As you guys mentioned the start of the match was quite competitive but Joan García really showed why he was worth signing this summer. He gives Barcelona confidence at the back. Winning matches like this is extremely important. Anyway i’m happy Barcelona still keeps his position in the table.

Barcelona has done well by defeating Villarreal, even though I expected the match to produce more goals in the second half but unfortunately it didn't go as a expected. IMO, Villarreal wouldn’t have allowed Barcelona to win if Renato Veiga hadn’t received a red card. Villarreal could have at least held the match to a draw. Just look at how the home team performed, even with only 10 players, they were still able to defend well and avoid conceding many goals. This shows that Barcelona got a bit lucky in this away match.

To them, what matters is the three points and not the number of goals because the more you widen the gap, there wouldn't be a need to use goals difference to determine the winner. Honestly, I didn't expect less from Barcelona and to make matters very easy for them, Villarreal had to receive a red card in the 39th minute, so early into the game and while it would seem like he was under pressure, I feel the tackle was too harsh.
 There may have just been two goals because Villarreal did their possible best to not let in more and they kept pressing to get something as well so Barcelona was caught between defending their clean sheet and trying to score a somewhat tight defense of their hosts.

TBH, Barcelona was lucky to win the game. When the game started, it was a tough 30 minutes. Villarreal kept on pressing Barcelona, and in return, Barcelona did the same. If not for the red card Villareal had in the game, Barcelona wouldn't have won in the end.

From the look of things, Barcelona is dropping performance gradually. They have to be careful; if not, Real Madrid will close the gap. Huge performance from Yamal and Raphinha today. I think Yamal should be the MOTM.

Barcelona didn't play too well in the match but they didn't misused there chances they get and that want give  them the lead in the match, Villarreal do there best but they didn't get the chance to break Barcelona defend and they are in 3rd position in the league but now they lost the complete point Athletico Madrid will go the third very soon because I don't think Villarreal can maintain that position for long they can't, they can end in top 4 because that is only table I can probably believe they can finish with. Since real madrid, Barcelona and Athletico Madrid are the only tough club in the league table, real Betis are trying sometimes and I see they are getting more improver in the league competition, and they even wining Getafe almost 4 goals currently they have dominate the match very well and they achieved the three point easily.

Villarreal was the home team so I expected more from them. I am disappointed in their performance today and their results because they couldn’t score a single goal against this Barcelona team that concedes to almost every team they play against and with Villarreal current performance they shouldn’t find it difficult to score and make things hard for Barcelona at their home stadium.

Maybe the red card affected that’s why they couldn’t score but even with that I expected them to do better than this. Villarreal have now dropped to fourth place in the standings as Athletico Madrid won their game so they moved to 3rd place now.
