I agree that Barcelona has a very weak defense, which is why the number one priority for them now is to get Bastoni for the defense next season. They want to buy him during the summer, which is going to be tough considering how they need money for that and they are in big debt, they also want to keep Rashford and that's a lot of money as well.

Only thing that comes to mind would be losing Lewandowski because he gets paid a lot, but if they do get Rashford and Bastoni, and lose Lewandowski, then they will not have a proper striker, Ferran would have to carry that load alone, and if he is injured, that's even worse. So not sure how financially they can do that, but I agree, in the end, Barcelona has a weak defense right now.

Barcelona needs a Centre Back and a Striker if they want to be balanced and prepare to dominate the whole of Europe because Feran Tores is just not doing it for the team, and the funny thing is that he (Feran Tores) doesn't want to leave the team and since he is still on contract, there is no way for the team to push him out.

Plus signing Bastoni for €80m is looking too extreme for a 27 years old CB, am just feeling like the whole transfer market and the price tag is still too unrealistic.

Xabi Alonso was a great manager. But he left madrid because of conflicts with the players. He did not get enough respect in madrid. I saw him strengthen the mediocre squad of leverkusen. But the madrid management did not  give him enough time.
Anyway, it is not possible to say that the new manager Arbeloa is doing a very good job. The Madrid management is looking for an experienced manager. But  if the players in the squad do not show enough respect to the manager , then keeping madrid stable will be a big challenge for any manager.

Florentino Perez made his decision in a haste. This is my opinion. He shouldn't have got sacked just to bring an inexperienced name like Arbeloa. By the way I believe that Arbeloa is just temporary there.

I'm just waking, what did I miss? Alvaro Arbeloa is still the manager for Real Madrid and with the look of things, he proven himself as already in big games and also heading somewhere in the UEFEA Champions League. Real Madrid can pull anything up there because they're very crucial and competitive when it comes to big games.

In the meantime, Xabi Alonso could have stayed in Bayer leverkusen rather than rushing to accept the moves to Santiago Bernabeu. How did everything end? Alonso is very personal when it comes to games but his system was not just working for Real Madrid and he had to leave, now we're looking at Alvaro Arbeloa, let's see what he can offer for the club.

The management want to see faster progress and won't loss opportunity left many points in La Liga from Barcelona until failure in Champion League I think reason why sack Xabi Alonso from the manager.

Xabi Alonso supported with fully many top and star players I don't think any manager need long time giving positive progress, looks the progress of Arbeloa appointing few weeks have been success playing well not only in Champion League but also in La Liga. Now Madrid under Arbeloa success reach the quarter final round in Champion League and keep pressure Barcelona in La Liga behind 4 points left.

I agree that Xabi should have stayed, but i also think he didn’t really have any authority, and on top of that the results were pretty bad. Arbeloa kinda reminds me of Di Matteo when he replaced Villas Boas at Chelsea in 2011/12 , and we all know he ended up winning the UCL.So who knows, maybe Arbeloa could do something similar :)Klopp coming back as a coach would be nice too, i honestly kind of miss his style of football

there are players who are absolutely worth the price of the bislgietto and these two are the ones, mbappe is starting to be at that level, it's clear that matching Ronaldo and Messi i think is very difficult but they are really on a good path these guys are doing very well and if they continue like this they will do many things like them

Neither of these two players can ever be like Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi, unfortunately, they simply don’t have that level of talent.
I don’t think there are any current players who can truly be compared to Ronaldo and Messi. In my opinion, football has changed now and I don’t think we’ll see players like them again.
They might be the last true legends we had the chance to watch.

Their performance and hard work are quite strong for them and that is why they are quite famous. Every player has some or the other ability in him but Ronaldo and Messi have some different struggle experiences and that is why anyone can buy them for any high amount and in return they can give a good profit as Ronaldo has given a lot of profit to Saudi. If other players also try well and play hard then they can also improve their physical health and can count themselves among the strong players. Players like them play well for some time but they do not strengthen themselves and work hard due to which they are not able to make the performance like them and there is no special place for them in the future. Although we can see the performance of new players in a new way but now these two players will also leave football soon and we will see players like them.

Unfortunately, in clubs like Real Madrid, your impact has to be instant. There is no room for error, especially losing to Barcelona or Atletico Madrid in a shameful manner with no signs of winning a trophy. Perez will just sack you without thinking twice.

