What happens after recovering a hacked account

What happens if you recover an account that was hacked two years ago, and within this two year time period, the hacker managed to get your account blacklisted by several legitimate forum users? Would you be able to prove your innocence if you showed evidence that the account was hacked and then recovered?

You can get your account back, but let hacked account continously abused over two years or more is terrible.  I believe if you follow steps required and guide by new account recovery procedures, you might get yours back (if you have enough proof of ownership), but yeah I don't think negative trusts, flags will be removed. Whatsoever reasons are, and real owner did not scammed, hacker user hacked account to scam others. So, consequences for people whom got scammed is real. I don't think owner can do any sort of compensation for people whom lost money for hacker.

Account owner claims to have been hacked twice within a few weeks and both times there was a scam attempt by the alleged hacker(s). Account owner doesn't take responsibility for the damages. Avoid any deals with this user.

Here are somethings what you need to do after recovered your hacked account:

- Delete all the posts made after the hack.(It also saves your account from being banned permanently for plagiarism if there is any)

- Request the negative trust or any kind of feedback left by the person to be removed by letting them know your account is hacked in that time period.

- Contribute to the forum as much as you can.

Users can't blacklist you from using this forum. Unless you mean you got blacklisted from signature campaigns, but if that's your main concern after being away from the forum for 2 years, chances are you're returning for the wrong reasons.

If you mean being blacklisted by a campaign manager I guess you do have the right to ask him to remove it and implicate your reason that it isn't right because the one that used your account is a spammer. Don't worry I know campaign managers will take a look on the issue in regards to hacked accounts if only proven it is really hacked.

In case something similar happens in the future, it will be easier for you to prove your innocence by simply signing a message from your staked address.

I have no idea how long it will take to recover a hacked account, 2 years as you've mentioned is too long IMO.

Some accounts got hacked here but an owner gave a warning by making a newbie account and DT will tag the hack account so it will be visible to people and it will not be use in scam activities.

There aren't any official guidelines for that. You would need to post enough evidence, like others said, that your account got hacked and how long you didn't have access to it. Regarding the blacklisting and possible negative feedback left on the account it is up to each member individually if they want to remove those. You would have to talk to them one by one, explain your situation. Some would probably understand and if everything you say can be verified they could remove your 'restrictions'.

If the account was used to scam someone that person might be harder to convince and could even ask for compensation or an explanation why it took you 2 years to realize that your account got hacked.

Okay, so, I did have a Bitcoin address posted on the forum a while ago. I am currently in the process of recovering the account.

The account was hacked because of a vulnerability on Bitcointalk's end, so there was nothing I could do to stop it.

At the time they did not even send me an email alert saying the email of the account had been changed.

Anyway, I have all the email addresses linked with the account, except for the one that the hacker used. It didn't take me two years to realize my account was hacked, rather, I knew it was hacked within a few months when I couldn't login, and when I tried to recover the password, it said no account was associated with my email address. I thought this was a glitch at first, then I saw someone posting with my account in Turkish.

I did ask a helpful user to leave a trust rating that the account was hacked, and after he made it to default trust, the hacker promptly stopped using my account.

I'm already in the process of recovering the account.

Follow the procedure in admin thread (I gave in my previous post).
Of your post that cointains your Bitcoin address has not yet been edited (by hackers), you can use that address to sign a message. That will be a plus point for you. Here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0
Recover your account first, then let's see what happens with tags/ flags, that certainly hard to solve.
