Successfully used as standalone a couple of times.  Suddenly it won't open, either with clicking on it or right click and choosing "open".

Deleted it entirely and reinstalled.  Same thing.

Deleted it and installed using the Windows Installer.  Same thing.

What gives?

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Perhaps the install folder is messed up somehow?

I assume you have your seed safely secured and can delete the Electrum folder in C:/Users/YOU/AppData/Roaming/.  DO NOT DELETE the wallet file if you DO NOT have your seed backed-up.

Just trying to remove a point of failure (the wallet causing issues).

Yes, my seed is secured.

I'll give that a shot, thank you.

It's incredibly frustrating, I've been sitting here for three hours trying to remedy it. I'll update as to whether I'm able to make it work.

Deleted that folder, and was able to open Electrum and put my seed in to restore the wallet.

Now it's just been saying "connecting" for the last ten minutes, arglebargrrrrrhhhh.

I guess I'll go take a quick shower and quit staring at it.  I don't want to interrupt it, it's so tempting to just close it out and try again though.

Just change the server?

Wow, I was able to get in, but now it says there are no transactions for those wallets and my balance is 0.

I have the wallet info saved onto a different document, and I verified by cross checking them just now that it's the correct wallet that I deposited coins into.

Now what?

It was a small amount, but still... MINE.

And, it  reappeared.

Problem now appears to be completely solved.

Thanks again for all your help.
