In fact, with the T20 World Cup just around the corner, England are being tested by their ODI performance against Sri Lanka, where we thought they would win without any competition. But today, England are facing a do or die match to win the series.
Anyway, Sri Lanka have opted to bat after today's toss. Now let's see how England's bowling performance is today. I hope they will try to restrict Sri Lanka to around 250 runs today and secure an easy win.

English team doing well in second ODI, in 34 overs SL score is 148 and four wickets have gone down. Kusal Mendis who remained not out on 93 in first ODI was out after scoring 26 runs. English bowlers will try there best to not allow SL batters to make it to 250 today. Still 16 overs left in SL innings and if SL want to remain in the game then they must try to score 100 runs in remaining 16 overs. It's a must win game for English team as they have lost the first ODI and if they lose today the series will be over for them.

Once again, USA Under 19s squad displayed failure performance and failed to defeat their opponent. Against Bangladesh Under 19s squad,  USA Under 19s squad was begun match first with batting inning and batters were managed to collect 199 scores as a target off 50 overs inning. Iqbal Hossain Emon performance in bowling was quote supportive and played crucial role in victory and picked up 3 significant wickets. Bangladesh squad simply achieved total scores and emerged victory with huge difference 7 wickets and 51 deliveries.  Azizul Hakim was top scorer of this match and he played wonderful inning and managed to collect 64 scores. Rifat Beg and Zawad Abrar also built great partnership and both collected 30 and 47 scores respectively.

Sri Lanka under 19s had a very disappointing start. Their openers struggled and could not handle the pressure from the Australian bowlers. Sri Lanka lost seven wickets for just 39 runs. Byron became the biggest threat, taking five important wickets.Australia were very strong in both bowling and fielding. With great teamwork, they restricted Sri Lanka to a very low total of only 58 runs. When Australia came out to chase, they knew the target was very easy. Sri Lanka were already under pressure and had no chance to stop them. Nitesh and Steven built a solid partnership, and Australia completed the chase in just 12 overs, losing only one wicket. Bangladesh Under-19 team and USA Under-19 team are facing each other in the Under-19 World Cup being held in Zimbabwe today, where Bangladesh Under-19 team is batting at a target of 201 runs.
Bangladesh U-19 won the toss and elected to field, but USA U-19 were all out for 200 runs in 50 overs. Although 200 runs is not a difficult target for Bangladesh U-19, Bangladesh U-19 will easily win today's match. Bangladesh U-19 cricket team won the match by 7 wickets bring target was very short in this match and opponent team should try to make at least 250 runs in this match and they could not successful to make good target in this match. Azizul Hakim Tamim played important inning for his team because he made 64 runs in this match which was a good score in this match according to the requirement of the team. Md Iqbal Hasan Emon took 3 wickets in this match and many other players of the team took 2,2  wickets in this match which was a good margin for that team. The ongoing series match is between USA Under 19 and Bangladesh Under 19.In this the first team showed their best effort and excellent batting and the target they were given was not less. Adnit Jhamb scored 68 runs. Apart from this, the other three members also showed good performance and together they presented a target of 199 runs. But the second team, which was the Bangladesh team, their performance was much better than them. Some of their players were even dismissed for one run each, but no player from the Bangladesh team was dismissed for less. Azizul Hakim scored 64 runs and the batsmen with him also showed similar performances but were a little less than them. This 50-over match was completed in 41 overs and three ball, in which Iqbal Hossain Emon, who performed brilliantly in this match was made the player of the match on his base.

Australia U19 became first team to officially get to play in Super Six stage by beating Japan U19 by eight wickets in Windhoek. Best part of game was Will Malajczuk who hit fastest century of his life with his hundred taking him only 51 balls, and finally going on to get 102 to see Australia to chase of 202 in less than 30 overs. However, loss gave Japan good name in terms of batting through the 50 overs of their play, which was strong and led by Hugo Tani-Kelly who followed his earlier century with brave, not out 79 runs. Although Australia is already safe pick, Japan still has chance to move forward if they beat Ireland in last group game because only last place in group will be thrown out in Super Six race.

It was a really enjoyable game between Australia Under-19s and Sri Lanka Under-19s. Australian bowlers showing there perfect length and accuracy and completely dominating on Sri Lankan batters and also Australian Under-19s batters showing there class well and Australia won the game. Will Berym played a very memorable and aggressive spell in very first inngs while defending the target. He was in good touch and contributed by gaining 5 wickets and sets fifer for him. On the other hand Sri Lankan batters are seems to be failed and falls of wickets continue as from early on and don't a single long partnrship to be seen that's why they put a very low target of 59 runs but Australia well perform in bowling and. Sri Lanka Under-19s don't utilizes its bowling line up perfectly especially don't use there Pacers and focous on spiners which turns the game in favor of Australia Under-19s

Sri Lankan team batting performance was not good today as it was in first ODI, the team got out in last over of their innings after scoring 219 runs. On same track, we saw England team struggled to chase 272 runs in first ODI but today target was just 220 runs and England team won the match quite easily. Joe Root took 2 wickets and also scored 75 runs with the bat, he was given man of the match award. Third ODI will be played on Jan 27, 2026 and that will decide result of the series.

I am rated both teams on same level due to their poor run in ODI for long time, despite Sri Lanka's 5th spot in ICC ranking and England are at 8th, in both games England were looking better side but in first Sri Lanka secured win due last over 23 runs advantage.

The most interesting thing about today's match is that the England captain used 8 bowlers from his squad. And almost  everyone did well. Especially Joe root took two wickets in 2.3  overs. Kiwis batters are seems to be panicked and falls of wickets continue as from early on and in middle order only a few long  partnrship to be seen that's why they put a very low target of 130 runs but India well perform in batting and bowling lineup according to perfect plane. New Zealand don't focaused on batting and the don't have accurate planes against the required condition of the pitches  which turns the game in favor of India

In the 2nd match of the ODI series between England vs Sri Lanka, we can say that England's bowling line was great, as England's bowlers bowled out Sri Lanka for 219 runs which was not a big target in an ODI match, it was a very easy target. In the ongoing New Zealand and India T20 series, we have seen higher scores than this. However, if Sri Lanka could have scored 250+ then it would have been challenging for England. Anyway, England lost the 1st match and won the 2nd match, in this match Joe Root performed brilliantly, he took two wickets with the ball and also did well with the bat which is commendable. Now that the series is tied 1-1, the third match is going to be the final and exciting match, the team that wins the 3rd match will win the series.

Joe Root, hit great 75 runs and two wickets in main return after shameful loss in the first game but Harry Brook was playing steady 42 runs and helped steady chase of 220 runs. England also changed its plans much to spin with 40.3 overs of spin records to stop Sri Lanka from scoring and to end long losing run away from home. Now we know series is tied and last match will be very exciting and competitive.
