Agreed, initially I had Barcelona as a slightly better performing team than Real Madrid but seeing them lose twice in the last 5 weeks of La Liga and also suffering a crushing defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Copa Del Rey, made me reconsider. For now I see Barcelona and Madrid as equal forces, with their own strengths and problems within the team. And this also makes the competition more interesting because going into the 25th game, we still don't have a clear picture or choice of who will come out on top at the end of the season due to the tight points gap. If Barcelona can stabilize their defense, they will come out on top and if Madrid improve their consistency, they will also come out on top.

Honestly, if we look at the statistics, we can clearly see the difference. Madrid have been more consistent than Barcelona. At the moment, Madrid have only suffered 2 defeats, while Barcelona have lost 4, and that already speaks for itself. Even though the title race is not over and the gap in points between the two teams is still very close, Madrid have a stronger chance of winning the league this season.

We may continue to see the competition go down to the final weeks, but I am very confident that by the end of the season, Madrid will be at the top of the table.

Silver Lining for Barcelona is that they are not going to play at UCL whereas Real Madrid did and barely managed to beat Benfica on the first game, which is going to tire Real Madrid out for a few weeks while Barcelona is resting, that is a benefit. Barcelona should be able to win the next few games, and Real Madrid will have some hard time and difficulty and will get more tired, so we do not know maybe they will also win games but they could potentially have a risk of being too tired and not put their 100% in the game.

I think it is clear that we are not going to see this as being easy, after all we are seeing how things could be a bit different like even Barcelona could lose again, but I have a feeling that in the next two games of la liga, we will see Barcelona take the lead back.

Fight of title in La liga has felt huge change as Barcelona has been passed by Real Madrid to be at top. With Barcelona losing 2-1 to Girona and Real Madrid beating Real Sociedad by wide 4-1 score, club has now two points over Barcelona with 60 points against 58. With Madrid already having things moving, Kylian Mbappe leading scoring table and having scored 23 goals, Barcelona has been suffering defensive mistakes and injuries to its star players like Lamine Yamal who missed important penalties in recent past.

Real Madrid have already being favored after Barcelona lost their match to Girona, it is really going to be a tough ride now for both teams. They are just less than three points away from each other and any defeat that any side will take now will affect the overall position of the team on the table, so consistency is what matters now that will keep any of them at the top of the table.

Yes, it is true that Real Madrid is currently in a much more consistent position than Barcelona. Real Madrid is performing very well in La Liga. But if we talk about the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona is ahead of Real Madrid. Missing these opportunities will be a very bad time for Barcelona.
