The way South African women chased the score was remarkable. They chased down the target of 253 runs losing only 3 wickets. Their captain and opener Laura Wolvaardt alone scored 124 runs. Although i thought that earlier Amelia Kerr also played a good innings of 88 runs but this innings by Laura was even better.

As the South African team won the first ODI too, this is the series win for these girls. The third and final match will be played at Durban on this Sunday and I am pretty sure that SA will win that too.

India need to ensure batting first 50 overs as well as make some changes in batting plan towards the end. I know in the third match it was difficult for the lower order batsmen to get the match out but if they could have done this tough job then we would not have noticed any flaws in their team.  

India must focus on finishing and those who play in the number seven to eight position must bat according to their position.

The Afghanistan team is very strong, but only for the T20 format. Their performance in the ODI format has been very erratic. I don't expect much from this team in the World Cup as well. In the Asia Cup too, we saw a poor and erratic performance from Afghanistan. But the players of this team have the ability to play big innings.

It is unfortunate for Sri Lanka that Hasaranga is not in the squad. The group returned to the truck after a long period of poor performance. Sri Lanka has done well against Bangladesh and Pakistan in the Asia Cup. Sri Lanka's spin attack in particular was excellent. But the performance of their batsmen is very erratic. If the performance of the batsmen is not consistent, it is not possible to do anything good in the World Cup.

Well, I understand that lifting the World Cup for both Afghanistan and Srilanka teams is out of the question but both of these teams are capable of doing the upsets and that too not just once but multiple times.

When any of the strong teams is playing a match against them, they will have in the back of their mind that these are not easy teams and they need to fight hard to get a win from them.

Also another thing is this world cup is taking place in India, and the Asian region pitches support the Afghanistan and Srilanka spinners, Rashid khan may have a big role in this World Cup.

He has only one hundred to his name, although he made double digit scores in all the 8 matches (3 against India, 5 against South Africa). Anyway, he is a crucial player for the Australians in this world cup and if they want to lift the trophy then Marnus need to step up his game. One positive aspect is that he seems to have got adjusted to the weather and pitch conditions in India.

India make a big change in world cup squad after the defeat from Australia, Ravichandran Ashwin is back in India ODI World Cup squad 2023. I think this is good addition in team india spin bowling attack. Ashwin is a thinking bowler and a very useful batsman, and in Indian conditions he will be very effective. He replaced the injured Axar Patel in the team. Its a good decision by Indian Cricket Board, Ravindra Jadeja and Aksar Patel are bowlers alike but the World Cup is being held in India an experienced cricketer like Ravichandran Ashwin will certainly benefit Team India and hopefully india has good chance to win world Cup.
