Real Madrid didn't play up to people's expectations, because when they brought in Jose Mourinho and new players, we thought they would be a lot of improvement in their game. But from what I saw in their opening game against Espayol nothing has change. Real Madrid pattern of playing is still almost the same with what they play played under Xabi Alonso and Arbeloa. Honestly I agreed with that Real Madrid just managed to win but since that was their first match of the season, let wait and see if Jose Mourinho will offer something big as fans are expecting but he really needs to work on his defense.

Because Madrid bought some interesting players, and a new manager, doesn't mean they will immediately start dominating the league. C'mon !!, Most of the new signings are new to the Laliga, so they need time to get use to the system. For me, Madrid performed well, atleast there was a little improvement in attack, they just need to work on their back line.

The young teenager (Diomande), he played with confidence, despite coming in as a sub, he still created some chances, I think he will be of good advantage to Madrid. To be honest, if the Madrid team finish setting up their team and tactics, I think the combination of Vini jr with Cucurella will be a big threat, I noticed how both of them worked well.

I don't see how Elche is going to escape from being defeated tonight, Barcelona is the favorite of that match, irrespective of the match venue, Home does not make any difference again unlike before, and even as that, Elche is never a threat to Barcelona, we know both team strength, Elche might want to start well in the early minutes of the match, But Barcelona as the team that's more experienced than them, might dominate the match, on a more important note, that match will be Barcelona first league match of the season, and beside Realmadrid have won theirs already, Barcelona will not want throw away this chance, so I won't be surprised if they win with multiple goals.

Even though that Barcelona seems to be the dominant team in this match,their victory is still a probability as there's no sure winning in football. Yes no doubt that Barcelona has the superior squad depth, they players are well experienced but anything could still happen. it is obvious that Barcelona has the advantage in this match but that doesn't mean that they should underestimate elche,they need to take this match seriously so they need to make sure that they do not lose against elche so that they will have the same point with real Madrid at the table.

Barcelona is the dominant team in this match, but you should notice this team does not have many of its best players in its first match in La Liga of the 2026/27 season,For example, in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Spanish defender Cubarsi was named the best young player for his excellent defensive skills, but we noticed he was not in the starting eleven for the opening match today.

Many were also speculating that Rodri might take to the field today to handle the midfield for Barcelona. To be honest, Barcelona are leading by two goals against Elche, but it seems like they are not able to perform at their peak because for this team only Rafinha scored from the penalty spot in the 14th minute, also the team's newly appointed Borussia Dortmund player doubled the team's lead by scoring in the 48th minute and it seemed they were able to break through the wall of Elche's defense.

Barca first eleven 11 looks weak to take on Elche at home with that squad leaving some key players on the bench, we are eager to see what Barcelona will play after belittling real Madrid not to have played well yesterday. Elche has always been giving Barcelona hard time to win and also very strong at home. Barcelona barely won Elche last season and same thing is expected to happen today. I doubt and hoped for Barca not to win this match as it will be a very good advantage for Real Madrid if they loose today's match but unfortunately for Real Madrid Barca is already winning with a goal up.

Barcelona’s first squad looks weak to face Elche at home? Nahh. Barcelona are far better than them even with players like their new signings Gordon and Rodri on the bench, they will beat them this season and they’re currently leading by two goals and it’s just Halftime, I don’t think Elche can pull a comeback in this game.

 Hansi flick is using Raphinha as the striker for this game against Elche, could it be that he is considering using Raphinha for the striking position if they aren’t able to sign any striker this summer? What do you think?

Barcelona has entered the field in a completely offensive form in the opening match of the season. They are creating a very strong attack with the two main forces of the attack, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha. Barcelona scored the first goal of the first match through a penalty shootout in the 14th minute of the match. In today's match, Barca is playing with an offensive formation. On the other hand, the opponent entered the field in their completely defensive form, but Elche is trying to play a lot of offensive because they have conceded goals.

