Hello everyone, I invested with Mr William Morgan he has a instagram account that goes with user name "btc_mine".
I invested with him 700$ for a month and when I had to take my profit from him I deposited 50$ as transfer fee and 25$ for MSWO and QSWO, my profit as said was 1300$ and when he was about to make the transfer he said that his mining platform requires my wallet to have 80% of my profit(1072$). I some how managed and paid him but the process got delayed by 72 hrs as It took me 3 days to manage the money.
But then he said that to get the process on pending he invested 150$, then he transferred 2250$ in nonspendable bitcoin format. And then he said that due to delay in processing I require 600$ more in my wallet.
In all this transfer process he asked my wallet id and password my wallet is empty as of now.
The non spendable 2250$ btc are also gone.
And now he is saying that I will have to deposit another 600$ in my wallet to get all the money and profit back.
Please help me I invested what I had.
You can see his profile in instagram as "btc_mine".

Hi, The said William Morgan has regularly shared with me the screenshots of his transactions daily and are verified on blockchain myself. His address is "1Kr6QSydW9bFQG1mXiPNNu6WpJGmUa9i1g".
He is very active on Instagram as well and has uploaded a photograph 5 mins prior only. He belongs to Romania, his watsapp no. Is +1 (610) 910-9598. But whenever I try to do video call with him he says that it causes signal interruptions in his mining farm and hence cannot pickup the call. Please can you guide me further

This sounds like scam. Why do people always fall for this? If you would have had there money for real, you wouldn't have had to deposit for a fee.

then he transferred 2250$ in nonspendable bitcoin format

Technical gibberish. There's no such thing as "nonspendable bitcoin format". Again, it looks like scam.

And now he is saying that I will have to deposit another 600$ in my wallet to get all the money and profit back.

After he scammed you fro the initial money, he tricked you once to deposit more. He tries it again.

I guess that you have fallen for a "cloud mining" scam. They only show numbers and don't mine anything. Those big numbers (1072$, 2250$) are just numbers, you didn't have any profit. The ones that don't understand that the businesses "too good to be true" are scam, fall into it and depositing. Tough luck.
You'll need help from authorities and a ton of luck to recover anything.

Harsh bro, you fell for an disgusting scam and you can stop expecting the refund. All your money is gone for sure! When someone promises $1300 profit from just $700 investment within 30 days of time, always stay away! Bitcoin mining doesn't fetch that much profit even for veteran miners! You should have understood!

You can lodge a complain with Police but won't be much helpful! Going forward, refrain from any "get rich quick" scheme! 99.99% of it are scams! Don't deposit any more money in your wallet!

It looks like a scam by all means, as @NeutoricFish indicates. The Instagram profile you mention (“btc_mine”) seems to lead to one that has not posted anything since August 2018, and that has a Telegram channel that is also inactive since then (in Arabic). Is that the really correct profile?

I don't know what have you eaten my friend, have you ever ask someone from anybody before investing to that guys?

It's a common sense now a days to make a little research on crypto project or any related online business since in the internet they will not put their real information as we can make as many dummy account in social medias.

Next time please ask your friends or other people if someone make a transaction with them before.

remember that scam is everywhere.

As a bit of a tip, if you search the address you'll come across this: https://www.reddit.com/r/bitfinex/comments/7ihnz5/now_almost_350000000_in_hot_wallet_bitfinex/

The address is owned by Bitfinex which is an exahnge. It is nothing to do with btc_mine or anything they do. I'm sure i've seen that instagram before but can't work out where it's from . Anyway, take your losses as a lesson and be happy in the fact it was only $1000. I'd advocate for you plotting to scam your money back from him (not from anyone else) but I'm not sure how easy/hard that'd be, he might not have much either.

Side note, if you have 480BTC, you don't accept $50-1000 investments normally (sometimes you do but...)

Please explain to me why you give someone more money when they have scammed you once? You just handed over bitcoin 3 times in a row because you were promised if you did you will get the next amount. So how long will that go on for? Will you just keep blindly making deposits until you are all out of bitcoin?

I don't see how a call can interfere with mining. Where is his hash rate and mining pool? Does it even exist? Please don't tell me you took some person online word that they had miners?

If you ever asked for more money in order to "secure" future profits then it is a scam and clear give away.

Instagram? Bitcoin Scam? btc_mine? Mr. nobody? Shocked These shit scammers nowadays are spreading their disease at all social media platforms as possible.

No need to go deep for this just to said this is a scam. It's a 100% scam.

