Afghanistan has performed very well. And I am satisfied with their performance. Amassing 292 runs in just 37.1 overs was no easy task. However, the boys of Afghanistan tried their best. They were narrowly defeated. I'd say that's their bad luck. Otherwise they would have won this match and qualified for round of 4 as well. The Afghanistan team should take the preparation for the next World Cup now. Their squad is promising. They can play well.

Jonathan Trott's statement sounds silly to me. He was unaware of his chances of qualifying for the next round. It was his duty to explore all the possibilities. Because he is the coach of the Afghanistan team. He did not perform his duty properly.

All he had to do was to take a single, and give the strike back to Rashid Khan. Anyway, this is not the first time that Afghanistan is losing close encounters. During the last edition of Asia Cup also something similar happened.

It was seen that Rashid Khan lost his interest in the last stage of the game. Rashid Khan's behavior in the last stage was a kind of madness. If Rashid Khan had taken the strike, he could have at least won the match against Sri Lanka. If Afghanistan team player Nabi could have played some more time, then Afghanistan could have qualified for Super Four. Afghanistan tried hard to qualify themselves. You have to feel for Afghanistan, they played incredibly and with a lot of heart.

They were not just trying to win the match but they attempted to qualify with a better run rate and doing so lost the match. They needed to chase this target in 37.1/2 overs but luck wasn't on their side tonight. If qualification wasn't on the table then they were surely winning the match.

It was really sad to see Afghanistan play for the first time because Afghanistan tried so hard at the end but they came very close to win but failed to bring the equation in their favor in the end. The person who is the analyst may not have understood this equation due to which Afghanistan has to leave the Asia Cup with disappointment once again.

Every international team has a team analyst who works with the team. They always work with the calculations and analyze every match detail. I don't know who is the team analyst of Afghanistan. If they have one, what is the job of that guy? Even website commentators like Cricinfo and, Cricbuzz reported these things live. If most cricket analyst knows the equation, why not their team analyst?

Whatever, this was an awesome match to watch. Afghanistan played really well. I am not upset because of their loss. I am upset because they did not know the other equation. Fazal Haque Farooqi defended a full-toss ball that could have been a big six. All they needed was to hit a six in the next three balls from there.

Sri Lanka just avoided defeat by two runs, ensuring their place in the AsiaCup Super 4. Afghanistan performance will be remembered despite the setback since it was a thriller in Lahore. It was indeed a heartbreaking turn of events for Afghanistan in that crucial match against Sri Lanka. The effort and heart they put into the game were truly commendable. I think the Match awareness is crucial in high pressure situations like these. It's unfortunate that they weren't aware of the opportunity to qualify if they had taken that single and hit that boundary in the 38th over.  

Can't think of any such fight by any team recently as Afghanistan fought hard to qualify but failed. They were unlucky at the end as they didn't knew the exact match situation.

By the way, people are talking about that they could still have won if they would have hit a six to finish the match, but even if they knew it, what if they were not able to hit the six. It was a tough target 🎯 for the Afghanistan team but still I love the way they fought.

After the match, Afghan coach was blaming the match officials. But then, I don't think that it is the duty of the match officials to inform the players about the different scenarios. I am eagerly waiting to watch Bangladesh vs Pakistan match today. There is no doubt that Pakistan team is very strong. And I would say Pakistan has the best bowling line-up in the world right now. It is very difficult to stay at the crease against Pakistan bowlers. On the other hand, I will not say that the batsmen of Bangladesh are bad. However, their performance is not consistent. In the first match they collected only 166 runs against Sri Lanka, in the second match this team scored 334 runs. There is no telling how they will fare against Pakistan's bowlers. However, Bangladesh have less chance of scoring big against Pakistan bowlers.

Although Pakistan's batting line-up is quite good, Bangladesh's bowlers have been playing well in recent times. Shakib and Miraj are great spinners. On the other hand, Taskin, SHoriful and Hasan Mahmud are very good pace bowlers. And they are in good form. I think the match will be competitive. Although Pakistan is the favorite in this match.

Your information is not correct Pakistan's bowlers are better than the Indian ones especially Shaheen Afridi because that guy is a truly awesome bowler and anyone plays against his bowls will have to face the hardest match of his life. I believe that the other bowlers of Pakistani team also do their best in matches and especially when it's against India because both have enmity from the beginnings. I think Sri Lankan team is also a little bit good but they aren't as good as Pakistani team.  Although it would be underestimation if I say that Indian bowlers aren't good because they also play very well in the matches but it's a fact that Pakistani bowlers are a little better than the Indian ones.

Wrong. So much nonsense in a single post. ICC ODI rankings specify Siraj as one of the top bowlers while their test rankings specify Ashwin and Jadeja as some of the top bowlers which says a lot.

Pakistan have many great bowlers these days, but they aren't really consistent. Do your research!

Well, that's according to the rankings of ICC but when you see the actual game from those teams then you'll see that whose bowlers perform better. I agree that Mohammad Siraj is a good bowler from Indian team and he's better than most other Indian bowler that you mentioned. But, Shaheen Afridi is also a dam good bowler and if you watch the game your self then you'll know better that how good he performs during matches. You're right some of the bowlers from Pakistan team aren't consistent but still we can't deny that they also have good bowlers in their squad.

Looking at the performance in the 3rd match of the Asia Cup, we can at least understand that Pakistan's bowling line-up was appreciable. Though India had no chance to get a idea about their bowling line-up. But there is no denying that both the teams have good bowlers. It is better to judge the good and the bad, we must look at the field performance. Shaheen Afridi and Siraj are both good bowlers and both were wicket takers in Asia Cup. But I would also say that Pakistan team cannot maintain their consistency in any major tournament. And sometimes they perform so well which  beyond the expectation.

Pakistan has always been a little inconsistent when it comes to big tournaments. But there have been some tournaments in which people did not expect Pakistan to win but they did. I feel like the Pakistan team is just not balanced enough, Or maybe they have a good balanced squad. It is just that they are not always performing consistently and that’s why we do not feel confident about them.

If we compare the Pakistan squad against India, I think it is safe to say that India is going to be a little bit better. But we can obviously not say that Pakistan is a bad squad. Honestly, I am not so sure because we did not see the match between India and Pakistan being played in the end. The match could have given us a good idea about them.

Sithara007, It was definitely not the fault of the match officials. It was the fault of the Afghanistan players. They have to keep an eye out for every equation. But they were unable to do so. And now they cannot blame anyone else for that. I absolutely am going to blame them because if they could hit a six they would have actually had a chance. But they failed to do so. So now they cannot blame anyone else for their failure. They have to take some accountability and realize that they did not perform well in this tournament. They should understand where they made mistakes, and they should also try to improve in the next tournament.

We all know that Pakistani bowlers now on the top .They alway have a strong bowling line up but it is serious collapse once again by Bangladesh .I think they we won’t be able to back on the track .Bangladesh are still now are surviving on the batting line up and they don’t have their most valuable player Mahmudullah Riyad .I think he is 01 man army when Bangladesh fall into the trap in past .I don’t get about the strategy why they didn’t keep a batsman like him .I think its really tough today to reach 200 nevertheless its a heaven pitch for batters .Bangladesh team still showing immaturity after palaying for many years .Now world no 1 all rounder Shakib on the batting let's have some hope that he carry and pull the runs towards 200 though its impossible to win for them .They need to do more hard work cause World Cup is knocking at the door right after Asia cup .
