Bounty hunting is past it's glory days

My experience so far with bounty this year have been bad and it is not as profitable as it used to be. Mainly bounty hunters don't really get good projects that will pay and those that pay just pay a penny which is not worth the time and energy put into the work.
My question is, is it possible to still make a living from bounty or we should just move on from it?

Bounty campaign is almost becoming if not already a free service to project owners, because i do not understand why someone would work for months and paid almost nothing worth his effort. Some cannot even get a amount that is enough to buy a single meal from what they a paid. No wonder some people have left bounty and have started investing or trading, which is much better, because you might get your profit from that within a day.

What I see is the rewards for bounty hunting just came back to its old self which was back in 2015 - 2016. The hype and the bull markets of 2017 caused the rise of bounty campaigning here in Bitcointalk. In fact, the hunt for abusers has also winded down.

Currently bounty campaigns require more effort, and need to be selected more carefully. You will still get a good income if you invest time and research. While profits are not the same as 2017, you will still make money from it.

Well, even in 2017 there were those who could not earn anything in the bounty. I think it depends on the person, and how much he pays this time, there are now good projects that pay well. You just have to do it.

Yes, I see, the fact that 2017 have more scam projects than this time, but there are many bounties with really generous budget, that's why many people remember those glorious days.

Receivng bounties from IEOs is next to impossible therefore ICOs are the only viable option for bounty participants but too many ICOs are effectively scams and fronts to make money for the project team and run.

The days of bounty participation are basically coming to an end.

yes we have passed a glorious time and we have seen lots of project that made huge pump and all the bounty hunters was always happy and bounty rewards was worthy that time.i think binance should allow its IEO to reserve some token allocation for bounty.

The transition will at least be done or it will happen someday, because it is not always we only look for sources of income from one source. So, when we have clogged up with old sources, then at least we must have other sources of income that are more profitable, because all sources of income that we have have at least the best and bad times, therefore we must have many ways that will make the skills we have continue to grow for the better.

Man 2017 was mad I have got salary from bounties equal 5xannual income for few projects (i was lucky) many other was too.
In future next camp-again will be different probably maybe people will need to be more creative will need make vblogs / promo material etc.
I don't see that same path again because crypto market starting mature and more money will go to mainstream media now to get investors.
Most scammy projects probably will land here for sure.
I just like enjoy forum right now where most people like to write when they want not just because they work and must.

The current bounty campaigns are not good and the bounty team don't want to give the bounty rewards in the mentioned time for many reasons. The main problems are the reason I hate to join these bounty campaigns.

You are spot on and it is difficult to put it any better than this. According to my estimates, less than 5% of all the bounties give the participants any significant rewards. The vast majority of them never pay, and many of those who make the payments do so in tokens which can't be immediately converted to BTC or ETH. Only a few noobs are doing bounties right now, as they don't care whether they receive the rewards or not.

The entire bounty system needs to be changed. At least a part (~ 20%) of the bounty reward needs to be paid in either BTC or ETH, to attract more bounty hunters. This pool represents just 0.2% to 0.5% of the total ICO funding and therefore it should not create any issues for the ICO promoters. But if they are refusing to do even this, then I guess there is no point in participating in such bounties.

Don't make bounty hunting your job, I think you should find another job and consider this a side job.
this year is very different from before now bounty hunters are increasing and good bounty projects are decreasing. I think it's time to leave.

Bounty projects are not in good shape as it used to be in late 2017, so it is difficult to make living out of bounties only. Even if someone join many projects, he/she may not earn good profit. Bounty projects currently either delaying payment or paying very less amount and the worst thing is price is many folds down after hitting exchange. I just remember golden days of bounties when I used to get a good amount like $100 even sometime $3000 worth tokens out of these projects, once I received $12000 worth of tokens out of a bounty project for 2 weeks work only. Let hope these golden days will be back.

even if the time can be backwarded on the year 2017 , bounty hunting is still more of a gamble because there are those projects that dont pay and there are those who pay but the price of their coins is not sureball if it will have a good value or not  but lets assume that your lucky and you join a bounty that pays good .  those bounty will still pay at the end of thier contract which basically last 3 month or more  . how would you and your family survive that long  ?

Bounty hunters now don't get rewarded in accordance with their work, not like they used to. There was a time when offered good money but now it don't offer anything rather just is a wastage of your time and effort.

The same reasons for being disheartened apply to other bounty participants too.

If the scam projects were few in number and the genuine projects that scammed bounty managers were few in number then at least it would help restore some credibility but it seems too late for that now.

The returns and success of bounty programs of late has reduced as compared to the past years especially in 2017. This is largely due to the fact that there have been many unsuccessful and scam projects. Very few bounty programs yield profit for participants hence it is very necessary to read and study the project before joining its bounty.

Actually, there are some bounties that have a great potential at the moment, but generally I agree. Those days when you could earn 7k USD from a bounty programme have passed and now we are working for mostly useless tokens.

Although since the inception of this year, things have not really been working as they are expected to as far as crypto is concerned due to so many unknown factors. As a matter of facts, the level in which bitcoin and altcoin prices started this year is very displeasing but majority of bounty hunters still went on hunting regardless of the price. Some bounty projects have been very profitable this year but such campaigns are very scarce. It only takes those who could do intensive research to find them. Things will still get better for bounty. yeah today bounty is worthless join in some campaigns is like gambling right now, i've joined several campaigns and there always cut or delay the distribution.
i dont really like it because we don't get payment as we expected.

You really would conclude that as strong as your argument might be the reality is those numbers are dwindling for both genuine projects, genuine ICOs and for bounties.
