I don't think so. It would expose his/her/their identity which is dangerous at this point because of the holdings in his/her/their wallet. Well, there's a possibility that it will happen in the future though but it's slim. At this point, I think we should just ignore this topic as there might be a reason why he/she/they hid from the public. We should just respect it.
Years back he has used the forum and has discussed a lot. People who were active during those days were active at the present. Just making some posts doesn't gonna reveal the identity of Satoshi.

As described there might be some reason for staying anonymous. It is his decision lets respect it.

His identity would be at risk, he know that and I believe he will not come back and post, he will protect his identity to remain anonymous.
I think he is still watching the forum, but not gonna post in his real account.

I am looking forward that one day, Satoshi will post back here in forum. But I think it is really impossible now, if he is alive or not he is satisfied now with the results that the forum, the bitcoin that he created is well fine now. Maybe he lost all his private keys or accounts and passwords here in forum that he never visits this for some quite time now. But still, we'll never know. Maybe, he's just watching us with different account. Too many maybe's and if's but we can't really know and we are just predicting.

I think he or she will, something in my heart tells me they are still alive. I don`t think they will reveal their location or who they are, but I do think they will post on this forum in the next 5 years. It is only a matter of time before some big big rogue miners or bitcoin devs do something he or she do not like or see`s a problem with and they will have to come back and have a voice in the matter.

It will probably start by him or her saying something like this.

"Keep using the longest chain" or maybe "use this chain instead from now on"

I did a poll earlier a few months ago I think 19 out of 20 people said they would use whatever satoshi said.

Do you thank Satoshi is a he, a she or even a they?

I'm growing my BTCs by 0.72-1.44% each day on https://bitcoinprofit.net/boss/coinbitte

For me, Satoshi is not even lurking this forum on daily basis, but he's also posting around in different sections with a normal username.
He doesn't need to reveal "hey, i'm Satoshi, nice to meet you all".. i mean, he created all of this, if i was him, i would lurk and post around without any problem.
BTC is his son, he need to take care of him, watching him growing every day is the best thing possible.. holy shit, from an idea look where he is now, i would be super proud of this Cheesy

I think this is not the right section for this better move this to off topic since this is not a bitcoin discussion topic

His identity would be at risk, he know that and I believe he will not come back and post, he will protect his identity to remain anonymous.
I think he is still watching the forum, but not gonna post in his real account.
We don’t know that he might be posting using other account though he is not revealing himself and just joining random discussion..

While Theymos locked Satoshi’s main account there are lot of option for him to contribute in some discussions here.

So yes he might be posting or already posting without anyone noticing him

The last time that "Satoshi" was active in a forum was the Cypher Punk forums in the 80's. There was a debate back then about the privacy of those transactions, in which a lot of them are trying to attempt to solve an "unsolved problem".

They did struggled until Satoshi cracked the code after the stock market crash sometime in 2008. I just don't know if he's still alive or dead by now. Everyone here could create a fake "Satoshi Nakamoto" username here (like BSV's Craig Wright who failed to prove that he is Satoshi Nakamoto), so we may not know if that "real" Satoshi would actually come back and prove it to all of us.

he can always disguise as someone else to post in forum if he misses this forum that much, all that is required is create i don't think he would want to risk using his old account here even though i don't think the account has any personal information except just been known by the name, either way there is no treat to his privacy.

for bitcoin's sake, i hope that never happens.

one of the reasons bitcoin is so superior to altcoins is its decentralized and consensus-based development process. unlike ethereum or ripple or bitcoin cash or BSV---which have small numbers of extremely influential developers and decision makers who can economically coerce users into following their forks---bitcoin development is merit-based, consensus-based. with bitcoin, there is no vitalik buterin figure to pressure the network into accepting the ethereum foundation's roadmap.

i believe this is one of the reasons satoshi left and also why he/they will never return.

