Athletic club is not in good form this season. The team played well last season. They were  in fourth place in the points table. Their performance in the champions league is also very poor. I agree with what you said about Barcelona finding a mean at anytime to put things in control when it seems they are not in good shape or having some challenges that could cause the team to go into serious lapses and poor performance but we can't still dispute the fact that they are a bit in form, if they are not in form to some level, they won't win matches that elevated them to where they are right now, no doubt they had some injuries at a time but got over it with the help of their manager while i call a good strategist.
The championship league is different because I won't say Barcelona is a serious contender there, as for the Spanish laliga, they are likely to be the title owners this season.

I can not  find any reason to consider Athletic bilbao as good this season. Their performance is very poor. They are not even in the top  24 in the champions league points table. Athletic Bilbao is also far behind in the la liga points table.

Athletic Bilbao's attack and  defense are both weak. In 18 matches, they have managed to score only 16 goals and  conceded 24 goals.
