Hey guys, I was wondering about Bitcoin, blockchain and cryptos in general and their relation to the games industry

We all know, people at my age (31 years) growed up playing games, surfing the internet and they are  very close to technology in general

Games always have put new technologies to evolving the market, like: Internet to play multiplayer games, virtual reality and 3d to have a deeper experience, photorealism, payment inside app/game and etc

But until now, games industry didn't use any new technology related to cryptos

Do you think they will use?
And if yes, how they can use BTC, blockchain and cryptos in general?

The only and most obvious for me is use cryptos to pay games, in steam, psn, xbox live and etc, but I'd like to see your ideas guys
Yeah it is hard to spot a game service company or literally a game that accept any form of cryptocurrencies. However, I have read an online article that there's a game service company which is Steam have once used to accept Bitcoin but due to high fees and volatility of crypto they terminate this kind of method. According to Steam they might still reconsider of bringing back this payment method if Bitcoin becomes more stable.

As of now the market is recovering I hope it will continue until it reaches high value again just like what happened last 2017 it actually reaches twenty thousand dollars, it is considered golden era because almost all of the ICO gone successful because there are actually lots of investors that time. In terms of games, there are actually online games that are accepting bitcoin as their payment when you want to buy some item. It is famous as of now, as far as I know Dota is accepting that. I dont know any other games that are accepting bitcoin as payment when buying items. There are other online games like gambling, it is requiring bitcoin sometime as your bet.

I saw it here today in bitcointalk it's like Agar.io Maybe let's take a look at this one. It is a rewarding game for its players. Their concept is great because they adopt such popular games and apps.

PS. I do not endorse it, and I am not a part of it. I only said this for our knowledge

Bitcoin was built around a poker game. When it was released it was orignally released with a version of Texas Hold em. I believe it will be added to more games in years to come. The only issue is when the price of bitcoin skyrockets. The fees go up as well. Who wants to spend high fees to transfer Bitcoin just to play a game? Not to mention that when the Bitcoin blockchain gets backed up you could wait hours for a transaction to go through.  I think blockchain is great for gaming but I do not think that bitcoins blockchain is the best for it. I like TRX its fast and with the smart contracts and tronlink you can be gaming in 30-45 seconds!

For me, the bitcoin and the gaming industry have a massive factor if it comes to online gambling using cryptos. But if we are talking about the well-known gaming industry, they much focus and partnering on the huge computer companies so that games will buy new computer rigs so they can play smoothly, with maximum effects, etc. But speak off accepting bitcoin as a currency. Some companies accept cryptos like regular currency, as some ppl said, so I think that there still a possibility that the gaming industry uses any technology that relates to cryptos, but not that high for this moment. actually, game is the best way to promote bitcoin or other crypto. if some game platform accept payment use bitcoin or crypto, im sure that game will be crowded. for example like gambling, many people lose and gain profit, and its really popular until now. and its more interesting if some game (rpg, or anything) use this method. it will more excited and a lot of poeple may join on crypto

Game best method how to promote bitcoin become popular in gamer, when they have know with bitcoin maybe gaming will adopt bitcoin as legal purchase payment, so far only with fiat currency if gamer want to buy tools in gaming and they have ready cash money too, after bitcoin receiving in gaming platform very easy to purchase game tool for gamer.

The majority of online game lovers are Millennials which in my opinion are the most effective choice for introducing Bitcoin to them through games that Millennial likes.
with the method of purchasing a game using bitcoin on condition that the game must be on par with the most famous games today and as attractive as possible to attract them to buy it using bitcoin, and provide game tools or other tools with purchases using bitcoin.

The game industry is as promising as cryptocurrencies, but I’m not sure that Bitcoin will be actively used inside game structures, you can consider bitcoin as a prize pool, but not as a functioning unit within a game or platform, at least with its current bandwidth.
Bitcoin as payment tool is gradually being introduced to the gaming industry, although the kind of game I am talking of here is that of gambling game, you could see some gambling game already using bitcoin for casino games and some other spirit betting. As time goes on and as we get deep, I believe that all other gaming industry too will begin to see the need for why cryptocurrency should be used.

