The information you give is correct. But I feel that Ethereum wants to rise to number one is very difficult because there are many things that it has not done as Bitcoin. It takes a lot of effort and it takes more time. Do you think I'm wrong? If wrong, please comment.

Ethereum has some interesting updates coming up in early 2020. I think the price will go up from there but Bitcoin is still king and it will be hard seeing Eth overtake BTC as the major crypto.

I support your opinion but I think it is a bit difficult. Bitcoin has deep roots and still dominates the cryptocurrency market, it has good potential and stability. Ethereum wants to replace Bitcoin, it takes a long time and has a good stepping stone

yep, bitcoin doesn't have many big uses like ethereum. but the birth of ethereum is from bitcoin. There are many reasons for ethereum to surpass Bitcoin, but the trust in Bitcoin today is still very large. the main problem of bitcoin is there is no specific development for bitcoin, so technology is like old. but ethereum always makes progress. which is more advanced, the greater the violation. the current use of ethereum is much for scam project. so trust in ethereum can't be more than bitcoin. I think that if Ethereum can separate the project scam from the real project, it will foster people's trust.
That's certainly true, mate. After all, Ethereum comes from Bitcoin one way or another. Without the creation of Bitcoin, none of the advancements within the Blockchain industry would've been possible. I believe that most cryptocurrencies' success has been related to the prominence of Bitcoin itself. We all know that Bitcoin is the reserve currency of the crypto market. Despite this, Ethereum works fine as an alternative to the main Bitcoin blockchain providing smart contract functionality worldwide. It may have been used for ICOs mostly, but it has the potential to transform nearly every industry as we know it. As for scam projects using the ETH blockchain for their own benefit, it's highly unavoidable. Even Bitcoin faces the same problem, with "scammy" forks appearing every once in a while with the purpose of filling the developers pockets. But in the end, they turn out to be worthless coins with no real use cases for the mainstream world. The Ethereum blockchain has managed to survive for quite some time, despite its many flaws. It has followed Bitcoin's footsteps where it continues to improve itself every step of the way. With an active development team, and supportive community, Ethereum could last a lifetime. It may never replace Bitcoin, but it could complement it in every way. I believe that Bitcoin will continue to grow in market cap over time, while Ethereum remains behind it across the crypto market. The gap between both cryptocurrencies' market caps is too big. It's nearly impossible for Ethereum to rise above Bitcoin, because of this factor. After all, Ethereum is an inflationary cryptocurrency whereas Bitcoin is not. Nonetheless, I hope that someday Ethereum will grow so big that it'll be comparable to the likes of Bitcoin. But everything will depend on how much people will adopt the world's second largest cryptocurrency by market cap within the mainstream world. Just my opinion

I know Ethereum keeps progressing so as Bitcoin and might be able to replace the father of crypto in the future but I think it won't be soon. Having Ethereum will probably give chance to other altcoins out there to have their own limelight after Ethereum does. But I still do believe that they won't be able to beat Bitcoin's success so they'll just remain as altcoins forever.
For me personally, both of these coins are bitcoin and ethereum, both are equally good and I think both are equally necessary and complementary, matters can overtake or not for me personally it might happen one day but for me for now and the next few years I still believe that bitcoin will remain at the top for quite a long time.

That's right, so far no tokens or coins have been able to replace the position of bitcoin as the best coin in history, because bitcoin is the first coin born in the crypto space, and is still the most popular coin.

If that happens, I think people who hold ethereum will benefit greatly from being able to replace bitcoin. But in my personal opinion, this is not possible because in my opinion for a long time bitcoin will remain in the top position and to be able to replace it is not easy and I don't think it will happen. And for me, these two coins will always go together for a long time.

Ethereum and Bitcoin are different things. Ethereum is not going to replace bitcoin. It can be the most traded coin, the coin with most marketcap but it would not replace bitcoin as they are different in nature. Bitcoin is a limited supply asset while Ethereum is a utility token that has an undefined supply whose controlled output would maintain it's price and usability.

