Nothing by taking away from Mallorca (but still a team not comparable to Real Madrid) still managed to dominate the match, a helpless Real Madrid, which made me lose a bet in my pocket.
Not so much because of my paltry gamble, but with Barcelona still moving up the scoreline, I seriously doubt Real Madrid can recover to TRY and win the Championship.
Before it was Xabi's fault now Arbeola's, in short the excuse is always ready to blame the coach, easy to blame the coach, but a team is made up of a group of people, precisely it is called "teamwork".

Mallorca didn't dominate the game but put themselves in front of Real Madrid till the end of the game. It's not all about who dominates the game but who scored the highest number of goals. Real Madrid had good opportunities to find the back of the net but Mallorca goalie thwarted all their efforts. I was surprised that Mallorca took the lead back after Real Madrid equalized the goal.

It's a bit about luck, and also a bit about playing not with fear but with confidence. Mallorca didn't look like they cared, and in normal cases where a smaller team does not fear and attacks and has confidence, that means the better team (in this case Madrid) would find many chances, and usually the smaller team loses because of this.

But because Mallorca had a good defense and amazing goalkeeper, Madrid did find those chances but did not manage to capitalize on those chances. This mean that Mallorca playing attacking helped them, and after they got the lead, they just defended all game long and even with a few chances, they managed to still end up getting the win.

Champions and winners still finds a way to win regardless of the difficulties they face in games. I think Barcelona are astounding, let us see how the both clubs go hard on themselves during the Champions League competition. I would love to see Atletico Madrid qualifying over Barcelona in the Champions League competition.

Yes you are right; Villarreal is doing better than Atletico Madrid this season based on the teams they have played so far in Laliga; they are one point ahead of Atletico Madrid and has already played both Real Madrid and Barcelona in both legs, I think they will once again go back to the Champions League next season if they can manage to finish third or fourth because regardless of what Atletico Madrid is playing this season, I still believe they can go above Villarreal even by defeating them in their last Laliga match of the season.

However, I think if Atletico Madrid didn’t win any trophy this season and finishes below Villarreal at the end of the season, Diago Semione should be let go because he has done his best for the club and now he is not doing well anymore due to his coaching style, and the team needed to win more trophies.

All clubs no matter how big and strong they are, all can lose matches and in a league season like La Liga, the champion only need to get as most total points as possible, and finish a season with highest total points. They're allowed to lose matches during a long season and a league champion don't need to have an unbeatable season like Arsenal about two decades ago in Premier League.

In La Liga this season, so far Barcelona have played better and collected more points than Real Madrid, which team they lost in matches so far are not too important. At the season ending, if Barcelona win and lift a trophy, it's their success in this season, while Real Madrid can be proud of anything they do but if they lose the title to Barcelona, this season is their failure.

It doesn't really matter if you lose a few games in the long run, the important thing is to move forward and not waste any points, get all the useful results, you also need to score a lot of goals, i don't think everyone can have the consistency to always do well, so its okay for some teams to stop.

When you said that Villareal is doing better than Atletico Madrid based on the teams they played in La Liga, do you know how many matches they won against Barcelona and Real Madrid out of the 4 matches they played? You should have a look...

Then I saw the table a moment ago and I have rarely seen more similar statistics between two teams ever after 30 matches. They have the exact same score difference as of now, which is +20 for both. Villareal has 54:34 an Atletico has 50:30 and they have the same number of lost games and Villareal has one more win while Atletico has one more draw.

Are these the conditions that help you to decide what team is better? I think they are basically the same and they still play against each other in La Liga last week of the season. Now I also noticed that Atletico Madrid already played both games against Real Madrid an Barcelona and you still say Villareal is better because of the teams they have played so far in La Liga.

It would have been much smarter if you said that Villareal has one big advantage and might therefore finish higher than Atletico Madrid. The advantage is that Atletico Madrid has a ton of more matches to play. There is of course two matches in the UCL, there is the Copa final, and there could potentially be more UCL matches. They would probably rotate then and don't give too much about La Liga anymore as long as they qualify for the UCL again.

Mallorca didn't care? You don't get as many fouls in a game that looks like Thermopylae, and you don't immediately score after being equal in the late game if you don't care, they were playing for those points as 3 points means they are now 2 points ahead of Elche, 2 more at least draws with Alaves and Grino and they are safe this season, Elche will also play 4 mathces agaisnt relegation zone teams so they will share the points.

Something is wrong with Sevilla, I mean a team can remain in Laliga for years and not get relegated and all of a sudden they start struggling with relegation zone, that means something must be wrong with the team. I have not for once see them below top 10, the last time they experienced this relegation was more than 3 decades, that's 30 years ago, if the team has not relegated and they relegate now, that means all the players including the coach need to be sack.

Sevilla ended the last season 17th, 1 point ahead of the relegation zone, the previous season they were 14th, 8 points from the relegation zone.

Let's not  jump to conclusions that Madrid is going to end up the season without a single trophy, there is a good chance of Madrid winning a trophy the Champions League is there and the title race is not yet over when it comes to the league. Madrid is one of the teams with the most successful records in the Champions League. So there is great hope for Madrid even if they lose out on the league I don't see them losing out on the Champions League.


Looking at the remaining teams in the Champions League, Madrid has a fair chance of winning the trophy because looking at the depth of the squad of each of the teams in the Champions League Madrid as a team has some incredibly talented players who are playing at the highest level.

