Villarreal's next game will be against Getafe, who in my opinion have a good chance of causing Villarreal to drop points. I say this because Getafe is a team with a good defense. In their last 5 games, they performed very well defensively, conceding only one goal at most in each of their last 6 matches. And note that in those 6 games, Getafe played against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, and even against these two strong teams, they only conceded one goal in the game against Real Madrid and one in the game against Atletico Madrid. That's why I believe Getafe could manage a draw against Valencia. Now, my concern is with Real Madrid; I wouldn't be surprised if they drew today's game, and Barcelona fell further behind in the standings.

You are right that Getafe is  playing very well. This season Getafe has played  well against strong teams and has been able to earn points. But a few days ago we saw getafe's defeat against Atletico Madrid and mallorca.

Even though Getafe is in good form, I would consider Villarreal as the favorite. We know that Villarreal is in a very good rhythm. Moreover, this  match is Villarreal's home match. Villarreal is very strong in home matches . They are unbeaten in 7 home matches and have been able to win 6 matches. And Villarreal can  continue this streak against Getafe.
Moreover, villarreal has not lost a match against Getafe  for a long time. Villarreal has won three of the 5 head-to-head matches and shared points in two.

Mbappe's performance has indeed declined somewhat in the past few matches.

They have mate, atleast it is reflecting in the Spanish laliga league standings, they are now at the top of the league standings that says it all, but someting is still retaining for them to do and that is being consistent, their performance against Athletico Madrid which made them to win is something i have been expecting from Barcelona this season, RealMadrid made a very big mistake, they gave Barcelona this opportunity, I know the point difference between the two teams might not be much but who knows what Flick will telling his boys right now, and who knows knows if we will be seeing them in a different dimension onward, with what I have seen, there's battle ahead for the league title.

Barcelona has gradually recovered from their poor form and their win against Atletico Madrid have them a good advantage over Real Madrid in the league they have most of their injured players back to the team which is going to make it easy for them to become stronger than before especially now that they are leading in the table. Real Madrid will still fight to make sure they go back to the top of the table after wasting their opportunity when they were supposed to win their games to extend the point they were using to gap Barcelona but they lost 4 point following the draw they played so it gives Barcelona more opportunities to remain at the top of the league, they will continue to battle till the end of the league to know who will be the league winner.

Beyond the score, i really enjoyed watching this game. one of the best that Real Madrid played in a while. They showed a lot of desire. The build up and execution of the second goal were especially stunning...

Real Madrid finally showed their best performance, everything needed was displayed in one match, they managed to control the match with high intensity, made perfect touches on the ball and all players managed to connect well. But the real engine in Real Madrid beautiful game is Bellingham, he plays a true midfielder, I feel like I see Toni Kroos in him, he manages to control the game well and manages to link the midfielders with the attackers perfectly. Although he didn't score as Real Madrid beat Athletic Club, he was one of the game's brightest performers.

Mbappe performance was outstanding in this match, he scored the first and last goals to seal up the victory for his club. Vini was on his peak form today because he was faster than all Athletic Club defenders when chasing the ball. The problem Vini has is that, Mbappe always outshine him and gain more attention because he's a good finisher.

Atletic Club looks weak in their attack and defense. I didn't expect an easy win for Madrid. Their performance was superb.

Mbappe is currently on the best form of his life, no arguments there. The way he is scoring goals for fun now back to back shows the sharpness he is playing with. Every time he gets the ball, you can almost sense a goal coming, that is how dangerous he is at the moment.

But I would say it is kinda worrisome for a team like Real Madrid because it is beginning to look like if he doesn’t score, no other player would score. Real Madrid had a chance to stay at the top but they fell behind after a draw with Girona. But a 3-0 win against Bilbao in the last match has brought them back very close to Barcelona. Some of Barcelona's best players were out with injuries and their team performance was not at its best but most of the players are back and playing well. I thought Barcelona might not be able to perform well against Atletico Madrid because Atletico have been playing well in recent matches and are trying to get to the top. 3-1 win has given Barca more confidence and it was a blow for Atletico Madrid after winning several matches. I rarely bet on matches involving Getafe. Except when they face strong teams such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid. So I didn't realize that they have improved a little bit lately. Even now, Getafe is in 7th place in the standings, which is actually quite rare for them. They usually just stay in the middle of the table, between 10th and 13th place. They usually stay there consistently. But it seems that this season there has been a clear improvement from this team.

The last matches are going to be decisive rather than having a winner in the first rounds. It's one of the things that pushes teams to perform better and build players, whenever a League is lacking competition for first places, we are seeing poor performances from the teams. Athletic Bilbao were a complete disappointment today. They didn't show any effort to win the game despite playing at home. Both of Mbappe's goals were nice. But when Mbappe threw himself to the ground, why didn't the ref give him a yellow? Aren't these trying to trick the referee dives supposed to be punished with a yellow anymore? When I checked the comments online, everyone seems to agree on this. The refs decision felt weird to me.

In this season, Athletic Bilbao is completely down and out their Champions League campaign is almost ended have 1 win out of 5 games in La Liga they are also disappointed 7 loses and 6 wins making their campaign miserable.

Very inconsistent and poor in those games that they played immediately after they won Valencia 4 - 1, the rest has been shit up untill just for the good game they had last night. They won Olympiacos but to me, that was a lucky and shaky win. Real Madrid dropped 6 points by playing 3 consecutive draws that's the annoying part. They literally threw away 5 points lead and are now trailing the same team they were up above by 5 points.