There are thousands of people in the gaming industry and if game merchants can introduce bitcoin to them, it would have a very massive effect on the bitcoin value because it will tend to make the community grow bigger and there will be more demand on bitcoin. Two major industry that I will really appreciate now is the gaming industry and the entertainment industry.

Considering all the ICOs I saw that was claiming that they would be the first to use Cryptocurrencies as in-game rewards and not a single one of them turned out to be a reality, it's quite disappointing but I think this is just the early stage, many of these gaming giants are based in countries where Cryptocurrencies are still seen as slightly illegal and it's likely that most of them are just waiting for the government to give the green light on Cryptocurrencies and we would start seeing an improvement in that area, infact there might be a competition on who might do it first.

gaming and bitcoin would be a great idea. no credit card info scope, just an anonymous transaction, and you won't get bills delivered at your home.  Grin

What do you think about Bitcoin and the game industry? My opinion about bitcoin and the game industry is very profitable and I learned a lot about it, because of the positive impact that I realized from all crypto and game currencies. because the gaming industry is closely related to bitcoin because on the one hand it is very profitable to be studied and mined.

ive seen a lot of ICO last year they all failed in their projects , I dont know why it happens, maybe because the team and developer doesnt have enough support on their projects, maybe also their plan is not possible and feasible, they can use bitcoin for online purchases of items in their games I dont know any games that are already doing it or having it I hope that someone will have an idea with this.

Due to scam ICO's around the internet, so most of the project was failed and that includes ICO's for gaming industry, and we cannot blame investors for getting tired in investing because they have no return with their investment, and most of them are scam. Gaming industry is one of the thing that makes crypto famous actually so I am also wondering why most of them failed, maybe because people chooses trading now over gambling.

More than bitcoin as a currency, its underlying technology blockchain is a breakthrough in gaming industry. Blockchain can make sharing resources and assets exchange decentralized and instant which will help the developers largely. Moreover, in game buying and transfers will be easier through blockchain technology.
Decentralized game creation which is already in work is the best possible blockchain solution to gaming industry.

Yawn, old news. Everyone knows what steam is you don't have to post about it like you made this amazing discovery. Btw you still can buy steam games with crypto and steam brining back crypto payment is sueless since all you need to do is buy a steam gift card from just about anywhere with crypto.

Thankfully I can buy my Steam Credits easily. If you reside in the Philippines, there's an app called Coins.ph and you can buy Steam Credits in 1:1 rate. It isn't direct as what you had said that buying games through cryptos but it pretty much ends up at the same thing.
I would love for Steam to allow cryptos to buy their games again, but I hope the rates is still the same because in any case I would stay in the method I am using to buy Steam Credits.

Om what is wrong with you peopke. ANYONE in ANY country can buy steam gift cards with crypto. You do not need steam to accept crypto. If you buy in bulk you can even get a small discount on steam cards which steam would never get you. It might only be 1-2% but it is something you otherwise wouldn't get.

It's in favor with us 'cause I'm a gamer and very happy that some gaming platform or online website that is related to gaming are already accepting bitcoin as a payment. There's also a gambling site where you can bet about your favorite games which is LoL, Dota2 and other popular games.

Some platforms are already accepting and engaged to cryptocurrency.

I think in the near future we will see that video games will start to support bitcoin and we can even use it in the game, like purchasing skins or even maybe we'll have the change to earn some bitcoin inside online games like for example battel royals video games. It's just a matter of time in my opinion and we'll see not even bitcoin but also other famous altcoin available in video games.

if you games that are connected and integrated with bitcoin it is certainly very in demand by all bitcoin hunters, because making your way through games is one of the human hobbies, moreover besides that it also gets bitcoin. if that happens, I will play the game hard, until it's rich.
