Croatian post office now offer crypto exchange

People already can pay bills in the post office but since official currency in Croatia is kuna, it's not possible right now that people pay bills with crypto currency or with any other currency.
But, people can exchange, for example, bitcoin to kuna and with kuna pay their bills

We hope to change this in Autumn ;-)

We, the Croatian Bitcoin community, are really shocked with this information and we did not expect this.
It seems that right now Croatian post office will offer this service as pilot project only in one city in Croatia- Zadar, but hopefullythis service will be extended soon to all post offices in the Republic of Croatia!
It's great step for bitcoin acceptance in Croatia.
So, what are you waiting for, come in Croatia and spend your bitcoin and other crypto here

I really hope that other countries will follow our example
It would be great to be able to easily and quickly convert crypto funds to local currencies anywhere in the EU.
I also hope other post offices in Croatia will join this project soon.

This is good news for all traders. And good news for the crypto currency world. Because, everyone wants. crypto currency should be declared by all governments. So everyone can manage and use it beautifully.

It is going to surely get to that stage but will be a gradual process, I have not heard of Croatian compliance to cryptocurrency before, but now we have seen it, this is the same way that other countries that has not been heard of will also start joining gradually, and like you said, these ones are already setting space down for some other countries now.

I think right now, I am aware of about 6 countries that are fully in use and support of cryptocurrency, which is beginning to make it difficult of any country to make any suggestion as regards the general ban of cryptocurrency, which will make them to start looking into also adopting it, just like china is beginning to consider, although they are only considering if they can develop their own cryptocurrency also.

Does the post office accept crypto for shipping transactions or for other purposes? but I think if this happens I think it is good for Croatia and it can be emulated by other countries in adopting crypto and making good use of it.

Currently it does not accept but there are plans for it in the future, according to user dzoni.

It's interesting that they are also accepting altcoins. They had to do some research before adding this option which means crypto education for employees. Maybe it will spread to other offices.

I guess Dzoni isto busy to answer but since I live in Croatia, and often visit post offices, I can try to answer.
Generally, there is no limit to what services you can use in the post office, even if you are from abroad, so I'm sure that you can use their new service, crypto exchange, without any problem.
You don't buy or sell crypto from the people in the post office, but using app. created by Dzoni's company.

Wrong!! Let it be 10% premium or even more but when a government body accepts cryptos for the benefit of common mass, it creates huge trust impact in positive direction! It also makes a lot of people intrigued about this new type of currency system which in turn helps the flow of new investments into crypto ecosystem.

Let the premium be 10% or more, but it certainly takes the game into next level. Imagine the same happening in highly populated countries like China or India!

Considering how expensive everything gets in there, BTC may be a good option to use instead of euros. (I was in Croatia two years ago and one year ago and the gap between the prices was insane)

Personally,  I feel it's great to be able to buy or sell crypto in Croatian post office.
Before,  I was talking with many people about btc and crypto but most felt it's some kind of scam.
Now,  when I shared this new info about crypto exchange in the post office they couldn't believe it and became interesting again 😁
This decision will help acceptance of crypto in Croatia.

Are you sure that Croatian post office provides buying of crypto, from what I see it is only for selling Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stellar, Ripple, EOS? As far as I can see this is just a pilot project, and it is questionable whether it will be approved nationally.

I find it bad that only one city was chosen like they want less promotion, and as far I know they would get a lot more exposure if they decided to add more cities on Adriatic cost, for example Dubrovnik where most tourists go because the popular Game of Thrones series was filmed there.

I still didn't have chance to try this service from post office but  really hope that soon this service will be available in my local post office. Can't wait 😀

Several weeks ago I sew one review about this service in local section of this forum.
One user went to this post office and sold his btc funds.
He didn't have any problem,  just had to wait litl longer for confirmation and it seems worker in this post office still learning about this service  😁
I also sew some articles about it in some Croatian online portals but didn't see any official reaction until now.

No, we can't send a letter and pay with bitcoin but we can exchange bitcoin to local currency.

I had Bitcoin Discussion on ignore and just un-ignored it, so I missed this thread completely--and I must say, wow!  This is a great service IMO, even if there's a premium to be paid upon exchanging your crypto.  I'm sure there are a lot of folks in Croatia who don't have an easy way to convert bitcoin to cash.  If only the United States had a thing like this.

I'm curious, too--not necessarily about interest from authorities, but I'm wondering if a lot of people have used the service.  Nice to see some crypto adoption, even if it's in a country that I'll never visit.  Every little bit helps.
