If you watch "Shark Tank" you will understand how these rich people operate. They always want to protect their own ego and do not want to invest in anything if there are not a guaranteed "win" or profit at the end. This is why they structure these deals in their favor from the start.
The entrepreneurs go to these investors looking for financial assistance and some advice and support, but these Sharks are just there to exploit them and to make more money, so they make these ridiculous deals to impress their peers and they brag about it.
So, you recently saw Mark Cuban talking a lot of crap about Bitcoin and bananas, so it is just natural that Kevin O'Leary would try to emulate what Mark was doing to protect his own ego.
