50-100 people bought them and that's all about it

or a mixture of both , this of course excludes that fact that those who bough at these prices are not stupid and in couple months from now the laugh will be on those who didn't buy including you and myself  Grin.

ordered a few of the S9K's when they were initially released along with S9SE paid $259 each(still waiting delivery)  this batch now $478 Huh Sad  what the hell?  still not a big fan of integrated PSU on most of these newer units offered by manufacturers as they not selling/listing any PSU spares.  in my experience the PSU is normally the weak link, what use it it if you have a machine that costs thousands of dollars sitting on the shelf without the option of repair.

edit*  just saw they now offering PSU replacement for S and T series............hmmmm!!!

just ordered 1 for  my 17's  and 1 for my  15's

about 230 + 90 = 320 usd

due in 20 days.

Some free advice  if you have s17 ,t17 ,s15 or t15 in bulk  buy some of the psu's while you can.

these psus were the best thing to buy that went on sale yesterday.

BTW all miners are sold out.

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/14ho8SEqn3hV3EFsBQgCFxWPjoVBYEkikP

that is my payment above.

I will attempt to do some checks on it to see if bitmain sales can be figured out via blockchain analysis

Glad you got yourself some of those scarce PSUs, you sure will need them.

As far as attempting to track BTC transactions to figure out the sales, I say it's not the best idea,  it's technically hard to do, and even if you manage to do it it won't give you any good estimates since many people might have paid using Wire transfer or another crypto currency, remember the coupon-method I used in an attempt to determine how many S15s were sold ? this will be way less accurate IMO.

Anyhow , by looking at the transaction chart, you can see that on the 24th of july nothing major happened, in fact the number of transactions was lower than average

24th is where I place the green dot.
you can also check "Sent in $" here > https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/sentinusd-btc-ltc-bch.html#log&3m

nothing major in that too, in fact less than the average,  I know this is far from being a solid proof , but with 5 gears limited per customer, and running out of gears in 5 mins or so, it's safe to assume that they didn't sell much.

If you think that's bad, think of the S17 pro for 4k when it started around 2k... Of course they are doing the supply and demand thing, maybe artificially.

The PSU change does improve the efficiency a little bit, but i don't know if the S9SE uses 20v like the newer models do.
