On the last update, newbies were restricted to use a signature on their profile if I am not wrong. It was the update with Jr member requiring 1 merit probably. I found a thread where newbie wearing signature, how can this happen? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5168443.0Please, someone confirm if I am wrong. |

I know about the restriction and that's what I have detailed in the OP, yeah copper member can wear the same signature as a member but the account isn't even copper member, he is simply a newbie. |

The account was opened about August of last year so making this case unstable. There are various possibilities as to why that happened. One of which might be Final Edit: He can de-ranked from the junior member status before(or after, anyway should be related of) the need of 1 merit to rank up from newbies, this should be the only case who can wear the signature and have 0 merit on this account. (if they are not deleted manually from theymos but I doubt it).

When the merit system was introduced, it was only member ranks and above were given airdrop merits. Jr. members who never earned a single merit were deranked. With regards to the signature of de-ranked jr. members, Theymos must have forgotten to remove it or didn't really bother to change it. |

One year anniversary of merit systemIn short, what you discussed is here: 3) Second adjustment: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirementsDue to excessive garbage-posting, you now need 1 merit to be a Jr Member. All existing Jr Members who didn't meet the requirement were demoted. Also, newbies can no longer set any signature or personal text.
Let me clarify that demotion on Junior Members whom have not earn a single merit (at least) means that they will become Newbie, and their signature automatically disabled by forum system. To sum up, that case OP raised is likely a glitch. |

Jr. members who never earned a single merit were deranked. but he hasn't enough activity for Jr. Member even now as I replied in the other thread, I think he has copper but simply doesn't wear the title or when he was a newbie he sets his signature before the new restrictions was put in place |
