Latest images of venue for Anthony Joshua v Andy Ruiz Jr 2 has fans underwhelmed

Heavyweight rivals will have their rematch in a specially-built stadium in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia on December 7

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/boxing/latest-images-venue-anthony-joshua-20882448

What is there to be underwhelmed about? It's an incomplete stadium, I doubt it is anywhere near complete yet. There is still almost a month to go until the fight, and it doesn't actually take that long to build a stadium.

Either way, the capacity of the stadium isn't as large as Wembly or MSG, but there is a large number of Saudi's that are looking to experience the thrill of boxing and are willing to put the money up to built an entire stadium for it.

Let's not complain until after we see the final product.

Haven't read the article but if isn't as large as Wembly then probably this is just a test on how Saudi's are going to react in this fight. So probably in the future they will build more boxing stadium if this Joshua vs Ruiz will be a success. Remember that there's a lot of billionaires in Saudi and are willing to invest if they see that their country could be a boxing mecca in the future.

There was indeed a lot of billionaire from the Arab nations which will also like to add more money to their wealth cause sport investment is among the quick scheme.
With that been said, i dont see any reason why fans should underwhelmed because the hardest part of the fighting stadium which Joshua and Ruiz will use are already completed.

The Arabs are investing in sports for a long time, they own majority of the shares in Manchester City and Arsenal as well as other clubs and they completely own, PSG and club Malaga, you will see many big time investments from Asian countries and Middle Eastern countries in sports around the world and that is going on for many years.

They are known to built exotic eye catchy buildings and they will create an entire stadium to conduct the event and they are planning to attract sports and tourism in a large scale.

Right, another way to spread their money across is thru sports. And I believed that this is just the beginning, no doubt that the stadium that is being built for this fight is going to be exotic and this is just one step for them to sponsor another big fight in the future.

They won't built it for nothing, of course they are expecting a profit on it for long term.

Big fights in boxing are happening mostly in the US only, now if we want it world class, we should show it to the world and I just like what the promoters are doing with this rematch, it will surely gain more popularity not only for these 2 fighters but on the boxing as a whole.

Meanwhile, Andy Ruiz just got a lifetime cheque of $13 million in this rematch alone. Man, I guess that was more money than all of the 42 prize fights Beyonce Wilder had. Beyonce wanted Ruiz to repeat over AJ for him to unify the belts. If Ruiz is wise enough which I believe they are, they will demand bigger money, bigger share and probably a Mexican city as the venue. Ruiz team for sure knows they will remain an underdog against Wilder. But before this, let's watch Ruiz spank AJ again.

I agree with you about Ruiz demanding bigger money for rematch but that $13millionyou mentioned is not only the money he's going to make through the fight but changing the fight venue to Mexican city is something I don't agree with and Ruiz spanking AJ again cause Ruiz weight lost strategy will affect when the two clash even Mike Tyson said it.

Andy Ruiz Playing Risky Game Ahead of Anthony Joshua Rematch

For Andy Ruiz, June 1 was the stuff of dreams. But it wasn't all magic and unicorns; part of it was like showing up to high school in your underwear.

Mike tyson? that's my idol in heavily back in the day but he is just a boxer, Ruiz trainer knows better I guess, they would not do stupid things that would put Ruiz at risk of losing his title.

Ruiz team would really do their best to prove out that the previous fight wasn't a fluke but its hard to believe that AJ doesn't make any preparations too to regain on whats lost to him specially his pride.

They wont really give out the belt without giving a goddamn fight.December is fast approaching and people are being too hyped to this fight.

Well that was a whole load of fluff about nothing.

Sure, Ruiz is the first Mexican heavyweight champion, but the guy has about as much personality as a sack of potatoes.

All he does is repeat the same lines over and over. "I'm blessed", "working hard", "first Mexican heavyweight champion". I actually hope AJ beats him just so he can go back to not getting any screen time.

That said, AJ won't have an easy job.

As you have said, Mike Tyson is a fighter who have be in the ring so many time with different boxers as well and the only person who can tell us what it is, is people like him who have been through it.
Mind you, Ruiz trainer job is to prepare him for the fight and he won't enter the ring with him when the fight happen.

You're but Anthony team are not playing either and you know it either that the first fight between the two shouldn't have happen in the first place. Besides, Anthony was busy doing something else instead of getting him ready for Ruiz fight.
Isn't that a fluke?

Im not sure if you fellas have seen this picture. Andy is getting sharper, looking way better than five months ago.

What do you think? Is it an advantage of Ruiz or should it be easier for AJ to break a smaller American-Mexican wall?  Grin

^^ Well we can't say if it's really a good strategy to lost some weight in this fight. I mean everything is perfect in the first fight so why chance now? Maybe his power is not there because he could also be losing muscle mass along the way.

And we won't find it out until we see his performance on the ring. But I would speculate that he takes his advantage on this one and could haunt him if he loses his fight with Joshua here, just saying.

^^ Well we can't say if it's really a good strategy to lost some weight in this fight. I mean everything is perfect in the first fight so why chance now? Maybe his power is not there because he could also be losing muscle mass along the way.
Its our own speculation but we are not expert, we will see it in the ring this coming fight night.
Ruiz is definitely not underestimating Joshua here as he has prepared for this 2nd fight, including losing some weight which could make him faster I guess.

And we won't find it out until we see his performance on the ring. But I would speculate that he takes his advantage on this one and could haunt him if he loses his fight with Joshua here, just saying.

Exactly, lets just enjoy this fight and bet on the fighter we think will win.

Deontay wilder not Beyonce, do you like Beyonce this much?

All of us watching in the first fight and the fight is going perfectly for Andy. but what Andy feels might be different, his weight may be a hindrance to his aggressiveness to launch an attack on AJ. if Andy wins again in this second fight I think there is definitely no trilogy, but if AJ wins there will be the third fight

If they want to make more money on this two fighters, they will have to take this to a trilogy fight.
I believe Ruiz being the underdog here needs to win by KO again so he will surely be a winner, if this will go to score card the corrupt judges might play and they'll give this fight to joshua.

just imagine how big they will make in the fight number 3 if the scenario above will happen.

Guys, you should watch this interview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOXFH0f9kp4

I think Ruiz mentally more prepared than Joshua. On minutes 09:48, he believes that AJ quit the last match. What do you think?