I completely agree with your opinion, and some people should try to better understand what is Bitcoin. Strength of Bitcoin is not in one person, but just the opposite - we are all reason why Bitcoin is still live and it is going forward.

The most obvious example of centralized bitcoin is Roger Ver or CW Faketoshi shitcoins, and this is probably main reason why Satoshi Nakamoto is decided to pull back and remain anonymous.

It would also not be wise to appear now or ever, because it would most likely end up as Julian Assange.

I think not. Besides, everyone doesn't care about it Undecided
Even if Satoshi exists, it’s just a man, what can happen if he will come back? - nothing will happen. People will write about this news in newspapers, some tv-news and that's it. I don't impose my opinion on anyone, but only share it.

Very unlikely indeed ...

Wu Ming ...

..."Once the writer becomes a face... it's a cannibalistic jumble: that face appears everywhere, almost always out of context. A photo is witness to my absence; it's a banner of distance and solitude. A photo paralyses me, it freezes my life into an instant, it negates my ability to transform into something else. I become a "character", a stopgap to hurriedly fill a page layout, an instrument that amplifies banality. On the other hand my voice – with its grain, with its accents, with its imprecise diction, its tonalities, rhythms, pauses and vacillations – is witness to a presence even when I'm not there; it brings me close to people and doesn't negate my transformative capacity because its presence is dynamic, alive and trembling even when seemingly still."...

I don't know. I see that some people believe that the guy who created it all is dead. Craig knew him, basically stole his contributions and now says he's Satoshi, even though it was more that guy, than him. I heard that the family of the deceased is accusing Craig of this, at least. But I do hope that the mastermind behind Bitcoin is still alive. And you're right when you write he/she, since even though most of people just assume it's a guy, it could well be a gal. In fact, a girl has an additional reason to hide identity, just like women did throughout history: so that the invention is not undermined because of the sexist views of those who use it. The bitcointalk account would be a good point for me, but then again it can probably be accessed by someone else who knows the real Satoshi but is not Satoshi. I bet Craig knows the real one, he's just too much of a d*ck to admit that it isn't him.

The first thing we should settle first is he still alive or not there are theories that he is in prison but it's not yet verified, we will never know, we are waiting for something that's unlikely to happen if we cannot establish that he is still alive or any of his close relatives can prove that he is still alive and active, I love him to come back to us after the many ups and downs we encountered along the way.

I do not know whether he will appear or not,but I still do not understand why he does not publish messages further? What's mystical? It seems to me that if there was a dialogue between the Creator of bitcoin and the community, even more people would know about cryptocurrencies.

maybe it could be a promotion strategy at the beginning, first maybe not many people want to know satoshi's profile, but once prices soar, many people want to know. but in my opinion, Satoshi will not bring up his identity at any time, may be he is enjoying the fruits of his current work

I also hope for that, i wish him a good health until we make to the world market and make bitcoin the best currency ever. Satoshi is hard to find, he’s still the living proof of anonymity that’s why I adore him and I’m really thankful. Satoshi is surely proud about bitcoin right now, let’s wait for that time.

It is all possible. Satoshi might or might not come. And all this depends on whether Santoshi is dead or alive. If Satoshi comes it will surely be for something huge, not mere voicing out what chain to use or not to.

You know, since we don't really know Satoshi, maybe he,she or they is/are lurking somewhere on this forum, and we don't know it.

that's terrible. if developers are deciding the blockchain state, then the network doesn't operate by decentralized consensus at all!

SHA-256 is very strong.  It's not like the incremental step from MD5 to SHA1.  It can last several decades unless there's some massive breakthrough attack.

If SHA-256 became completely broken, I think we could come to some agreement about what the honest block chain was before the trouble started, lock that in and continue from there with a new hash function.

If the hash breakdown came gradually, we could transition to a new hash in an orderly way.  The software would be programmed to start using a new hash after a certain block number.  Everyone would have to upgrade by that time.  The software could save the new hash of all the old blocks to make sure a different block with the same old hash can't be used.
