I don't think it's a huge blow as there are few other bowlers who can replace Naseem Shah. If you see Pakistan performance in the Asia Cup then its very much clear that they are not fully prepared for coming ODI WC. Babar Azam was completely clueless in this tournament both as a batsman and as a captain. With such preparation you cant win world cup while India looks more focused and prepared for the upcoming WC. This WC will also tell whether viewers have any interest left in ODI WC.

I would consider it only as bad news for the Pakistan team. Just before the start of the world cup, they lost of one their major fast bowler., Naseem Shah as he is injured.

Although we know about Muhammad Amir as he is also a good bowler however i do not know if he is in the form or not. I haven't seen him play for the Pakistan team for a long time. Yes, he has got the pace and he is sort of a furious bowler like Shoaib Akhtar, but I do not know if he could be successful on the pitches of India.

Muhammad Amir career from Pakistan is very much over, currently he has got UK residency and is settled there. There are few options to replace Naseem Shah like Muhammad Hasnain, Hassan Ali and Shahnawaz. I think Muhammad Hasnain is a good option as he has got pace and can be effective on Indian pitches.

So what is the official news then? Will Muhammad Amir represent Pakistan in this World Cup or will the PCB will look for other options?
No matter who they play with, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi bowling was one of the best fast bowling attack but now I guess Afridi has to find a suitable partner who can keep the pressure at the other end.

I did not see any of the official news from PCB regarding the replacement of Naseem Shah. Rumors around say the name of Amir but despite selecting him they should move toward the rest of their bowlers. This is a very good gesture by Muhammad Siraj. Only a few people think for others and this initiative may compel more crickets to donate their money to the ones (grounds men etc) who work day and night to make ground arrangements for all these matches to take place.

I like these things in the cricketers they make money by playing cricket and donating them to the poor. Of course, they will miss Naseem Shah and Haris Rouf. Other pace bowlers you mentioned are not better compared to how well Naseem Shah and Haris were doing. I guess almost everyone does not know fact that Pacers have a limitation in their bowling capabilities. They can bowl more than their capacity but it will increase the chance of their injury. Which is what happened in Pakistani Pacers case. They did not rotate the bowlers well and they keep used their main gun for every match. Even Bangladesh pace bowling coach rotated his bowlers even against India. They gave a rest to Shoriful and Taskin ahmed because the coach knows he already bowled a lot in this week. A Pace bowler should not bowl more than 160 balls per week. At least that's what some monitoring software suggest that is used by many coaches. But, I don't think Pakistani coaches use such technology to track their bowlers working load.

Due to the injury of two Pakistani players, they had to go for this fate. Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf must be monitored to see how much work they do in a week. It is normal for a player to get injured but not by overworking. As you said more than 160 balls per week should not be rotated then more pressure on the bowlers, I think it is definitely right because the players get injured due to excess pressure. Such monitoring should be checked by the coach.

It would have been a good decision not to put extra pressure on Pakistan's bowlers who had different plans for the World Cup. With two key bowlers injured at the moment due to extra pressure on the bowlers, there is no confirmation as to how fit they will be during the World Cup. While Haris Rauf could return to the World Cup, Naseem Shah's chances are slim as the player's injury is quite serious. If for some reason Pakistan misses the services of these two fast bowlers in the World Cup, then Pakistan will suffer a big blow. These two fast bowlers lead the Pakistan fast bowling unit so they are much needed in the team if Pakistan wants to do well in the World Cup.

Before the Asia Cup I believe Pakistan is a strong team to win the World Cup 2023. But after Naseem Shah and Harris Rouf were injured in the match against India Pakistan lost the match against Sirlinka and Finished in the Super Four of the Asia Cup in the last 4th Position. Pakistan team is completely relying on Naseem Shah and Haris Rouf who are best fast bowlers in the world but after the Injury pakistan can select another player like Waseem Jnr or Faheem Ashraf both are an all-rounder and medium pace bowlers. Mainly depends on the Venue. If I am not wrong then Pakistan playing some matches in Eden Garden and Chepuk. One is high scoring venue but it also supports Pacers and the Chepuk is spin heaven.

Best fast bowlers in the world? Crazy exaggeration! They are exceptional bowlers for sure, but they aren't the best. They have a lot of great pacers, but they don't have any amazing spinners which is their biggest weakness.

As Shahid Afridi mentioned, they need to rotate their players more often like India if you ask me.

Naseem has and class no doubt and no one can fullfill his place completely but the way Pakistani younger bolwer delivered his best performance in first ODI match of his career  I am quite sure he will done more than our expectations because it's very difficult to defend 8 runs in last over while on debut but he delivered his best and push match till last ball. So the point is there are much more pacer who's ready to took naseem place.

I don't have much expectation from Ireland. They performed poorly in recent times. On top of that, England is right now in top form. But then, apart from Joe Root most of the England squad is second string. Paul Stirling will be captaining a full-strength Ireland squad. And this means that despite their poor form, Ireland actually has a chance to win at least one match against Ireland and go up in the ODI rankings. ICC Cricket World Cup Super League was abandoned long back, so there is no other relevance of this series.

@elevates Mostly I don't like to go argue with anyone about few issues but after reading your this post I am giving you reply as look into your neck before talking to someone India is also involved in many fixes in India and outside as well and if you want to check history then please google what happen during New Zealand tour of India in 2016 when BCCI officials have a telephone call before start of this series that this is going to be drawn after four matches with score of 2 - 2 and then India will win last 5th match and same happen.
Few Pakistani players were involved, but they punished, and then we have better results but in India all IPL and many others are also involved with the help of BCCI officials, and they are taking huge profit from this all, so please don't go biased as these all are guilty of this business just enjoy here and talk entertaining stuff which good for all of us.
