I think he or she will, something in my heart tells me they are still alive. I don`t think they will reveal their location or who they are, but I do think they will post on this forum in the next 5 years. It is only a matter of time before some big big rogue miners or bitcoin devs do something he or she do not like or see`s a problem with and they will have to come back and have a voice in the matter.

It will probably start by him or her saying something like this.

"Keep using the longest chain" or maybe "use this chain instead from now on"

I did a poll earlier a few months ago I think 19 out of 20 people said they would use whatever satoshi said.

It is conceivable that someone who isn't Satoshi but who was active around the time of the birth of bitcoin could have access to a private key or two which have been linked to Satoshi. It is also conceivable that if Satoshi is still alive, he/she/they no longer has access to these private keys, either intentionally or by mistake. Signing from a private key is therefore not a great metric to use. It proves possession, but it does not necessarily prove identity.

Satoshi's account has been locked for several years, and theymos has stated he will only unlock it following a valid PGP signature:

His account is locked, so no. If he wants to claim his account, he'll have to contact me with a PGP signature.

Possible.

It is quite mixed emotions when that thing would happen. I think I will be very happy to see someone we all talk about gives his/her/their view regarding current issues right now in Crypto.

He is the author of Bitcoin and I think everything that he says will create a big impact on the community.

Probably not, and definitively not for this. It would go against his/her principles to be endorsing blockchains...

According to some people, core devs have already done important changes he/she would object, but there is absolute silence.

he left the forum years ago, if he is alive, then he must have already built his life, must have a wife and children. must have made your family. why would he risk coming here to the forum and risking discovery and exposing his family? If we look at what is going on with Libra, we can get an idea of what would happen if they discovered satoshi's identity and one thing is certain: good things would not happen to satoshi if he revealed his identity.

I think he is here right now. Satoshi has been joining the signature campaign.  Grin

Since time we've been looking for him, threads about him created to investigate his construction of sentences and the time of the day when he post in the forum and people come up with a conclusion as to who he can possibly be. But all these are just going to be guesses. He is not coming back, the man wants his privacy.

If using the same account that Satoshi use, it will.be impossible but if coming to this forum to post and check how the forum is fairing is pretty possible. If he or she or group are here they wouldn't notify us either, so, probably they are  somewhere on this forum watching, most of them that where here when the forum start are still here actively, more possible that some are still here with us.

I am sure the person would like their coins if miners teamed up vs the network, I think the only way to stop it is hardware bans, but the miners will control the network, so yah I don`t know how you would fix the issue.

51% attack = dumb to allow happen.

satoshi would have a much better chance if it was 51% of the people, not hashrate to keep the longest chain as the main chain. Also it would not be a 51% attack then, it would just be a decision by the majority of the users.

I mean look into the future, whatever miner has the most miners, will make the most, and 1 miner will own all other farms in the end, use common sense.
We see it in farming today, I cannot compete with the big boys because they get gas cheaper in bulk, fert cheaper in bulk, baskets cheaper in bulk, small farms are all going under to the big corporation farms.

The same will happen with electricity to power the bitcoin farms. They will be able to get miners cheaper in bulk and electricity cheaper in bulk, all small miners will get pushed out or bought up by the big boy, otherwise they will operate at a loss.

Well I'm pretty sure that I am not Dorian post wasn't Satoshi and after that and the email hack Theymos did the right thing. I can only imagine how much Craig has bribed him for that account.

Cheers to Theymos and his morals!

What if satoshi see`s revealing himself to theymos is a threat? I guess there is other ways he could come forward without this forum. He could actually send bitcoins inbetween wallets to create messages in his first 50 starter wallets, like use binary code by sending .01001000 .01100101 .01101100 .01101100 .01101111 .00100001 btc in between wallets would mean hello. I guess he or she could just encrypt a message in them as well.

Maybe he or she or they? will never come back to the forum but they may do something like this.