Most of the time when i see forum members making such conclusions on a team like Real Madrid it baffles me and make think if this guy's have actually been actively following with Real Madrid and their performance in previous seasons,  when it comes to championship or La Liga, one should not under rate Real Madrid or even Manchester City,  their have a way of doing magic towards the end of the season.

Well I trust Real Madrid and Manchester city capabilities but this time around in the La Liga is a very different case because Barcelona is in a good form unlike those seasons they were struggling. I was thinking Real Madrid has hope in coming back to win the La Liga trophy but there last defeat has jeopardize everything for them because the point difference is somehow much and I doubt if Real Madrid can improve and outrun Barcelona.

However as each round passes, we are seeing Real Madrid gradually falling behind Barcelona in terms of points, right now after the thirtieth match, Barcelona is 7 points ahead of Real Madrid and it seems to be a relief for them.At this stage, I think Madrid is standing in such a statistic that Barcelona needs to lose two of the remaining matches and Madrid needs to win all of them consecutively, then maybe they can reach the 2025/26 La Liga title.

It's obvious that Real Madrid defense is weak, if by the end of the season the club doesn't address that weak defense system, I will assume that the club doesn't omo what the are doing, they just want to be doing because clearly they saw this in the beginning of the season, in fact this problem started from the last season with Anceloti, that's two season now if this one end but the problem persist, the team don't know how to play without concede.

Mallorca are not good, even if the team want to make recovery from the relegation zone, it shouldn't be Real Madrid that was going to lose to them but they did. Now, they can't follow Barcelona again, they are lagging behind by 7 point from 4 point, that means they need 2 matches, 1 draw from Barcelona and they have to win everything for them to win the League, this is not practically possible in my opinion.

A lot of people thinks that smaller teams, especially those fighting to avoid the relegation zone, are not part of league.
I keep saying it, teams that are fighting to remain In the main league should never be underestimated because the momentum at which they play is always at a top level especially when the season is coming to a close. I didn't see any form of luck in that game. Mallorca were just fighting for their lives, and for a team that wants to stay alive at all costs,, you expect the very best from them.

I think it's unlikely and we could say that the league is as good as over right now. We should be considering how things could change with time, and for that to mean anything decent, I think Barcelona now should focus back on UCL and hope for the best.

Of course it's doable but some would say their fighters won't stop until it's confirmed because as you say mathematically Madrid can still do it, it's just a harder road.
I personally think it ends with a points gap now because even though Madrid still have a chance in the remaining 8 weeks but expecting Barcelona to lose 3 and them to win all of them is obviously difficult even though Barcelona currently have injury problems for some of their core players.

But if the other possibility happens where Barcelona lose 3 in a row in their remaining matches and Madrid can sweep all the matches they face then it would be a very sweet remontada for them.

The major reason behind the idea of trying not to loose a game is mainly to gather as much points as possible so that the team will have a good and better chance at winning the title as compared to others in the league. So basically is not even about not loosing but winning as many games as possible, if you are able to win as many games as possible, you will have a better chance of winning a trophy than when you are trying not to loose.

Girona defeated Villarreal 1-0 at home. It was a tough loss for Villarreal, as the point gap with their closest rival, Atlético Madrid, has narrowed to just one point.
I don’t think Villarreal will be able to hold onto third place and will finish the season in fourth.

The more excuse we give on behalf of Madrid and their failure to win most of their matches, is the more they show us incompetency in the race and giving Barcelona free chance to hijack the title. The La Liga title, i think has slipped from the hands of Madrid, they were not at the front actually, but they had a chance to recover and give Barcelona tough challenge, but i doubt they are able to do that, due to recent failures and Barcelona seizing every opportunity.

I actually still expect a differentiator in the remaining matches now but indeed this will be a little difficult even impossible because Madrid can only get closer when Barcelona lose and the current condition of Barcelona will obviously be a little difficult to feel that especially Flick knows they must continue to get points for now.

Madrid always fail to capitalize on momentum and this frustrates me even though the depth of the squad is not too bad.
Now it seems we should forget about this season and focus on next season and how they can manage their midfield well.
I miss the days of Modric and Kroos when I look at the current situation because although the midfield is filled with strong players, when there is no attacking brain and organizer of the ball flow, everything will look ordinary.

Mallorca did well in this match and it was very commendable to see how they stopped the giant Real Madrid from prevailing against them. They have been playing quite well and I really commend them so far but how they were not able to defeat Mallorca was something one would imagine over and over again without getting the right answers to it. Real Madrid faced a team in the relegation zone battle, maybe that made them perform great to reach the stage they’re now, I mean to beat Real Madrid.

Nope, game is over.....Real Madrid didn't have any chance to get back the league leading because winning a trophy required a consistent move performance. Despite Real Madrid is no longer good to make a consistent move to deliver any good progress. So that's why I am picking them as failure because initially Barcelona give them a chance for league leading but unfortunately they couldn't hold it longer and eventually they lose the top spot and after that Barcelona hold it and til now they are the dominator....

Only Atlatico Madrid was the barrier for Barcelona at league competition like their match was bit tough but still Barcelona get them defeated and grab the 3 point successfully. Now besides Atlatico Madrid only El Classico is bit sloppy point for Barcelona but I think they will also make it easy and will get the victory.