In the first half, Elche controlled the ball for a long time, but they are not able to attack very easily. It has become very difficult to break the defense line of Martín, García, Christensen and Xavi Espart. Elche was able to attack only once in the first half but could not succeed. What I can conclude in the first game yesterday is that the situation is still the same where the ego of some players is still there, especially when they get the ball. Vini still looks the same and there is no change for me where he is too long in holding the ball and trying to force himself in the dribble even though he has been very difficult but still forcing it.

This is still to be fixed by Mou even though we know their attack pattern does rely on speed and dribbles but holding the ball too much and forcing yourself is not very good.
Yan Diomande in the first game for me was not too striking but I agree that he still needs time to adapt.
The first match Madrid almost failed for 3 points fortunately Carlos Espi made the difference here otherwise the criticism would have been much greater.

Barcelona today does not seem to be too difficult for 3 second half points to take place and now they are 2 goals ahead.
Adeyemi seems to be quite comfortable being a targetman even though this is not an ideal position for him but with 1 goal at the end of the first half it makes him a little more confident he should be in the second half this time.

Barcelona are playing like the Champions that they are, unlike Real Madrid that was struggling in their match against Espanyol yesterday. Adeyemi will be a good goalscorer, for him to start the season by scoring his first goal shows that Barcelona didn't make mistake in signing him. He is still young and has a bright future ahead of him so if he is able to fit in well in the squad, he will be a regular starter in the squad. Gavi's injury will surely be a huge blow for Barcelona because of the importance of his presence in the midfield of Barcelona. Hope his injury is not critical. Barcelona is still battling with lack of players in the squad, if Gavi embarks on a long time injury it will create porosity in the midfield. Another 45 minutes is underway, Barcelona can still score more goals before full-time.

Julián Álvarez started from the bench for Atlético Madrid against Villarreal. He came on the pitch in the 66th minute but couldn't change the already existing 2-2 scoreline. I think the game ended that way.  

What's more interesting about the game is that Julián Álvarez was heavily booed by the Atlético Madrid supporters. If this continues, Julián Álvarez may decide to leave ATM as the environment is too toxic for him to play. Against Malaga, he wasn't even part of the squad.

Real Madrid started their first match in La Liga this season well by winning against Espanyol with a score of 1-2. However, in my opinion, the score in this match was less than satisfactory. I wanted to see Real Madrid score more goals in this match because Real Madrid's squad certainly has more star players compared to Espanyol. However, in my opinion, Espanyol, even though they lost, were not too embarrassed because they were able to score a goal against Real Madrid, even though it was only one.

In that match, I was also surprised when Espanyol was able to equalize the score because I chose Real Madrid as a favorite when betting. However, fortunately, Real Madrid was able to score another goal against Espanyol through Carlos Espi, which ultimately resulted in Real Madrid winning and finally Real Madrid was able to get 3 points. In my opinion, Mourinho must continue to strive to improve Real Madrid's performance because of course, if Real Madrid's performance is not improved, Real Madrid could have more difficulties when facing a team that is stronger than Espanyol. Do you have the same thoughts as me?

Pulling Bellingham, the guy who SCORED. Then adding this 21-year-old giant midfielder, who nobody outside of Spain knew of. It worked immediately. The kid scored in 11 minutes.
That is the thing about Mourinho. He does not fall in love with what he started with.

I am more curious of the story of TAA off that bench. Joined last year and should be a key creative player. Now there is a brand new signing starting ahead of him. When Trent was introduced reportedly had a rough few minutes. Mourinho was not happy about it on the touchline. That right back thing is going to be a whole season long drama, I can just feel it.

Will it be enough against stronger teams? Probably needs improvement yeah. However, this was actually game one, and half the team were new. Cut them some slack.

Before the season began fans complaints was that Barca has no striker, today goals are raining nonstop against Elche, Barca do not need all the best players in the world to perform well. Raphinha and Yamal are doing perfectly well in the left and right flanks, Xavi, Adeyemi, and Pedri (including the incoming Rodri) are ok enough to feed these two with accurate passes to create opportunities for a finish. I understand how tough it is to face dreaded clubs like Madrid, and PSG unequipped with a solid nine, yet barca is not in a bad shape, with what they've just displayed today.

