Hey! I want to know how to purchase crypto safe. I don't want hackers to steal my money, and I don't want exchanges to sell my personal data. And is it safe using non custodial exchanges like changelly and shapeshift. Please help!
The best way you can do to buy crypto is buying from your friends, your closest friends, so there is no chance for him to tricks you (although that is not impossible  ). And you could only buy bitcoin, send it into coinomi or Jaxx, and then you can buy altcoin directly, but I don't know how much the fee because I never use that wallet to buy altcoin. By doing that, I think you can pass from the exchange, and you don't have to send any personal data, you can keep your crypto coin in the same wallet with your bitcoin. You don't have to be afraid of the hackers or become paranoid because they cannot steal your money if you can be careful to save your wallet. If you can read another article about how to save your wallet from the hacker, then you can stay calm and no need to worry to them. I think trading should be done directly if this is the first time you trade crypto because there are a lot of risks when you have entered this market and a prior understanding is necessary before starting to trade. Currently there are many secure trading channels on Telegram and it is happening very actively every day. In addition, you can also participate in OTC at leading exchanges such as Okex, Huobi because these are exchanges that support many countries in buying and selling. |

You have two choices: - Purchase bitcoin personally from your acquintance.
- Purchase it in reputable exchanges like Binance or Coinbase and after you received bitcoin then transfer it immediately in a hard wallet.
But since you said you do not want to purchase in exchanges which i wonder why since Binance do not require KYC, then choose first choice. |

The most safest and fastest way how to buy cryptocurrencies is a way when you buy crypto with creditcard. Because international bank transfers are so slow and expensive (many intermediary banks). Or you can buy crypto in a crypto ATM but these ATM are avaiable only in some countries.
That is true using international credit card is easy and fastest way to buy cryptocurrencies, But I suggest search what wallet available in your location(local wallet) and learn it legality to avoid lose or stealing your money. Yeah right, especially credit cards can be used anywhere such as visa and master cards can certainly be used in many countries and without a long time wait, your money will be instantly credited to your account in exchange site and you can buy crypto after that. if you don't have a credit card, and only have a bank account. so I suggest buying on a local exchange site, because they usually have a similar bank account. |

Safest is to buy from a friend of yours. I dont think is possible to buy it safer then that. Second best is to avoid third party, so you use decentralized exchange like BisQ. |

what should be safe?
you? or your funds?
- your funds are very safe if you have them with a reputable service, which will most likely require some id from you.
- if you want to be safe because you are about to do some anonymous deals and you dont want anyone to know that you did them,
but you need crypto that wasnt brought in your name?
you probably want to change from lets say eth to a very anonymous crypto like beam or onion, do a tx and then pay your anon deal.
this way somebody could say you brought this coin, but noone can say what you did with it.
you could also buy mining equipment. you could mine some coins anonymously. very safe for you, your funds, but maybe not investment.

No idea if the original poster will ever return to comment. Basically got 4 pages of replies and he hasn't responded back.
Either way. If you are in the USA just use Coinbase or Gemini which has good security and your KYC info is safe and withdraw your BTC to a hardware wallet like a Ledger.
If you can't afford a ledger then just use an old laptop that you never connect to the internet and run Electrum or Armoury on it with cold storage mode and your coins will never get stolen. There are tons of guides on this forum on how to do this.
