Betting odds for the favorite opened at 1.33 and ended up around 1.45. Another case where the market was clueless or didn't have info on Ruiz preparation, I mean he put on 7 extra kilos (and they were certainly not muscles...) I saw videos of him, eating junk food with his team, they celebrated his June win a bit too much. On the other hand Joshua made sure not to lose again to this guy. Very easy money at decent odds When I read that he had put on some weight and also saw some photos circulating which saw him somehow muscular, I thought he had been training very hard for the fight and I was disappointed by his performance in the entirety of the match. But AJ failure to knock him out kinda make his victory incomplete for him.

Do you agree on Yahoo's Kevin Iole article here? Simply short of calling Ruiz deliberately losing this fight? (At least that's why I interpret it). Andy Ruiz Jr. took the money and ran.
He took a fight that he had the capability of winning and he squandered it long before he ever made the trek to Saudi Arabia. He acted as if he’d hit the lottery on June 1 when he knocked out Anthony Joshua in the seventh round at Madison Square Garden in New York to win three of the four major heavyweight belts. On Saturday in Saudi Arabia, he paid for that dearly.
“I didn’t prepare how I should have,” Ruiz said. “I gained too much weight, but you know what? I don’t want to give no excuses. He won. He boxed me around. You better [expletive] believe I’m going to get in the [expletive] best shape of my life [for a third fight].”
Well, it’s too late for that.
This was a con job. Andy Ruiz defrauded the public by not even trying to get into shape. And then to say afterward that he’d try harder next time was one of the most galling things a fighter has ever said after a loss.
https://sports.yahoo.com/an-unprepared-overweight-andy-ruiz-jr-will-struggle-to-live-down-his-loss-to-anthony-joshua-000433363.htmlDo you think Kevin has a point here, or he is simply over reacting? That is a clickbait article. There might be some truth that Andy Ruiz did not train well and did not have the discipline for the training camp to the latest fight because the money might have made him lazy. However, writing an article that he did it to scam everyone is clickbait.

Ruiz, needs to get over his loss and accept his fate just like Anthony did before he makes the right correction.

Im with this one that theres no such fighter would go to the ring which isnt unprepared.Going back to some sparring videos with Ruiz that shows off a little bit slimmed version of Ruiz but when the fight day arrives and when hes called on the corner we do able to see such unchanged body build.Excuses is there when comitting some mistakes but as said its better for him to accept and move on regarding on what happened.Asking for trilogy? No it wont happen yet AJ job already done.

I'm not a lawyer but I guess one does not have to study law to know that news articles are not evidences. They cannot hold water in court regardless of what is written on it. Well, if the writer himself did the interview, and everything is recorded, and he heard him say that he sold the game to AJ or intentionally skipped regular training rounds to make sure he will not be fit on the fight day, then he could be the witness himself. But then I'm afraid no one will actually sue Andy for being in bad shape, putting up a bad performance, and losing.

That's just an excuse because he got beaten easily by AJ, and maybe trying to get the sympathy of the people here to give him another chance to fight AJ. Boxers like this doesn't deserve the respect of the people, they, look like he was telling that he was not serious on the rematch.

When you get defeated every fighter will have some sort of excuses, he was not training hard as if someone held him back from training after getting the biggest win of his boxing career, When Anthony Joshua got defeated in the first fight we heard the same excuse that he was not taking the fight seriously, they are fighting for a world title and if they are not serious if the stakes then you cannot blame anyone else.

Agree with that, even the legend Manny Pacquiao made an excuse after he got defeated by Mayweather, he told the media that he was fighting with an injury but at least when he fought Mayweather it doesn't look like he loss like what its in the scorecard, this loss of Ruiz was no doubt a clear loss. Maybe he just have to start moving on and find another opponent where he can knockout so his name will once again come out and be popular and maybe AJ would give him a trilogy if that would happen.

What a lame excuse on the Ruiz camp. If what he said is true, he's not worthy of a trilogy with Joshua. The first fight is somewhat a luck for Andy Ruiz while Joshua was careless on that one. Time for both fighters to move on as the fight is over, those excuses either true or not will not help him in his next fight.

I do not mind seeing a trilogy and i expect Anthony Joshua to defeat Andy Ruiz via stoppage if they face again and i am sure they will book the trilogy at a later time, now it is time for Anthony Joshua to fight some easy opponents and establish his confidence as a fighter before taking on Wilder or Fury as you cannot run away from these boxing power houses for a long time .

I expect Anthony Joshua to win but I don't expect by stoppage, it's not good for Anthony Joshua to change his previous strategy when he easily get a win, trying to knock Ruiz makes him vulnerable if Ruiz will able to find an open space for counter, he was comfortable with the strategy that helps him to win, why change, if we expect a knockout win that should be coming from Ruiz if he is lucky enough.

If Andy Ruiz is not training well and as a result could not give a good fight to at least entertain the crowd who bought expensive tickets to the fight, then he is indirectly scamming everyone. Giving a less than quality performance due to negligence and less focused-training is a way of scamming fans. This article is more a conspiracy theory. In boxing however conspiracy theories could be very near to reality. For the record though, Kevin is a well respected boxing writer and a member of BWA (boxing writer association) that's why I posted the link here and not some random writers out there who would write for click-bait. So I consider him an insider and well knowledgeable, so it might be a conspiracy theory but yes, could be some truth in it. In that case, can the article be used to begin a case to sue Andy Ruiz because he scammed the fans or is it only the writer's opinion that Andy scammed? I'm not a lawyer but I guess one does not have to study law to know that news articles are not evidences. They cannot hold water in court regardless of what is written on it. Well, if the writer himself did the interview, and everything is recorded, and he heard him say that he sold the game to AJ or intentionally skipped regular training rounds to make sure he will not be fit on the fight day, then he could be the witness himself. But then I'm afraid no one will actually sue Andy for being in bad shape, putting up a bad performance, and losing. Yes that is why the article claiming a conspiracy theory that Andy Ruiz scammed the fans is clickbait and only an opinion written by a man who might be hating on the Mexican for losing that way. Maybe he made a big wager on him hehehe.

That was a bad fight. Seriously, if I knew they will fight like that, I would have spent my time doing something better for more fun. The undercards sucks too. We got a Hrgovic who enjoyed hitting behind the back of the head of a useless Molina. A fat ass Dillian Whyte trying act like a decent boxer against a senior citizen Mariuz Wach. An old and past primed Povetkin against a young dirty fighter Michael Hunter (glad it was a draw, Hunter was garbage).

It seems Ruiz learned from his mistakes that's why he's calling for a third match, if a third match is gonna take place, Joshua should up his game, else, Ruiz might knock him out, Ruiz really get the punches he needed to knock Joshua out because Joshua was just running around the ring, I guess that helped him against being knocked out by Ruiz There is never going to be a third fight if Ruiz wanted to prove to the world that he was better than Joshua then the second fight was his only opportunity, the world doesn't need a third fight to determine who is the best between the two because now it is very clear, the first fight was nothing but a fluke, Joshua made too many mistakes and Ruiz was smart enough and in a good enough shape to take advantage of them, the second fight proved that Joshua will never make those mistakes again and Ruiz does not really have the heart of a champion.