In terms of market value, I highly doubt that Ethereum could replace BTC as what I saw long time ago through its increase/decrease in CMC. It could be the coin next to Bitcoin, but we can't conclude that it is the "next Bitcoin" as referring from the thread I had read before about the coin that could prove to be the next Bitcoin in the market.
Your doubts are very understandable and I also see that, bitcoin is still a king of coins and may be difficult to influence or someone wants to replace. ethereum is indeed quite good and it is the benchmark for all new altcoins that are growing in new projects. but I do not believe that ethereum can also replace it, as can any other coin.

Exactly, besides if Ethereum manages to replace Bitcoin then perhaps it would be good in some cases like Ethereum has less transactional fee so it would be in favor of traders and in terms of speed it is quite good as well. However, just like what others have mentioned it won't take over the place of Bitcoin due to the fact that Bitcoins is still got the highest volume in the market.

In my opinion no, I think that the binance coin has the opportunity to replace ethereum because of the use of many binance coins and the progress of binance coins is very fast every year compared to ethereum, this very slow progress of eth that makes eth unable to replace bitcoin

Ethereum, being the world's second largest cryptocurrency by market cap, has all the potential of replacing Bitcoin in the future. It's more than just a cryptocurrency, being a platform for the development and execution of smart contracts (aka dApps). With ETH, it's possible to launch alternative cryptocurrencies without the need to start a Blockchain from scratch. It's also possible to use the ETH blockchain for other purposes such as voting, proof of identity, verification of documents, and more. In contrast, Bitcoin's only use is for finance where it cannot be implemented in other areas by its own. Given all of the benefits Ethereum provides on top of Bitcoin, it makes me wonder whenever it'll be able to replace the pioneer cryptocurrency within the future? As long as, Ethereum keeps progressing in development and mainstream acceptance, it'll be much closer to Bitcoin every step of the way. What are your thoughts? I strongly agree that Ethereum will replace Bitcoin someday. because many of Altcoin now use Ethereum platforms like ErC-20 ... and this we find from the many altcoins that are launched all the time. but I am still doubtful about the current Ethereum price which is very difficult to rise higher so that it is difficult for ethereum to replace Bitcoin for a price.

I think Ethereum has its place but I doubt very much that it will replace Bitcoin as Bitcoin seems to be the store of wealth and the big institutional investors like to have their main stash in Bitcoin. I do believe though with POS coming Ethereum will gain a larger market share than it enjoys now as people move from other high capped coins that don't give any POS interest. So Ethereum might take away from other coins in the market cap, but I doubt it will overshadow Bitcoin any time soon as it has a large supply.

LOL. Which part of it looks promising? I could even see the upgrade 2.0 as something ordinary that other altcoins have implemented for a long ago and not really an innovation. Also to mention the number of coins premined owned by the developers which is enormous making it vulnerable to dump even by the devs itself. I can't see how ETH could replace bitcoin. Even the mass adoption is still far below bitcoin despite having huge market capitalization.

Okay, there are advantages and disadvantages for both bitcoin and ethereum. Ethereum has a stronger infrastructure and is able to do much more than Bitcoin for every change. Yet Bitcoin is the first coin on the crypto market that emerged, it has the highest capitalization and the cornerstone for the entire crypto industry is laid. And, in the near future, I don't think it will happen. Maybe that's a good thing because bitcoin is what brings real profit.

Only the future can tell, any coin with great developers and active community can make it on the top of the market, Ethereum has a good chance, it's easy to tell imagine a market without Ethereum smart contract, they will not know that transactions can be in seconds and the fee is very small, Ethereum also attract a lot of people in the Cryptocurrency, not only Bitcoin.

It will not be a problem if in the future ethereum can replace bitcoin because we know ethereum has great potential about it. There is nothing more to worry about these two coins, although later there will be replaced but that does not mean something negative will happen because after all the development of great efforts and ideas will produce a better reputation.
And what can Ethereum replace bitcoin with? These are completely different types of coins with their specific functions. Therefore, ethereum will always be ethereum, and bitcoin will remain bitcoin. Ethereum will not be able to rise to the level of the price of bitcoin or to its level of capitalization. However, over time, bitcoin can drop in price and capitalization, and it is possible that ethereum can bypass bitcoin in these respects.
