It is hard to believe if a state-owned postal service has provided services about cryptocurrency to the public, but this is extraordinary news and I am sure the growth of cryptocurrency is large in Croatia

This is really good news and also a big step for post office, especially because it's government owned. That shows their ntention to step up with time and endorse new technologies. Hope the fees will be acceptable and they will attract a lot of users. It's also a good thing for Bitcoin promotion in such small country.

Can you believe it?
We, the Croatian Bitcoin community, are really shocked with this information and we did not expect this.
It seems that right now Croatian post office will offer this service as pilot project only in one city in Croatia- Zadar, but hopefullythis service will be extended soon to all post offices in the Republic of Croatia!
It's great step for bitcoin acceptance in Croatia.

       It seems your government is going to adapt crypto currency in your country and this may the pilot area since post office is a public service office , so it's a win for crypto enthusiast people from Croatia , hoping that more people will be assimilated .

This seems very cool. I wanted to ask a few things, though. Like, what are the fees for this exchange? Are they typical, like in any other place in general? And if not the fees, the rate (price) at which they exchange Bitcoin. If it were in my country, I would choose the post office over another place if the fees in total did not exceed, say, 7%. Another question, which is not a big matter for me but is for some other people, is KYC. You're probably required to give your passport to people in the post office, right?
Oh, and my final question, which is of interest specifically to me about this whole thing. In my country, we have both public (governmental) and private post office. Is this on the main official post office of the country, or a private one?

We are talking here about 3 post offices in Zadar, which participated in pilot project and in future they have plan to include post offices in whole country.

Wallet and ID sound reasonable, and it's cool that it's not a private post office, it kind of reflects the official attitude, then. But some fees must be there since they have to make a profit out of it, right? Regarding the link you provided, if that price of Bitcoin is the only part with fees, and it's a very good offer, I would say. And I would definitely use this if it was in my country, rather than dealing with shady private local exchanges that probably sell whatever data on customers they get and don't pay taxes. I hope this stuff comes to my country too, and congrats to Croatia for boosting Bitcoin adoption!

It is a great service by the postal office as they are innovating with the changing times where they have no work with advance in technology like they once had and these sort of innovation will keep them going in the future and i wish every country should follow these sort of innovative inclusion to have a sustained business model and add further things that could attract customers.

Croatia is not first in this crypto experiment with post offices, similar service is start in Austria, Liechtenstein, Poland.

But Croatia is have something even better if you want to buy / sell crypto without any ID. There is a literally a physical store called BitcoinStore where you can sell up to some €1000 worth of coins per transaction every day. They have their office in capital town and in town of Split which is located on Adriatic coast - so if you go there to vacation take your crypto and do not worry about tax or ID.

Lucius, you are right, Bitcoin Store does allow buying and selling cryptocurrencies without ID, but that's going to end with 1.1.2020. when new AML law comes into effect in Croatia. Our cooperation with Croatian Post was built with long term in mind so we created the process to abide with the new law from the start. So, in few months Bitcoin Store will also have to abide by the law and buying and selling crypto without ID will, unfortunately, be impossible in Croatia. We would gladly offer that service if that would be possible...

This is a very encouraging news especially for many cryptocurrency lovers, holders and plain enthusiasts in Croatia. Let's hope the service can be profitable and be patronized by a good number of customers so it can be thriving and will not be stopped for lack of patronage. If official institutions start working with cryptocurrency, then these are the first steps to legalize cryptocurrency in the country.  And perhaps there are already certain laws that regulate the activity in the cryptocurrency market and the use of cryptocurrency in Croatia.  This is really good for the Croats.

We know that neighboring country Slovenia is pro-crypto oriented,
and I think has some influence for sure, and it should spread more if you ask me.

Local crypto communities should gather and educate people for free,
explain them why decentralized crypto and Bitcoin is important, how to use wallets, exchanges,
