obviously! it has been growing for 10+ years starting from the day it was created and we still have a long way to go too.

mass adoption of altcoins?
not at all. it has not even started adoption, let alone mass adoption because none of them have yet focused on utilities and usability so far.

mass adoption of the technology?
i wouldn't call it "mass" adoption but there is a lot of hype going on specially with Facebook creating its own shitcoin soon. there certainly is a lot of other companies, banks and even countries government trying to adopt the technology.

if we comparing with 10 years ago, i think mass adoption on cryptocurrency is growing buddy,,
especially on blockhain, because a lot of governments and financial company interested with this tech and maybe already used this tech buddy

Mass adoption is definitely growing, no doubt about that. I always check verified news to see what's going on in the Blockchain world and it's always good to see headlines of big companies accepting crypto or BTC as their mode of payment. Even small restaurants are doing it and some countries are already seeing crypto as a solution.

A decade isn't that much wrong to take off for mass adoption but the effect that we can for bitcoin right now. If you will tell someone if he wants to have bitcoin which is worth ten thousand dollars, who will reject?

But if you ask them if they are willing to buy it and invest on it, they will start to avoid you. For the past years, that's the attitude of most people that doesn't really see the potential and importance of bitcoin. Right now, it can't be denied anymore on how far that it has been. Adoption has increased a lot and I'd like to see what happens few years from now.

We can say there is has been an increase in mass adoption over the years. The rate at which people research about bitcoin is on the rise and keep rising. Despite all the bad waters that are constantly thrown at the bitcoin by the government and banks, it yet attracts more investors.

Just to add to this user's contribution, bitcoin have recorded massive success over the past 10 decade in so many ways. The technology itself been "blockchain" have also recorded some success although the altcoin industry is still far behind. Some of the success bitcoin has recorded includes;

• We now have over 5,400+ Bitcoin Automatic teller machine [ATM] worldwide, making it easier to convert your fiat to bitcoin and bitcoin to cash.
  
• More and more merchant and business operators all over the globe are welcoming the currency by offering it as a payment option to their customers.
• Big firms and companies are also showing positive signs towards the development and adoption of the currency. Example samsung cryptocurrency smartphone
• The government of some countries have also welcomed the currency making it a official payment option for tax charge etc
• The mainstream media cover has also exploded over the years, bringing the currency to the attention of millions of users resulting to the development of new features like future contract trading, bonds and proposal of ETF etc

All those i highlighted above weren't available 10yeara ago but due to the success story of bitcoin these things can now be associated with bitcoin. The currency is growing stronger everyday and hopefully in 10 and more years to come the currency would still be very active and running.

Yes many businesses are coming up from cryptocurrency, I wouldn't say just bitcoin even though bitcoin is the head of it. For example, many companies and projects have gone into bitcoin ATM, cards too. These are signs to know a project that is well accommodated by the society because of its benefits.

Not only because of that, most of it is because they believe that bitcoin has a great potential and it can give them amazing future but if you are going to analyze it has little improvements. It doesn't mean that its bad and its not good also, the adoption also depends on people who has some background knowledge about it.

If you are comparing with since the creation of crypto date and it keeps growing right not even more but if you are trying to compare this time with end of 2017 and the adoption is going down. But this time the adoption is much more focussed on the bitcoin rather than altcoin.
Altcoin just gets a little demand right now and it has proven with the bitcoin dominance in the coinmarketcap.
But for some companies are still active in developing their product and the adoption still goes smoothly.

You can't compare it with when it is only starting because for sure when it is only starting only few will really adopt onto it. With 10 years of existence no wonder how the people are adapting it, mass adoption is far-fetched AFAIK.

We have a very good adoption going on but only for Bitcoin and the top 7 coins in the market, Bitcoin is now over 70% dominance, people should just concentrate on the top coins in the market, but Cryptocurrency has a wide spectrum, we need more coins that will be adopted not only 7 coins in the market.

I have always said in some of the posts if we are going to have massive adoption it should with Bitcoin because it is the symbol of Cryptocurrency.

This is not a quick process. People have just begun to learn about cryptocurrencies and for many they are associated with speculative interest and scammers, and not as a means of payment. I think that another 5 years will pass before cryptocurrencies begin to be more widely used as a means of payment in everyday life.
