Yes, most big clubs does focus more on the summer transfer window to sign players but that doesn't mean that big clubs doesn't make significant signings in the winter transfer window as well. We've seen big players swap clubs in the January transfer window on many occasions. For Barcelona, most of their players who were initially injured are back to full fitness so I don't think they'll be doing much but for Real Madrid, I won't be surprised if Florentino Perez decides to make few additions next month

An extra addition of certain players for certain positions is important for Real Madrid especially with their defence line, they  need to strengthen that aspect of their team just incase they get to suffer any form of injuries moving forward, they will have the fill ups and the players to still keep them in position enough not to be disturbed and displaced as much, if Perez takes the decision for addition, it will be of great help to the team.

You are right to an extent that real madrid needs more bodies at the back, but I think that it's not just quantity they need, but instead, it's quality and experience they need at the back.
David Alaba and Antonio rudiger that would have been the right fit are mostly injured, so if they can add more quality and experience center backs this January transfer window, it will be a big plus to the team, but right now, it looks unlikely because they will need to offload either rudiger or Alaba before they might even agree to add more central back to the team since it's not that too obvious that it's where their problem lies this season.

I agree, Xabi is a great coach and has really done an excellent job at Bayer, but leading Bayer is one thing and leading a team like Real, full of stars and big egos, is quite another. 
It seems to me that Xabi hasn't settled in well, that he doesn't have the necessary authority, and that the players don't listen to him. 
Just look at the public quarrel between him and Vinícius; this never happened at Real under previous coaches.

The coach wasn't the only problem of the team they changed him because he wasn't doing anything to stop the problem not that he was the problem of the team Xabi Alonso was brought to change the face of the team by bringing his own idea but the injury among the defenders is the problem of the team if they have a complete defense they can't be losing games when they have the best attacking force in the league just like Barcelona. Real Madrid must be very careful about how they manage their players and i think that only they can do this with the help of the coach to understand who are the players who are causing problems and who can give something more instead of keeping players out of the squad.

It's true that a weak defense can overwhelm a goalkeeper, and that's exactly what happened to Courtois. Madrid can't defend solely on Courtois saves if their defenders can't minimize the threat.
