LoyceV, I heard of a domain registrar called Porkbun which lets you buy domains using bitcoin.

That's the first time I heard that. I'm thinking of buying some domains for myself, and a quick glance at namecheap tells me it sells a lot more than domains. Can you tell me if only the domains support BTC purchases or everything else such as the certificates and hosting?

I count 18 DT1 inclusions and 11 DT1 exclusions. That makes DT2 (7) and is correct.
Lauda also hasx 9 DT1 (-x) inclusions, but since those users are excluded from DT1, they don't get to vote for DT2. They can only vote for other DT1 members.

This is indeed the case, as already referenced a few weeks ago. Nothing has changed since then (July 2nd):

Interestingly enough the cat is back with +7 DT2 strength, however remains -2 DT1 strength. Being blacklisted from DT1, means the cat is back on DefaultTrust.

Ah yes of course - I had to remind Foxpup of that very thing a few weeks back and now it's momentarily slipped my mind.

Well, we're not exactly "excluded" from DT1, it simply means we don't vote DT2 in.  (QED by what you just said).  We still have a vote in or out of other DT1's, so we're not exactly "excluded".  In the end we are all "chosen" to be on DT1 from month to month, so it's really out of others hands.

This started as a joke, but some people are actually using it. However, I wasn't planning to pay long-term for many (currently free) domain names. And I don't want to use my creditcard for it (dot.tk doesn't accept crypto).

I received a surprise email (shortened):

Your domain name ISLAUDASTILLONDT.TK needs renewal
Domain name renewals are free of charge and can be done in My Freenom.
Domain renewals can only be done two weeks before a domain name expires.

And indeed it worked, on Freenom renewals, I have renewed the domain for free for another 12 months without exposing my creditcard!
