Zimbabwe has been playing pathetically in test matches. You would also agree with the fact that Zimbabwe might lose the match by an innings if you have observed their recent test matches. However, now it looks like Zimbabwe might avoid the innings defeat. Because New Zealand ended their first innings with 158 runs lead only. Still, this lead is enough to win by an innings against this Zimbabwean team. NZ is going to win the match for sure. Betting sites aren't accepting bets on New Zealand to win.

Although Zimbabwe lost two wickets for just 29 runs. Even then, Zimbabwe will be able to collect more than 158 runs. Maybe Zimbabwe will give a target of 20-30 runs

The changes in the last match are really surprising. A total of 4 changes have been made in both the teams. The changes in England are made for possible workload management. Resting the players is definitely important. But the Indian XI still seems quite shaky to me. Especially in Test matches, India does not give much importance to left-arm pace bowlers, I think Arshdeep Singh could have been a good change for Bumrah. Still, taking Akashdeep in the team is not a wrong move at all. I just wonder who will take the wickets for India? Akash Deep or Mohammad Siraj? But they will not be able to cover Bumrah's absence in any way. India still does not seem strong enough to win against England.

I have posted about this before that Zimbabwe's Test career was ended. They were all out for 149 runs on the first day of the Test match. Which is a shame for Test history. If New Zealand had come out to bat first, it turned out that the New Zealand player could have broken Lara's record. Maybe we will see another new record very soon, against Zimbabwe.

A long-time development was waiting from ICC about test format due to this performance from Zimbabwe and West Indies even still long time, but they already announced after WTC2027 final test teams are going to be divided in two tiers with 6 & 6 groups.

The fifth Test match saw a lot of changes in both teams, especially England's four changes Gus Atkinson, Jacob Bethel, Jamie Overton, Josh Tongue, these four players have been included in the squad and Jofra Archer, Ben Stokes, Brydon Carse, Liam Dawson, these four players are out of the squad. On the other hand, India's four players Prasidth Krishna, Akash Deep, Druve Jurel, Karun Nair have been included in the squad and Rishabh Pant, Anshul Kombuj, Bumrah, Thakur, four players are out of the squad. India lost a wicket in the 1st ball of the third over when Yashasvi Jaiswal got out. But then Kl Rahul and his partner Sai Sudharsan were trying to stabilize the game and play a long partnership. Jaiswal carried his front foot and it got Leg Before Wicket and he got LBW out. It was looking like it might not be out, but England reviewed it and the results were in favor of the England team.
So far in this series, KL Rahul's performance is going very well. He has always played huge role in game-changing moments but today he was out making 14 runs.

For India, collecting 250+ has now  become a big challenge. Due to the failure of the top order batsmen, it will not be possible for India to collect a big total. India lost their sixth wicket for 153 runs. Karun nair and washington Sundar are now at the crease. BCCI has given karun nair another chance. We have not seen a better performance than karun nair in the first 3 matches. If he fails in this match too, he will not get another chance in the Indian squad. Karun nair is unbeaten on 44 runs.

The most experienced and important batsmen of the Indian squad , GIll and Rahul, could not bat well. Rahul managed to score 14 runs and Gill managed to score 21 runs. Now if the Nair- Sundar pair breaks down, then India's innings will not last much longer.

Scorecard might look bad but i reckon India did good by crossing 200. Poms would be slightly disappointed that india are only 6 down because pitch has enough spice and overcast conditions was cherry on top but they were not consistent enough with their line and quite generous with the extras (30).

If condition remains the same then 250-275 would be competitive score on this deck and Indian bowlers will fancy their chances, given they successfully exploit the conditions.

I would agree with you, because India, having lost six wickets so quickly, and from that position to add 51 runs again without losing a wicket, is definitely something India needs to be happy about to survive the ultimate level of humiliation.

Anyway, I thought that this match would be a bit competitive between India and England but looking at India's batting performance, I can't really expect a very good score from India. Most likely they will be all out before scoring 300 runs.

And that will be a big plus point for England to take the lead. Now it will be seen how England bats on this pitch.

Indian dressing room must be relaxed at the end of day 1 because Karun Nair and Washington partnership has brought India back in the game and now they are eyeing 275 or more as first innings score. England bowlers need to break this partnership to stop India from getting to 250 because the track is giving not much support to batsmen.
