why do people lose confidence with ethereum?

maybe because ethereum laready replace, i mean many coin has realase with smartcontract paltform even better than ethereum, and ethereum has no max total supply.
but i guess that will give big effect to ethereum.
and we see ethereum still in 2nd position on marketcap, some people say BNB will replace Ethereum but i doubt it.

For me ethereum fixed the best coin, and I am sure sometime ETH price will return like 2017 last year, to eth me a long term investment, because I am sure fore the price of ETH will rise to $1000. Let's hold ETH and buy again at the lowest price.

To be able to reach that point at this time ethereum is no longer easy. The big challenge must be faced by ethereum is getting the hype big enough to reach that point. it is certainly not an easy thing to do.

I don't think it is only Ethereum but most of the altcoins. People rather choose to buy Bitcoin and hold it since its dominance is getting higher and they don't believe that an alt season is coming in the next months.

I still believe in ETH and its long-term future. We must remember that ETH is not simply an ICO-platform. Smart contracts mean far far more than that single early use-case. ETH is being used largely for ICOs at the moment because crypto has yet to break into the mainstream. This mental link of ETH= ICO platform can cause people to be very downbeat about ETHs future. I don't think Ethereum is losing its significance on the market. I believe people still believe in Ethereum. But I must admit Ethereum dropped $100/ETH in the last 2 months. Which making tradesmen to bother about investing in it. Ethereum is $187 presently and I expect soon it will start growing. I am assuming Ethereum to hit $500 within 2020. I believe in ETH and I know it has the ability to hit $500.

why? Ethereum has performed poor all these time. With all of it's possibilities, they are choosing the option of negligence. There's no competitor of Ethereum and would be no for next couple of year but if it wan't to stay in the top position, it should evolve and be more competitive otherwise it would soon be dethroned.
