I agree with you that it was just a managed point gathering, I was very impressed with the way that Espanyol approached the game, it was an absolute joy to watch, when they scored the game was more intense, the Real Madrid defense looks shaky, I don’t know what Ibrahima Konate was doing in the defense, same old terrible and shaky performance as always when he was at Liverpool.

They were lucky to have scored in the late minutes of the game thanks to a goal from a player called Espi, who I have never watched play football, it’s good he is making a name for himself, I don’t always like Mourinho style of football because it’s an old fashion for me.

It was a great match for Arda Güler he started with an assist. It was a beautiful cross. I don't understand why he was taken off in the 64th minute when he was having such a good game. It's clear he'll be unfairly treated this season. The Brazilian players don't want him to play and they put pressure on the coaches every season they'll do the same to Mourinho this season.

Don’t view fairness through an exaggerated lens. Arda played quite well and was named the best player by several soccer apps, and he deserved it. When Mourinho took Arda out of the game and replaced him with Yan Diomande, he likely had another strategy he needed to implement.
The 3 points Real Madrid earned against Espanyol were very valuable as it was Real Madrid’s first match, even though this was Espanyol’s second match in La Liga.

Real Madrid started their first match in La Liga this season well by winning against Espanyol with a score of 1-2. However, in my opinion, the score in this match was less than satisfactory. I wanted to see Real Madrid score more goals in this match because Real Madrid's squad certainly has more star players compared to Espanyol. However, in my opinion, Espanyol, even though they lost, were not too embarrassed because they were able to score a goal against Real Madrid, even though it was only one.

In that match, I was also surprised when Espanyol was able to equalize the score because I chose Real Madrid as a favorite when betting. José Mourinho the SPECIAL ONE was there and you needed to see the passion in his eyes when Real Madrid player, Espi scored the winning goal in the die minute of the game, there's no greater joy than watching your team not getting embarrassed on the first match day. Nothing should surprise you again because this is football and even the impossible happens. i like Arda's style of play. he was easily one of the best on the pitch yesterday but he got hooked first again when Bernardo Silva should’ve come off. i bet this is messing with his confidence. if PSG is genuinely interested, he shouldn't think twice imo. if he stays at Real, he'll just end up as just another talented starter.

Finally! Real Madrid scored almost at the dead, shaky start and I expected this from them. In the first 20 minutes Real Madrid were dominating, then it switched and Espanyol came out and took over until they found the equaliser. Both teams were playing each other at some points. I knew Real Madrid were going to have it tough, it's his first game and his not yet decided on his starting eleven, this will not be the only game we will be seeing such, Real Madrid's next 10 - 15 games will be on experiments that's for sure because that's when the manager can fully know his strongest eleven to start matches with, some fans should brace up because they will be seeing some funny performances from the team.

The game was very strong for Real Madrid which I was not expecting that even though Real Madrid was not in good form yet, I expected them to win the game stress free but it happened they almost drew the game yesterday and at some point I concluded the game will end draw only for me to check back and saw a winning goal. This game shows that Real Madrid really need more improvement and better still sign in more players because Espanyol is a small team compare to Real Madrid.

They will need to do well in terms of attack and also work on defense, if they want to do well this season because as they progress, other teams are watching to solve them and see how they can capitalise in their weaknesses and if care is not taking, Barcelona which is their rival might still retain their title and that will be third time in a row if they are able to do that this season. Real Madrid win in the first match of the season is a positive for Mourinho. The match was about to end in a 1-1 draw but Spanish forward Carlos Espí scored the winning goal in the 90th minute. I don't hate clubs but I think Vinicious is making me to hate Real Madrid. I can't wait for this team that has spent thousands of dollars to get players together to play El clasico, even as people are thinking that Barcelona does not have striker yet and incomplete players, I still believe they can put Real Madrid in their place better. He is one player I want to be successful with Real Madrid for a very long time, he has been patient for moments like this all these while even during the time of Carlo Ancelotti. Comparison with Mesut Ozil should be an insult but he reminds me a lot about Ozil. It wasn't just the assist provided, he had a great game yesterday, detecting play and creating chances, he better be serious because Bernardo Silva would be looking to break in and sit comfortably in his role. This is just the first match in La Liga. The coach is still looking for a good style of play, so even though Arda played well in this match and even gave a lot of eye catching passes you could say he's a player with a good mission. But being taken off by Mourinho was a good decision because in the first matches like this, he needs to try different strategies to break through the deadlock.

But clearly Madrid under Mourinho right now has seen a bit of change in terms of the formation he sets up for this match. On paper, the formation is 4-4-2, with Vini and Mbappe as the spearheads. This formation is very fluid, and several times it shifts back to 4-2-3-1. So you could say Mourinho has managed to make Madrid's play more creative, and most importantly, he has succeeded in making players like Mbappe, Vini, and Jude start to let go of their selfishness. You can see this when defending they join in defending, even chasing the ball aggressively and their approach in this match was different from previous seasons. This means Mourinho assertiveness is clearly visible in this game and Madrid defensive side is quite solid, even though they conceded 1 goal against Espanyol, it wasn't purely the defenders' fault.

What's interesting about Mourinho strategy is that he brings in Espi when they're stuck. Espi has good instincts and becomes a Counter Target during counterattacks. We share the same sentiment here, when Real Madrid scored the first goal which was an early goal I thought they would score more 2 or 3 in the game but after some minutes Espanyol had an equalizer that lasted till 90 minutes of the game. The game was really tough though Real Madrid was possessing the game but was unable to score again until the added time,  Barcelona will be playing today and I am also expecting a win from Barcelona because they are playing against under dog.
