First off, Ethereum is still considered an altcoin which means Bitcoin is the top dog, the coin with the most liquidity. And the Bitcoin price action usually reflects the sentiment in the whole of crypto. Ethereum needs to recover first and then it will beat the marketcap of Bitcoin by implementing the scaling solutions already.
Agree. Ethereum would need to work on improving itself first, before considering it as a true rival of Bitcoin. Scalability is key towards massive adoption within the mainstream world. While both Bitcoin and Ethereum lack scalability, the former is much more popular and widely accepted worldwide. For a very good reason, people seem to trust more Bitcoin than any other altcoin nowadays. Even if Ethereum continues to grow in development and innovation, it may not be able to overcome Bitcoin anytime soon. But, we cannot tell for sure as crypto behaves in strange and bizarre ways. What we could do is speculate what the outcome for both cryptocurrencies will be in the future. Until now, Ethereum has been doing fine as an alternative blockchain platform which provides greater functionalities than Bitcoin itself. It could serve well as a complement to the BTC blockchain than anything else. Bitcoin has been prove to be quite stable and resilient as a cryptocurrency for payments worldwide. It's largely limited for financial use, but it has been doing great over time. In the end, I believe that both BTC and ETH will survive for many years to come. If ETH overcomes BTC in the future (which I doubt it), it'll be quite a surprising event for many crypto enthusiasts and ordinary people alike. Just my opinion

The gap between the two (BTC and ETH) will always be wide. Bitcoin remains the pace setter and king, others are just alternatives, so let's not forget that in a hurry. I understand your points are valid, Ethereum has been good with developments although slow and steady. But I really do not think any altcoin can ever replace BTC someday.

I am also a proud bitcoin lover but i dont see any issue whenever ethereum will surpass it in the future. We are all talking about opportunities and more financial stability here. Not just name and popularity. If ETH will become a better investment coin in the future then so be it.

To replace Bitcoin I think it's the hardest thing. Indeed, Ethereum has good potential because the coin is continuously being developed and becomes number two after Bitcoin. You should also know that Bitcoin, a lot of adoption to be developed in real life. As for payment assets, there are a lot of big companies working with Bitcoin. So this makes Bitcoin increasingly popular among the community and will be very difficult to replace with other coins.

It may have a higher price than BTC but that doesn't make it the most trusted and father of cryptos. There are many coins such as maker and bitcoincash that are of higher value than ether but ether is always seen as the number 2 or 3 in crypto. The same will happen when it comes to bitcoin and ether. The price may go higher than BTC but BTC will always be the best to look out for.

I am guessing that too beat this dominance, ETH has to go a long way yet. But then again the facts you mentioned are really on point. BTC has more excellent value as of now and will ETH ever reach that mark? It is very hard, but who knows what the future holds for ETH. I hope it is good. BTC is the king of crypto as of now.

Although Ethereum is one of the big altcoins, but I think replacing BTC is impossible because BTC and ETH have different functions, BTC is more focused as a peer-to-peer electronic money system for payments, while ETH focuses more on the Blockchain to run a decentralized program.

Ethereun can't really replace bitcoin because ETH is next to BTC so bitcoin can't replace ethereum because of the size of its investors because they are certain that they will make a lot of money.

I don't think it will be extraordinary, and I don't feel like that will really happen, it's hard to defeat bitcoin . if bitcoin loses its rank 1 it is possible that crypto is really dead and abandoned.

There are few chances for ethereum to over throne bitcoin. Just make a quick math and you'll see that the amount of capital that is needed is just too big to happen so I would say that no one ever can over throne bitcoin even if they have the tech , devs and all the juice.

Yes, judging from the function and role, ETH can be a parent, to exceed price of Bitcoin, it takes trust for large adoption

Ethereum, being the world's second largest cryptocurrency by market cap, has all the potential of replacing Bitcoin in the future. It's more than just a cryptocurrency, being a platform for the development and execution of smart contracts (aka dApps). With ETH, it's possible to launch alternative cryptocurrencies without the need to start a Blockchain from scratch. It's also possible to use the ETH blockchain for other purposes such as voting, proof of identity, verification of documents, and more. In contrast, Bitcoin's only use is for finance where it cannot be implemented in other areas by its own. Given all of the benefits Ethereum provides on top of Bitcoin, it makes me wonder whenever it'll be able to replace the pioneer cryptocurrency within the future? As long as, Ethereum keeps progressing in development and mainstream acceptance, it'll be much closer to Bitcoin every step of the way. What are your thoughts? Bitcoin is the parent of all coins, although ehtereum is the second largest, bitcoin in the future will continue to be the main coin of all coins, although ethereum continues to progress, there are still many altcoins that will remain barsaing with ethereum in the future. Bitcoin will continue to lead because of its value and natural nature.

at the moment bitcoin is still leading the cryptoqurency market and I am not very sure that ethereum will replace bitcoin, but if that happens in the future it will likely have a major impact on ethereum adoption. because investors will certainly switch to profitable coins

I think that soon ETH will stop to be the king among altcoins, and when the season of altcoins begins, we will see new leaders in this market.

The description about Ethereum and its facilities are really good.I don't think it will make any bad effect on the crypto market like these process but still good with bitcoin progress.

If ethereum replaces bitcoin someday then thousands of people will become a millionaire. Because to reach Bitcoin level Ethereum price must reach at least 15-20K USD. So, after this surely thousands of investors will make a huge profit. I also want to add that its quite impossible for ETH to reach the BTC level because BTC already has a big impact on the market.
I think it will be historic to see Ethereum bypass bitcoin and become the king of cryptocurrency.

- Indeed, from the past until the present time, bitcoin is still something that nothing can replace and defeat, it seems to be appreciated by people, considering it as the origin of the crypto market, the success or failure of the market depends heavily on bitcoin because we can see every breath of bitcoin, other crypto will follow and move, very few altcoins will resist. Ethereum is probably the altcoin closest to bitcoin but unfortunately, it is still altcoin, it still needs to see bitcoin to move, the strength of bitcoin really dampens hope of competition from other altcoins

If we look at the current situation it is very unlikely Ethereum can replace bitcoin. From the popularity and price alone Ethereum has lagged far behind bitcoin. So it took a very long time for Ethereum to be able to replace bitcoin.
