This rematch is just a formality that the time of Andy Ruiz holding the belt is over. I can't see a chance that he would win the rematch as Joshua will be more careful this time and he need not to slug it out with Ruiz, just score points and he will win the fight.

That's likely what he is going to do because he knows Ruiz has a short reach and move slowly, he cannot slug it out with Ruiz, because Ruiz is strong has fast hands, the worst thing that he'll do is to slug it out with Ruiz, if he can do that he can win by decision, but he is a challenger and a challenger should bring the fight to the champion and not the other way around.
This is the strategy that he was using during the first rounds of the fight and it worked perfectly against Ruiz, his mistake was trying to impress the public by going for the KO when it was clear that despite the down Ruiz was not really affected that much, then he was hit by the fast hands of Ruiz and it went downhill from that moment.

So if Joshua wants to win he needs to fight in a smart way and use his size to his advantage and keep Ruiz at a distance in which only him can damage him, if he does not then his size becomes a disadvantage and he will simply become a huge target for Ruiz.

What makes this fight so exciting for boxing aficionados and bettors is they want to know if Joshua can really get back and what new he has to show, for me  Ruiz's wins is not a fluke, he totally dominated him and Joshua did not lose by a single punch, he quit because he cannot take it anymore.

If you study the fight, we are seeing the usual dominant Joshua until he gets hit by Ruiz's fast and heavy hands, I think the fight will go on where it left in their first fight.

This isnt only applied on Boxing but in all sorts of sports. Its never been good to look down on someone specially to your opponent because
you wouldnt know if there would be some lucky punch would able to hit you.Even you do know your capability is much better than the other
side but these circumstances would really turn the table upsidedown. On the upcoming fight im pretty sure that Joshua will reclaim that belt.

Maybe Anthony Joshua was over confident that he can just blow away Andy Ruiz. And another factor I've seen for his lost though is that Ruiz is not his original opponent, it's Jarrell Miller. So he might not be pump or psyched for Andy Ruiz prior to the fight that's why his mind is not on this guy but the next fighter in line (Wilder). Anyway, there are no excuses, it's time for Joshua to get back in track and he is still the favourite to win despite the "infamous" upset.
Past is past and cant be changed no matter what would be the reasons behind that loss or on what Joshua is thinking those times it doesn't really matter that much because he had been defeated. If he's thinking way ahead on upcoming big fights from those strong opponents then he musnt get too easy into those boxers that he would fight up along the way because underestimating someone could really mess up your record unexpectedly and that's why we do really see some upset or unexpected fight results.

What makes this fight so exciting for boxing aficionados and bettors is they want to know if Joshua can really get back and what new he has to show, for me  Ruiz's wins is not a fluke, he totally dominated him and Joshua did not lose by a single punch, he quit because he cannot take it anymore.

Well, technically a single punch did change the tune of the fight. As soon as AJ got that punch to his temple after knocking down Ruiz, he wasn't the same from then on.

But Ruiz did his job, he was all over him after wobbling him, and didn't give AJ even a second to breath.

Now that we know that Ruiz has that killer instinct, we can see that he's going to capitalize on any mistakes AJ makes in the rematch. This is a real 50/50 fight, but I'm still slightly edging toward AJ redeeming himself.

The 1st fight was like a page from Sun Tzu's legendary "Art of War"

Anthony Joshua, and many in the boxing industry did not fully acknowledge what Ruiz was capable of until that fight...

Now technically I see the 2nd fight as even more in favor of Ruiz because Joshua has had to make radical changes in his style after embarrassingly kissing the canvas so many times, now he is slimmer and trying to be more nimble,

but it's very rare to see a boxer pick up new skills at a top class level in a such a short amount of time...

However there will be strong pressure by the organizers to get Joshua to win as he has more sales potential, so the fight can go either way...

The fight will pick where it left off, Joshua knows he will be facing a guy who can take his punch and a boxer with a fast hard hands, I don't see any fix he cannot go toe to toe he can only do hit and run, he cannot slug with Ruiz or he will be in a big trouble for the rest of the fight I think he has not faced a fighter like Ruiz.

Doesn't really matter how much Joshua slims down, he was completely outclassed in the first fight, and he really didn't even try to dodge most of the punches. He just took a full clip of punches right to the head and body practically every time he hit Ruiz with a good shot. He then just closed down, with a high guard but was still taking shots to the temple.

Even if there is strong pressure on the judges to award him any decisions, the next fight is unlikely to go the distance to reach the scorecards. Someone is getting knocked-the-f-out.

I am not sure he was underestimating Andy Ruiz, Anthony Joshua was making his US debut and everyone still thinks that he was underestimating someone to have an impact, Andy Ruiz was too fast and skillful and Joshua did not have an answer for that and so is the reason he quit after being knocked down multiple times, he will be better prepared and have a game plan and so does Andy Ruiz  Wink Grin.

