The ecstatic of being a winner is always there without further thinking that if he saved up his betting everyday, he saved up more than he won. We can't blame him, there are many people who prioritize winning at least once than losing everyday. Anyway, $300 is still huge. But with 7months of $2, he is still deficit.

Yeah, and if he calculates his winning and then compares with his losses, I think he still losses. But he does not realize that because he is thinking about what he will do with the win money. Not everyone plans to lose before gambling maybe e you should see that as a point of correction. I particularly hate to lose and regardless what I win, that loss which I consider as failure continue to linger and this might really take me so long before I get over it.

This is the reason I always get myself well prepared before I begin a game. I hate to lose, if peradventure I loses once, I might take me over 10 wins before I get over the previous loss. Money aside, there is probability of winning an amount that would recover the old loss, but that feeling of a loss remains with me, till after some months but it takes some period of time and its usually Months. Eventhough my losses are way bigger than my winnings, yes when I win big I have forgotten my losses. It's not about how big my winnings is but it's passion that's matter most when I win and not minding how much I lose before I win.

I am so perplexed at some of the comments I read here, I really find some things weird. What exactly is the difficulty in letting go of a loss. What is lost is already lost and I believe it should never be remembered, with or without a win.

I think a lot of gamblers that are so bent on holding onto a loss are used to playing more than they can afford, because for someone like me who is always prepared to loses even before it comes, I don’t think it should be a problem. I will definitely be glad when I win a game and obviously never remember I once suffered loss in the same game.

it's not weird to remember each of your loss in gambling while you ended in profit. It's actually just a normal thing in all people's mind, including you. You must be at least even only for once, remembered your losses before and wanna try to recover it. There is no one people like losing their money even though they can afford it

I agree, remembering your losses could help you to prevent losing too much money the next time you play gambling. Losses are your stepping stone to achieve your goal, so always remember it, you don't have to deny that. Your friend was probably happy because he was able to partially win back his losses. If you keep on losing and then win all of a sudden, it is quite normal to be very happy even though if you loss is higher than your total profit. I don't see anything wrong over here.  You friend is actually doing a good thing. Instead of regretting and chasing his loss, he decided to start over again probably.

Exactly. I am very sure I would also act like his friend. I celebrate every win I get without ever looking back at the loses, the truth is if we didn’t win, we would still continue playing, so what is the essence of looking back at the loses?

Those who keep on looking back at loses are gamblers that are always aggressive in playing which leads to addiction and other terrible gambling habits. They are never satisfied with what they win, because they think they have lost lot more and deserves to recover it all and this is not so with gambling. When a loss is done, it should be seen as something that is gone and deductions should not be made from what is won with any hope of recovering.

That's the reason why I don't chase profit when gambling. If you will calculate your losses when you hit the jackpot, you'll just realize that you didn't get any profit at all. I don't usually keep tabs on losses and wins while playing casino games. I used to earlier but that often led to keep up gambling more trying to build up better stats ....and gambling in long run you know which way it goes so it never worked out for me and I made it out of habit now.

I think you should start learning to do that. I was once like you, never paying attention to my loses or keeping records until the day I noticed the money I had kept for something very important was all gone and the only place it could be traced to was gambling. You are human being and you should feel sad about lose its good to keep it in mind so it helps to recover your lose. Remembering your mistake is beneficial in case if you don’t again repeat your mistake which made you lose. Try to recover your lose and for good gambler each mistake gives experience.

This isn't the same for every person though.
For example some people will control themselves and won't continue betting because of the fear to lose more.
Others will be overtaken by greed and keep playing in order to win back what they've lost, probably resulting in bigger loses.

When it's my first time to win a huge amount of money I also don't realize my losses because at the moment when I won I'm delighted that I hit the jackpot like all my hard works pay off. But yes, after calculating all your profits compared to your losses, you will just realize that your losses are much higher than you have won. For me, it's like if you are a win at the very first time/ hit the jackpot, you will just ignore the amount that you lose because our mindset is like we are unlocking a new achievement of our life. But sooner after winning again and again (habituated in winning), you will come up to the point that you will calculate your losses to your profits or in short we gain experience and become mature to that kind of nature.

At least when a win big can recover all previous losses and add some profit. It's useless when winning doesn't count how much money has been lost, it's the same as losing.

Quite right for me I guess, it sometimes means that winning is also equals on getting losses on a straight time. And besides no one can guarantee that the odds of having the pot might get your losses, sometimes the pot is quite small comoared to everyone's loses so catching it up won't be necessary.

That's how we think, we don't usually remember anymore our past loses, we enjoy the moment because in gambling we don't win most of the time.
We cannot treat it like a business where we have income and expense and get the gross profit or loss, this is gambling where from the start we know it's not easy to way, it's just easy to play and we enjoy it but in reality our chances is lower compared to the gambling sites we are playing, so a win is a blessing that we have to enjoy.
