Andy Ruiz was playing mind games with Anthony Joshua about trimming down for the rematch and now when the weighs ins are over, Anthony Joshua weighs less than his previous fight while Andy Ruiz is weighing more , looks like Ruiz was playing mind games with Anthony Joshua and everyone was talking about Ruiz slimming down and the impact and the quote by Tyson is true, the game plan will be there until you get hit and we will see in a few hours that who will land the big punch .

I'm intrigued to see what'll happen here.
I've just been reading about the previous contest and was struck by most of the people talking about it acting like there was something wrong with Joshua rather than him just being crap.
I can't really think of any other sport where people speak like someone's already won and barely acknowledge the challenger unless it's a blue riband event. It seems to be the norm for boxing.
I'd like to see Ruiz kick botty again.

2 hours left for the fight. This looks like a classical fight of tall athletic bodybulider type guy against regular overweight guy. I can't help but cheer a bit for Ruiz.

I reckon he's going to do it. It's his opponent who has everything to prove and to have your smooth ascent stopped like that is going to throw a lot into question. He's going to be much more make or break whereas it's all gravy for Ruiz. It looks like plenty of boxing pros are settling on Ruiz too. Anyway, not long now.

Ruiz is a true meaning of "appearance is deceiving" Joshua is more prepared to this fight than he was in the first one. Ruiz has nothing to prove, but neither going to "sit" in defence. This fight will end with judge decision, not with a KO/TKO.

Who's watching the fight now? Seems like Joshua knows how to clinch already and seems to be leading the fight. Jab, jab and clinch, the game plan of Joshua as expected. i thought it's a boring fight but it is not. Hang on there AJ . Edit: Ruiz, just can't corner AJ here. 2nd edit: And that's it, AJ have reclaimed the belt from Ruiz via unanimous decision. 118-110, 118-110 and 119-109 was the score card. Congratulations on those who believe on Joshua and bet on him. @Stadus, thanks for the heads up man, 5.60 odds is not bad. My bet is not that big though lol.

I think Joshua played very smart here, using his advantage, Ruiz get tired chasing him and I think the extra weight might have some effect on Ruiz on the second half of the fight and he wasn't able to cut the ring enough to corner Joshua.

It was a beautiful fight and Anthony Joshua controlled the fight really well and in this fight AJ controlled everything and Ruiz was not even able to land ant combinations throughout the fight which is incredible considering Ruiz controlled the first fight because of his fast hands and combinations and he completely shut down his game and what impressed me is his after fight speech as he was humble in defeat and humble in victory and Ruiz asked for a trilogy, i am not expecting Anthony Joshua to give a trilogy right now but we might see that in the future.

I haven't seen the match yet and pretty much I don't have it in our regular channel but I have high hopes for Anthony Joshua and seeing how massive Andy Ruiz Jr. gets might have been the problem for him but Anthony Joshua just played very safe and smart here despite that he can take head-on Andy Ruiz he doesn't go beyond that and seeing that the fight ended up in a Unanimous Decision makes me realize this, but pretty much I need to watch the whole fight to make my opinion valid, and Congrats to Anthony Joshua for the win.

This is actually a good fight, no confusion who really wins because it was a clear victory for Joshua. And no bashing from the one who lost. But sometimes boxing fans want something to argue with after the fight. Boxing is a sport that a lot have already withdrawn their interest because of so many loopholes going on.

It's a good and well discipline fight for Joshua as he won the fight via unanimous decision, he is now the second time world champion, now we can talk of potential match again Wilder who experts think should finally happen. There will be a third but I don't see it happening soon, here's the interview. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptV2uKmMuW0

Congratulations to Joshua for a well deserve performance he fought intelligently, Ruiz is asking for a rematch but I don't it should happen soon, Joshua already studied his style and how he will fight him intelligently, it could have been different if the fight is a split decision, a fight with Wilder or Fury is what will generate interest like this one.

AJ gives up a boxing clinic here, he masterfully shows that he still has it to get back his belt from Ruiz. Game plan was perfect from the first round, go around in circles, used his jabs, don't let Ruiz corner him, resulting in a decision for AJ.
And with that strategy, Ruiz was frustrated as he can't get inside and used his power, because of AJ's superior technique. For me, a trilogy is open, let Wilder vs Fury II fight and AJ finishing Andy Ruiz for all the glory and marbles.

Part III is always possible and I don't know if the results will be altered if Ruiz will truly prepare on this one. Because aside from gaining weight, he claimed that he's not really prepared for this fight. https://www.cbssports.com/boxing/news/anthony-joshua-outpoints-andy-ruiz-jr-to-reclaim-unified-heavyweight-titles-in-saudi-arabia/Joshua on the other hand, really did prepare on this one. That is to reclaim his belt and of course to prove that he has still the power. If both camps will have do their rigorous training, what do you think would the outcome will be? Part III???

That seems plain bizarre to me. He must be aware that the first fight was regarded as a blip by others. The second fight should've been him confirming that it wasn't. He should've gone all out. A third one would be deviating from the Joshua master plan. They have him out of the way. Why would they want another visit?

Another rematch is possible, in the end of the fight Andy Ruiz interrupts the interview of Anthony Joshua and he says to the audience "who wants to see the 3rd fight". I know that the both team will prepare on the upcoming rematch and for me it will be the revenge of Andy Ruiz. Both of the fighters are willing to win and I know that they will both work hard to be prepared in their 3rd match.

Anthony Joshua was better of the two boxers and deserved this win. Andy Ruiz was never going to win the match specially when he made the statement before the start of match that he have gain 15 pounds weight one day before the match. Such lames excuses will not take anything away from Joshua as he was a clear winner.
