Both Barcelona and Real Madrid don't win or lose La Liga title after only a half of season, and there is almost same chance for each competitor to win the title. Barcelona aren't completely stable either just that they are on a safer end since Madrid are not meeting up perfectly with their own winning consistency. The road to the Laliga title race is still far. It's just unfortunate Madrid will now hope Barcelona drops points in order to catch up with them but let's hope the don't widen the margin because it seems Barcelona are eager to get their trophy again this season. Another club that managed to significantly improve their performance recently is Espanyol. After beating Athletic Bilbao 2-1 today in an away game, they now have 5 league wins in a row, and are slowly climbing up the table.

I have just noticed Espanyol's amazing rise in the standings honestly. It must be because of focusing so much on Barcelona - Real Madrid rivalry in the league. But I really admire their work recently.

In both halves they didn't even have an xG around 1.00 but scored 1 goal in each. It was even 0.19 in the first half. And Athletic Bilbao are really a failure this season. They are 4 positions below where they finished last season. The gap with top 4 is 12 points now...

Hansi Flick is a very good coach and I will always commend him for the excellent work he's doing in Barcelona, when he came into Barcelona they were having big financial crisis and they could not buy players at that moment so they just needed to rely on players from the team and Barcelona academy, this was supposed to disturb any coach because when you don't buy players you need, it will be very difficult for you to flow very well and perform very well but that was not the case with Hansi Flick he used what was available for him very well and that was what brought them to this point, they will still lift this season la Liga title because real Madrid can't even stop them anymore since they have lost form.

Yes, exactly, it's not the same to be a coach at Bayer as it is at Real. Xabi is a great coach and did an excellent job in Germany, but it is very difficult to lead a team full of stars and big egos like Real.

Xabi Alonso and Real Madrid currently have disadvantage but it's not too big and they can equalize points with Barcelona in La Liga. Real Madrid are strong but still have problems and weakness that are their internal issues which contribute as their disadvantage in a title race with Barcelona. I didn’t expect such alacrity from Espanyol and placed the bet on  Athletic win. As the result I lost both the money and the bet. The latter slightly spoiled my betting statistics for La Liga matches. So far, I’ve made 18 bets: 15 won and 3 lost, giving me the win rate of approximately 83%. At this point, I probably need at least 10‑day break ^{to rest} from betting until  New Year.

The defensive injury of Real Madrid this season truly had a lot in the side of Real Madrid as they started with an impressive performance that later ended 4 points below Barcelona in the league table.  Because of the injury problem of real Madrid, they Lost consistency which made them go second now with hope of coming back to winning runs when they are free from injury. Since defeating at El Clasico match, Barcelona show good progress and success leading back the top position due inconsistent performance from Real Madrid, Barcelona not waste the great opportunity after when Real Madrid losses many points and the 8 winning matches in a row at La Liga change the current standings from previously at 2nd place now Barcelona has 4 points gap at the top position. Seems not change yet with Real Madrid success winning the first el clasico match but few matches later loss points from the mediocre teams.
Xabi Alonso on huge pressure position, if can't win La Liga trophy can't guarantee his position keep secure how previously many rumor will sack after having bad result. I don't think need at the end of this season if get bad result few matches later Xabi Alonso will sack easily and replacing by top manager.
