South Africa lost wickets very quickly. Except for captain Temba Bavuma, no other batsman played well. Bavuma is still unbeaten on 29 runs. Since South Africa has already lost 7 wickets, it will not be possible for them to give the target of 150 runs. I guess South Africa will lose the remaining three wickets before adding 30 runs to the scoreboard tomorrow.

Indian bowlers have shown good bowling. Out of 7 wickets, Jadeja has taken 4 wickets and Kuldeep has taken 2 wickets. South African batsmen batted very carefully. They tried their best to stay at the crease. But except Bavuma, no other batsman could stay at the crease for long. South African team is experienced in Test format. But Indian team is also strong. Also, Indian management is well aware of the pitch condition. I am sure India will get an easy win in this match.

In both innings, the South African team batting failed miserably and that caused a have a weak position in this test. Losing 7 wickets for 93 runs in this innings and making only 153 runs in the first innings shows that they need some serious improvement in the batting. The South African batsmen aren't that bad with names like Aiden Markram, Temba Bavuma, Ryan Rickelton but somehow they aren't got adjusted on the Indian soil.

Also I would say the pitch at  Eden Gardens isn't batting-friendly as Indian batsmen could only make 189 on this pitch and got all out. Anyways, the Indian team is better positioned in this match and hopefully they will win it tomorrow.

^^ indians were one batter short tho ( Gill) but still, they should have done better. At the same time can't blame the batters here as no batter threw his wicket with brain dead shot, every ball was wicket taking delivery.

Having said that,  case could be made against Jaiswal but he's getting out on same cut shot for some time and it feels like it's becoming a pattern despite being good at playing cut shots.

The bowlers dominated the Test match between South Africa and India at Eden Gardens. When South Africa won the toss and elected to bat, they managed to score 57 runs for the opening wicket, but after the wickets fell, South Africa was all out for just 159 runs in the first innings. In the first innings, Markram could score a maximum of 31 runs for South Africa and Indian bowler Bumrah took 5 wickets. Later, when the Indian batsmen came to bat for the first innings, they also lost wickets at regular intervals and were all out for 189 runs. In the first innings, KL Rahul could score a maximum of 39 runs for India and South African bowler Harmer took four wickets. Then when South Africa came to bat in the second innings, they still lost wickets at regular intervals and currently they are only 93 runs after losing 7 wickets. The second day of play has already ended and South Africa is leading by 63 runs against India and they have only three wickets left. Let's see how many runs they can set against India. But I think India will probably win the first Test match of the two-match Test series.

India batting failure is miserable because on this pitch many was expecting they would be doing too good and have good advantage but sadly all gone on 189 with 30 runs lead which is surely not good but bowlers did magic works in second inning, and they are on course to win even Bavuma and Bosch may bring any surprises.

Simon Harmer and Keshav Maharaj can create problems for India's struggling batting line up but here India need target within three figures because anything less than 120 to 130 is going to be against them Jadeja and Kuldeep doing good job and not allowing South Africa to score freely.

The wicket conditions on the third day will be even worse, and if India suffer a severe batting collapse, nothing can be said for sure. On the other hand, if South Africa recover from 93 and build a big partnership, then the momentum of the game could change. However, the way South Africa performed badly made it seem like India would do much better, but getting all out with a margin of just 20 runs cannot be said to be a good performance by India. If South Africa's bowlers bowl more controllingly, then India would have been all out earlier, but nothing can be said about it. It should always be remembered that cricket is an uncertain game.

When the South African team was all out at 159 runs, I also thought that it would be a one-sided match. But the game changed a bit now as India have lost 5 wickets and the score is 171 runs. This means that if they are not able to make partnerships from here on in, then they won't be able to get a big lead, this will make the match bit interesting.

However South Africa needs to get quick wickets now in order to stay in the match, also they have to bat good in the 2nd innings. I don't know how all of a sudden the South African team can bring the change of momentum in this game.   

It's completely dominant show of bowling lineup from both side especially thier spin trios, it's true after having proteas on such low target things were clearly indicating Indian a dominant side and may be a one sided victory for them but surprinsgly just with lead of 30 runs they lose rest of thier wickets due to majestic spell from janson and hammer. While now once again India show thier dominance but I think still Indian hasn't taken them lightly as pitch were provide huge turn and for sure even a 100 runs lead can create huge trouble for Indian lineup at last innings while chased.

The pitch is extremely difficult for batting. You can't expect the batsmen to do well when the pitch behaves in this way. Indian batsmen have shown enough patience in the match. They haven't batted well, but it is enough there. South African players have done more bad in the 2nd innings. The target won't be much. India might lose some wickets to chase the small target.

The pitch is extremely difficult for batting. You can't expect the batsmen to do well when the pitch behaves in this way. Indian batsmen have shown enough patience in the match. Actually, to check the condition of the ground no one have to search for separately they can easily understand by seeing the batting score of South African and Indian team.
I initially thought that the South African batsmen were not able to stand against the Indian team strong bowling lineup, that is why they lost all their wickets in the first innings with such a low score, but later I saw that the Indian team went the same way even though they scored thirty runs more than the Indian team.

Currently, we see the South African team in a worse position in the second innings, but if they are all out for less than 170, I hope the Indian team will win the match.

Brendan Doggett is firming for a Test debut after Australia's injury woes deepened on Saturday with Hazlewood joining fellow Test squad member Sean Abbott and captain Pat Cummins on the sidelines.

Michael Neser has been brought into the squad as cover after both Hazlewood and Abbott suffered hamstring injuries (Abbott hurt his left hamstring) during NSW's Sheffield Shield clash with Victoria at the SCG earlier this week

This is going to be such a shitty series for the Australians. Both Cummins and Hazlewood are unavailable and this is going to seriously undermine their bowling attack. BTW who is Brendan Doggett? I haven't even heard about this guy before. So the attack will be consisted of Starc, Boland and Doggett? With Neser as backup? England is also not free from injuries. Mark Wood, their premier pace bowler is also out with injury. And Jofra Archer is fine at the moment, but you never know when he will break down again.

South Africa failed to bat well in the second innings. The team scored only 153 runs. However, after losing 7 wickets for 91 runs, the possibility of them scoring 150+ was very low. Captain Bavuma played a brilliant innings of 55 not out. And this is why South Africa was able to give a target of 124 runs. The pitch was bowling friendly, if they could give a target of around 200, South Africa had a chance of winning.

But India lost the important wicket of Jaiswal in the first over. Even then, India will win the match. Only scoring 124 runs is not a difficult task for an experienced team like India.

In a same way it applies to Ashwin and Shakib.


India is lucky that Rabada is not there, Corbin Bosch is good but atm he's not disciplined with his length and releasing all the pressure in such a tight chase.

The Proteas definitely can draw the series by winning the next test since Indian batting has been pretty underwhelming so far. Let's see what happens.

Only time will tell if something dramatic happens for India in this innings, i.e. if India comes very close to winning and loses. Yashavi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Kl Rahul, these three batsmen could not contribute in the Indian second innings.

The target is only 124, but it is difficult to estimate how much of a disaster India will face if they manage to score 124 runs given the pitch conditions. It is not certain whether Shubman (R.H) will be able to bat today, but it is expected that India will play the second innings with 10 batsmen. Washington and Rishabh Pant will have to play a role in taking the team closer to victory today, otherwise India will be defeated(Not sure but it's uncertain cricket )