OP got amazed with that earning while sleeping scheme and blindly give the scammer money without thinking twice. With the amount involved, I don't know how come common sense not worked out there. It's a big loss and OP should take this experience as a lesson. Feel sorry for him.

I guess that you have fallen for a "cloud mining" scam.
yes, this is definitely the infamous "blockchain cloud mining investment" scheme
the scammer asked OP to create a new empty blockchain.com wallet for cloud mining,
then asked for wallet id and pass (temporary access) to do some settings on the wallet
but the truth is the scammer imports watch-only address and retrieves the seed phrase
which he will use to show fake locked/nonspendable mining profit and steal any btc you deposited in the wallet

@Harsh you have been scammed and your wallet has been compromised, never use it again
when looking for an investment opportunity, always use common sense
if you are in doubt, do google search, most likely it will direct you to one of the discussions in this forum
you can even start your own thread asking for information and opinions, like this thread... but too late now

Hi, there are several tricks to discover a suspected scam for newbie:
A. if the equipment is not shown on the reference site, something is wrong,
B. if the company is registered in uk, it could be another signal,
C. if the domain of the reference site was recently registered or will expire soon, same thing and finally
D. if the gain is proportionally high compared to the amount invested, run away, before the scammers run away with your money.

Hope these things can help you.

I just don't understand it why would people fall into this kind of tricks.
This has been around for so long and there are still some who would fall on this trick?
There are a lot of ways to earn you just need to study and learn before you earn.
Don't fall for the investment schemes learn to earn for yourself study trading or build your own mining farm.

You just got scammed, as there is nothing like mining for someone to get profit and I don't know who introduce you to such scam , you did what you suppose did in the first instance first last, by posting here what you pass through, instead of you asking first in this forum and let people tell you if you are right or not but now is drug after headache gone.

Don't be too anxious to have money in crypto step by step will it all, so I will advice to jearn from that and never give anyone yr password or private key to your wallet even if is yr brother as any money gone is bye gone.

there has never been any mining involved. this is a known scam that has been going on for some time now. usually the scammers operate on platforms such as Telegram where they engage in conversation with other people who usually don't have enough understanding of how bitcoin works and they start throwing some buzzwords at them to make it seem complicated and confuse them. in the end they are just taking your money by telling you a bunch of lies.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

You have been scammed. You don't invest money with just anyone you meet online. Even Genesis stopped paying me for long because of bitcoin difficult level, and hasflare terminated my mining contract making me lose my capital. Friend, you must never seek the easy way in crypto. Get to learn how to trade BTC/USD/USDT. forget paying some expert online, most are scammers who want to steal your fund.

People need to be aware and have some knowledge to avoid this kind of situation, its much better to make sure than end up feeling contrite about your decisions. Okay, it's definitely a scam, and an least you now know how to spot them:
1. The conditions are too good to be true. Doubling your investment in one month with mining? Doesn't sound realistic.
2. Whenever you're shown or told that you are eligible for big amounts of money but to get it you need to deposit a "small" fee - it's a scam.
3. Instagram is not the place to look for professional miners.
4. Non-spendable is not something Bitcoin can be.
I suggest you contact the police (cyberpolice, if you have it in your country), tell them the story and everything you know about the guy (that is, of course, if mining Bitcoin is legal in your country, you should probably check it first).

Forget whatever amount that you have paid to this Scammer and start again if possible after doing research on how to mine Cryptocurrency.

What you can do is report this incident to Instagram, so others like you do not fall prey to this guy.

Just to be more specific - Neve ever believes in easy money and fast money in cryptocurrency. Whoever offers you that is a scammer.

You should move this thread to the scam accusation section of this forum, here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0 because people needs to be informed about Instagram scams like this. The video call excuse is actually pathetic, because he can video call you from another location that are not close to his mining operation <That he obviously do not have> ... this is just a way for him to avoid being exposed.

Report his Instagram account and also try to report his mobile number to law enforcement in Romania. You might find that the mobile number is linked to a burner phone, so it would be pointless to trace him that way.  Roll Eyes

Anybody who asks for more money to release funds in your account is a scammer. In the unlikely event that they need a payment, they should deduct it from the balance in your account.

I've heard of all kinds of btc mining scams but this has to be the most daring one. The guy actually gave you a whatsapp number and kept talking with you? And all the while he didn't video you you still sent him money?

Report to the police immediately. Maybe you can get your money back but more importantly, you kill his scam and put him in jail.

How did you send money?