I share the same opinion with you on this one. I have been saying this too, only if Madrid can stop this unnecessary sudden change to its managers especially based on what they did to Xabi Alonso and work on supporting them instead of sending them packing, it will help them to perform better and more consistently. More of these changes will bring nothing more than just lack of consistency and confusion because I for once also thought the Madrid management team had run into confusion. I was not expecting the removal or sacking of Xabi and also least expected his replacement will come from Arbeloa.

Is this what really happened though? Was Xabi Alonso sacked? I always thought it was primarily his decision to leave the club after he realised he was unable to do with the club what he intended. I believe I've read that he failed to build good relations with the squad and he couldn't enforce his authority, as the club owners would side with the star players rather than the manager.

It's a shame, because it seemed like Xabi and Real were a perfect match, but it just wasn't meant to be.

Yeah, I think Arbeola is just an interim head coach for now, but if he delivers, they could keep him in for the next season. They still have a fighting chance of winning the league and the UCL.

I think Klopp would be welcomed with open arms by any club in Europe, but there's no indication of him wanting to abandon his Red Bull sports director gig and go back to coaching.

It cannot be denied that Barcelona currently lacks a good center back, so their defense which is not very solid always backfires which is very dangerous for Barcelona,  especially when playing against big teams. So because of that, Barcelona currently clearly needs a good center back who can be trusted to guard Barcelona's defense. So right now I also don't know for sure which player will actually be bought by Barcelona,  but currently the news that Bastoni will be bought by Barcelona is indeed being widely discussed.

I also don't know for sure whether Bastoni will be suitable to play for Barcelona or not, but if I see him playing at Inter, he is indeed a pretty good defender. So maybe Barcelona can bring him in, and that's not a problem in my opinion. But if the price is too expensive, it is clearly not ideal for Barcelona's finances. So right now Barcelona must be able to negotiate well, so they don't pay too much to buy Bastoni.

La Liga's chances are still there, the Champions League is the same where their chances are still quite big although there are still many steep roads because of the opponents they have to face but when he is able to do it and if he can get to the final then this will be a plus for Arbeloa.

I can't agree with you at all. Madrid have been  struggling since last season. Their performance has been inconsistent. It was not possible for Alonso to improve very quickly. Also, Alonso must have wanted to achieve long-term success. Like he did with leverkusen. He took a long time to build the Leverkusen squad. And in the end he brought the Bundesliga title to leverkusen.

Arbeloa successful with madrid ? I do not know if you watch Madrid's matches. They may be able to get points in the matches, even qualified for the quarter-finals of the champions league. But I am not satisfied with their  performance at all. Madrid is the strongest squad in La Liga. But their overall performance  is still quite weak. Madrid has dominated and won  very few matches since arbeloa took charge.

It's important to remember that the players are very high-quality. Under Ancelotti, when there weren't injuries, Real Madrid played much better. Today, there are very few injured players, and I think they're playing tactically worse than during Ancelotti's time. While I see Real Madrid's chances of winning the Spanish league this year ahead of Barcelona as slim, it's still possible. We're certain that Real Madrid will need a good manager at the end of the season.

I don't know exactly, what's circulating as a rumor, which I read here in the forum, is that he didn't have a good relationship with the players and Real Madrid, which has always agreed with the players and not with the coach, decided to give a piece of paper saying hello to Xabi Alonso.

Celta are having their best season in the recent years. They haven't only improved their position in the league so far. But also they have reached the quarter finals of the Europa League!

Xabi Alonso spent a very short time at Real Madrid, only about 6 months. This may seem like a long time to many to build a team, but he was not able to significantly improve the team during this time. I think it was not only because of the team's poor performance, but also because he did not have a good relationship with some of the players in the team. The team management wisely removed them, which was probably the right decision for the greater good of the team. Álvaro Arbeloa is in charge of the team and he is not having much success, but he does not seem to be as capable a manager as Alonso. However, expectations are rising for him because the team's performance has improved significantly in the last few matches. If Real Madrid can maintain this performance in the next matches, they can definitely win almost every match. Mbappe, who is injured, may join the team very soon because he played for his country in a friendly match against Brazil and is getting healthy. He did not play the whole game against Brazil, but he played great and seemed physically fit.

The horse is seen in a long run, it is premature to judge Arbeola and already maintain that he is better than Alonso.
Real Madrid is a very peculiar team, the management is not at all simple, imagine having a stable with thoroughbred horses, they are all too agitated and if they do not have a good tamer every horse does its own thing, damaging the riding stables.
Real Madrid I see it that way, they have a very powerful "heart" but the management must be careful.