That means we are going to see the same match Smiley
Somehow I have a feeling, that Ruiz will win once again. He will eat all the Joshua punches and surprize him with speed, finishing with tko.

He really SHOULD because he already learned a lesson from such bad experience and committing it once again is stupidity. If this rematch will happen then better for him to treat Ruiz as as his biggest threat of his career for him to stay focus at all times. He should fight him like the way he fight Klitschko — game face on!

I don't see any fix he cannot go toe to toe he can only do hit and run, he cannot slug with Ruiz or he will be in a big trouble for the rest of the fight
Indeed, he must dash in - punch - dash out since he has a long reach. Staying close to a shorter opponent is a bad move so I think he what he can do in certain instances is to clinch. It sounds being p*ssy but that was a clean strategy after all Cheesy.

Was Anthony Joshua really outclassed during the first fight? He knocked down Andy Ruiz which was also Andy's first time to be knocked down by anyone according to some articles.

If he was outclassed, I reckon it would be more because Anthony Joshua was not fighting on 100% condition.

He was also knocked down on the same round by Andy Ruiz, Joshua should have finished that fight by round 3. Fortunately, Ruiz quickly recovered and put Anthony Joshua's ass on the floor. And from then on, you can see that Joshua is done. He can't hurt Ruiz, and Andy was coming forward with everything he got, so I would say Joshua was outclassed and never recovered from the first knocked down. His excuses is that he is looking for the Wilder fight, and not the fighter in front of him.

The interesting thing is that if you look at practically every heavyweight, sports announcer, or even other experts, almost all of them will say something like "I knew Andy Ruiz would beat AJ". However, if you actually go through Youtube and look at these people prior to the fight, almost all of them either refused to identify who would win, or actually said that Joshua should beat Ruiz.

That's the annoying thing about predictions, hindsight is always 20/20 and everyone likes to claim to be infallible. Literally no point listening to a word that comes out of these fools mouths.

After watching their first fight I am very convinced that Joshua will have a hard time against Ruiz, it's not a lucky punch it's more of total domination, before the fight I am not interested to watch and just want the outcome after seeing Ruiz, but after he surprised all of us, everything changes just like that.

Everyone was laughing at Ruiz chances of winning during their first fight. That includes me, because who really gives much of a chance from an 11 minute late sub?

Make no mistake, Ruiz is a decent heavyweight. His lone lost was a very close majority decision on ex champ Joseph Parker's backyard. But as a late sub and a not so active career after his first lost? No expert will pick him to win that fateful night.

The best excuse AJ's camp made on that lost was that the fighter was sick that night and his dad tried to pullout but promoter Eddie Hearn convinced the camp that the fight should happen. And there's also the pressure thing since it was AJ' US debut. All the other excuses like that lucky punch sent by the gods, etchetera are jokes.😂😂😂

Ruiz odds at 3 looks very good and tempting. The rematch is a neutral place. AJ could have psychological effects from that beatdown he took. AJ IMO could have taken 1 or 2 tune ups before this rematch.

My prediction is Ruiz wins again. By stoppage most probably.

Cant deny with that psychological effect on Joshua but for sure he do already overcome and do realize it but if not then that would be a big problem.
I cant see for Ruiz to win up this match up though but still not a good thing to be confident about because 2nd time beat up would really still happen.
Preparation on both fighters is there. If AJ do got this rematch then for sure there would be a 3rd time match showing off on whose the better guy.

Anthony Joshua is really eager to prove himself that he is in top of the heavy weight division, which I think is a big mistake from his side. I know that AJ wasn't himself when he fought Andy Ruiz and having this rematch to the man who defeated him won't increase his chances of claiming the throne back, he needs to assess where he is in this division and the only way to prove that is to fight other boxers in the top 10 preferably the ones who talked trash to him when he got defeated like Deontay Wilder. With this move he looks like as if he has no way to go. To a lot of people maybe now they are all saying that the 2nd match win is on AJ's side which I think would be the wrong guess, one advantage AJ has is he already knows his mistake and let us just hope he takes advantage of it.

Right, this is a must-win situation for Anthony Joshua, I mean if he take a beating from Andy Ruiz, then his stocks will fall down hard and he will be back to ground zero and start to rebuild his career again. However, I think Joshua is ready to show that he is still the same man who destroyed everyone along his path to become one of the top 3 Heavyweight. He just underestimate Ruiz that night and wanted to prove that he still has it and destroying Ruiz will give him back the confidence and fight the winner of Wilder vs Fury rematch.

We all know that career doesnt last forever and he will continue to get defeated not only with Ruiz then its over for his career.
If he would be beaten 2nd time on this rematch,he wont back to zero but regaining its popularity and recognition would already be hard.
We know on how people do react and sees fighters that arent already capable of. Preparation for the rematch is quite long and just right for them to be ready.
