I think another problem is that they don't really buy expensive players, like they've a very low budget on buying players, Chelsea tried it this season and got nothing from it. D. Someone has been managing with them the players they could afford, but it doesn't give the club such squad depth they need to lift important trophies. Nice points, but it's true that it's not actually about buying the most expensive players alone, this particular season. Many teams diid that, buying a player that they think could help them achieving thoer aims, and  they stl perform lowly, in fact Chelsea should  actually be a good examples of that, buying players like no tomorrow and been changing Coaches within this season and yet achieved nothing meaningfully.

Chelsea is a different case study, they were busy buying low quality players due to wage concerns and expecting them to move mountains. Chelsea wasted a lot of money in the transfer market, the amount used in buying Delap and Gittens should've bought Osimhen. With J.Pedro behind Osimhen, any defense would be on their knees, but they went for quantity instead of quality.

From time immemorial, I've never witnessed Athletico sign prime players, they always go for players being offloaded by their clubs and get them at cheaper prices and try reintegrating them into their club. In La Liga, you have to spend based on what you generate. So clubs that can't generate a lot of revenue cannot spend as much as they want. Another thing with Spanish football is that you must record the business of every financial year, in that same year. In England, if you buy a player for 100 million, you can spread it across 5 years in your financial books. Meaning, each year, you can record 20 million for the payment of that player, even though you paid the total 100 million at once. But with Spain, you must record that 100 million in the year you made that transaction.
This limits Spanish teams a lot.

Then there is the issue of the salary cap. Each team has a maximum amount it can pay to its players. You cannot exceed that amount. Think of it like having a capacity of 200gb on your phone. Also, if they put more attention on the Champions League, they may not do so well in the league. Overall performance of the teams that proceeded from their respective domestic league to the Champions League, the teams that try most are the Laliga. The teams that suffered from early stage of the Champions League are the Premier League but Arsenal was lucky to fall in between teams that are not too stress like other teams. Atletico Madrid would have represented the Laliga but I will not be confidence on them if they are the one that will play final with PSG.

The next season, I want to see Barcelona or Real Madrid or Villarreal in top stage, I will like to include Betis and Atletico Madrid but Simeone is out of the picture, I can't say what they are going to play next season, I don't know for Real Betis that just had appearance again after they failed to the last time. What am seeing ahead against next season it will surprise Many people, because those new clubs that is going to join laLiga league next season will disgrace some old clubs by not allowing them to beat them for any of the game. Well, some of the club you mentioned they can turn to be the clubs people will be looking into to lift this trophy next season. I have watched Real Betis games many times and I believe they are going to play well in the future to turn to be the club people will be looking up to lift the laLiga trophy and other trophies if they play well.

Now I know the reason why some coaches used to do everything possible within their power to ensure their club play their next tournament, because they want their players to display what the coach has impacted them so that their career will spread.