I think that it could happen, but I do not believe that Satoshi after all this time suddenly come back. But in any case his sudden statement will make a big splash and I'm sure almost everyone will listen to him.

this forum full of shit, very low quality information include to much scams and people even dont aware we have huge problem right now which need to be solved about scaling blockchain to hold huge amount of transaction per second for mass adaption while most people here even dont know this problem exist, while there are coins says they solved it which is strange while top experts still didnt found protocol data structure which solved this problem..

and what interesting you if satoshi is here or not or if he come back?  the people behind bitcoin know where to reach  and where quality information can be found and top discussion.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xoza4Fvk81M&t=535s

listen in the beginning in this video .. this is where smart people discuss great ideas and share

people even dont know how much protocols out there and what the difference how data structure it self .. to speak about this here its like explain to someone when bitcoin was out and after 11 years most of the people here dont know shit.

so the second guy in the video, to answer his question on how to make changes safety, just clone the shit and run a testnet version of it, you know like how game developers have a ptr server or pbe, just do that before you make any changes to the real chain.

also you say bitcoin has a private premine key in one your post? are you sure? because I call bullshit.

I mean if you don`t like bitcointalk, use reddit or bitcoin.com forum or bitcoin mit forum you talk about.

Just know bitcoin.com was created by a guy who tried to manipulate people into using his product, by what we call phishing, which is actually illegal and bitcoin.org is the real website that does not try $hill a $cam.  BCH and BSV both should be in jail, well Roger Ver and Craig Wright, The people that use them should be in a mental hospital.

1. you make funny of people from mit top minds and this is the reason why anonymous people reach to them , this is the top minds out there, and no body else...there is where quality information flow.

2. to make fun from mit experts its show how much dick head you are and slolwy you will be 40 then 50 and then game over for you and your bullshit non sense.

3. i never talked about bitcoin sv or bitcoin.com or other shit so you real crazy.

4. you even dont know what is protocol and talk about some non sense.

5. time will put you in the right corner, while the great minds change and far away from talking bullshit, mit and other coll places nice information flow there compare to here, you even dont know what is protocol and how much them out there and what we can mix between them and other shit.

6. yes there was premine by the team behind bitcoin and only the owners have access to it and how it can be bullshit, ?? you so fucking unhealthy mentaly dude...the fatser you will get to aged the better, for your self!

7. next projects will be for with pgp key or much more advanced tech so no body can steal the ring...and claim its this guy because they name is x behind this project while if yes he need to have a pgp key or more advanced way to prove, its will debunk all of them.

even answer you its a shame

timebits

this why top anonymous peoplereach to people in MIT and places that similar , its where ideas become reality without illusions.

99% of crypto comunity wait for mass scale and adaption while staoshi people already in the beginning said there will be problem with scaling hhhhhh

there also problem with ico scams , which also need to solved and vitalik and few students from mit found a way to solve this, you far away from the ball park and the reason is you and no body else and never blame no body, yet the room around you is full of bullshit which also effect the situation , this is why when people wanna get deep the rabbit hole they stick to mit and oxford and top places where real information p0p

for bitcoin's sake, i hope that never happens.

one of the reasons bitcoin is so superior to altcoins is its decentralized and consensus-based development process. unlike ethereum or ripple or bitcoin cash or BSV---which have small numbers of extremely influential developers and decision makers who can economically coerce users into following their forks---bitcoin development is merit-based, consensus-based. with bitcoin, there is no vitalik buterin figure to pressure the network into accepting the ethereum foundation's roadmap.

i believe this is one of the reasons satoshi left and also why he/they will never return.

It will probably start by him or her saying something like this.

that's terrible. if developers are deciding the blockchain state, then the network doesn't operate by decentralized consensus at all!

No one can certainly tell if he will post anything, he/she may have been reading comments with another account. But should he/she dares to make any post, then this forum will experience an exponential growth because of influx of new users who would want to ask questions, although some persons may think his account may have been hacked.

I don't think so. It would expose his/her/their identity which is dangerous at this point because of the holdings in his/her/their wallet. Well, there's a possibility that it will happen in the future though but it's slim. At this point, I think we should just ignore this topic as there might be a reason why he/she/they hid from the public. We should just respect it.