Although one game is very early to judge the season but let's not pretend that Barcelona are very serious about defending their titles, I don't understand what Hansi flick told that little kid Xavi but he is playing like he is a veteran of the game, this isn't the Barcelona usual starting team but they have all played very well today.
The message was sent by Barcelona and anywhere real Madrid and other teams are watching from the should have clearly received the message.
The negative part is for some reason Lamine Yamal wasn't happy I actually don't understand why but I think it's something that could easily be settled.

Indeed Barcelona players wonderfully played well without stress throughout the match, I expected them to play as they did and I was not surprised to see them play how they did. Although I was sure that we will win the match but didn't expect us to score more goals and play as we did, I was even having doubts of the line up before the start of the game, I was not expecting them to play the way they did, this has shown that we are ready and will win a lot of trophies this season. With all indications, the signing of Anthony Gordon and Adeyemi wil be fruitful as they have already contributed both in two goals . What a good start of the season, on like real Madrid that struggled to win their match. Congratulations to us all (Barca fans) for the victory and 3 point secured against Elche.

Let me get this straight. Arsenal has been chasing Julian Alvarez for a long time, tried to convince him to join the club, but he chose Barcelona over Arsenal. But unfortunately, Barcelona can't afford the money placed on him by Atletico Madrid, and he is getting humiliated by his own supporters.

At this point, he will accept a move to Arsenal because the owners of Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone do not want him. I feel bad for Gykoeres because Alvarez is far better than him

This is a statement win, it is far better than what Madrid played yesterday because they narrowly escaped by winning 2-1. This performance from Barcelona have a lot to prove in the Laliga this season, and with this performance, I think Real Madrid have a lot of work to do because Barcelona is prepared for this season.

Diago Semione also have a lot of work to do, his team didn’t perform well, and I think they should just let Julian Alvarez leave because the player is not playing like he want to remain in that team; they still have a chance to sell him and use the money to sign more players, they should rather act fast than to lose this opportunity before the transfer market closes.

The strong message was against a club that finished 15th place the previous season, Elche losing 5-0 is more like what we expected, if possible to lose by more goals. Barcelona are also strong and a very big contender for the championship, this is how a team contending should actually begin their season, mainly against a club that escaped relegation by one point and goal difference.

Until the Álvarez case is resolved, Atlético Madrid are playing with one fewer player, Atlético won't be getting the absolute best from the player. Today's outcome wasn't the best, I believe Atlético Madrid can do better than how they performed today.

I think they still need to buy a striker. A natural striker. Even if they don't get Alvarez, they should get someone else. Raphinha is not a natural striker, and even though he may play that position well, he won't be as effective as a natural striker. If any one of their wingers gets injured and they don't have a striker, the attack will be weakened. The season is very long. You can't decide to play without a striker based on the first game against Elche. I believe a natural striker that is a good goal scorer is the final piece of the puzzle for Barcelona. Raphinha, Lamine and the striker can start in attack in important games, then Gordon and Adeyemi can be backups.

How could he be their game changer when the fans are showing hatred? It will be very difficult this season for Atletico Madrid to see the best of Julian Alvarez. First, he has no intention to continue with the club and secondly fans are booing him. it's just as if he's been force to play, which he might play out of concentration and lose more interest for the team. In my opinion they should just let him go, that will favor the club.

It was an interesting game from Barcelona. Fermin Lopez and Raphinha both scored braces. Gordon came from bench and made two assists which was very impressive. Lamine Yamal didn't have much impact in this game which I like as Hansi Flick subbed him out.

Atletico Madrid were lucky to have gotten a point in this game if not they were almost losing all 3 points to Villareal at home. Their attack wasn’t at their best in this game and I think they missed Antoine Griezman and also the transfer saga between the club and Julian Alvarez is really having some serious impact on  the teams performance. The club really needs to resolve whatever issue it is with Alvarez so  they can focus on their game, if a player has decided not to continue playing for a club it’s not always going to be easy trying to convince the player to stay and even if he stays he won’t play at his very best for the club as he used to before.
