I just don't understand how Real Madrid get 2 draws in 2 easy games consecutively...    They just gave so many opportunities to Elche. And they even got behind 2 times in the game.

Seriously it was a narrow escape for Real Madrid yesterday. Elche could have won that match if everything was fair but the officiating can not be always perfect and Madrid benefited from that yesterday otherwise their second goal could be ruled out.

In terms of quality of players and team mentality, I don't think much have really changed with Real Madrid just that they've not been living up to expectations recently. Yesterday, Real Madrid came in to the game against Elche with the mindset that they're definitely going to win the game regardless of how they performed and that was what cost them all three points. Underestimating a team that's supposedly below your playing power isn't a thing that's common among teams that are eager to win the league, that's what I think Xabi Alonso should change in the team's mentality. I don't know if I will say Real Madrid underestimated Elche because this was a game they are suppose to win straight without any stress but it surprised me to see that Real Madrid played draw with Elche I don't think  Barcelona can do something like this even if they are not in a good form. I agree with all you said but what I don't understand where you got your fact about Realmadrid going into that match against Elche with no sign of seriousness, I will say they played what they could, I don't care if they saw Elche as a small team or not but they displayed what they had in mind to do, I think we should stop thinking for these teams, why will they even see any team as less at this time of the season, are they doing it because they are on top of the league table or may be the think they have already win the title, why will they even play draw in that match with such team, I don't know the words to use in qualifying such performance by Realmadrid.

I won't say they are more focused on the champions league when they are not sure of it, except they are sure of it, before I will buy the idea that you are communicating. We all know they are all fighting for the league title, a d I believe this was the mistake they made that last season, if we can remember, when real Madrid was having the difference with Barcelona with a 7+ point difference, and what they do is to bottle the chance they have to Barcelona and Barcelona didn't give up till the last minute, so for me I still believe, if they will do that, I don't think Barcelona will still let it slip away from them.
