question about brother reputation, he died and left me info

my brother died recently.and i got all his old files and information for his different accounts, i know he used this forum a lot, is it okay with the rules here if i start using his forum account here myself?

Sorry to hear that. Unless you are willing to dox yourself so people can see for sure this is true, I would suggest just using the account and not making an issue of it. If you can't prove it then the accounts reputation will be trashed as soon as you ID it because people will assume it is hacked.

I would suggest creating a new account - you are not your brother and you should not pretend to have the same like/relationships/habits he had.  Eventually you may be caught and then all the time you and your deceased brother spent here would be wasted.

Sorry about what you are going through after that loss.

Personally i would just encourage you to let go off your late brother's account and then create your own reputation especially if you are planning to do business here because even if you use your late brother's account, soon or later, people are going to realize that the account changed hands and the DT members will leave negative feedback which will still render the account useless.

Just build from scratch if you can, I know it's hard but it's worth it

If the guy intended to use the account for nefarious reasons you wagging your finger at him and using this as an opportunity to start drama with me won't do anything but sooth your OCD. There is nothing inherently illicit about using a profile you didn't create as long as you are not using it to defraud people. If his intent was to defraud do you really believe he needs advice on how to do so? All I am doing is making his choice clear. Either prove your story is legit with documents or just quietly and honorably use the account. Your poopooing and hypocritical moralizing won't change the situation.

Sorry for your brother, hope he is fine in heaven. You might use your brother account if you not involved with any financial activity on the forum like signature campaign, take loan and so on. Forum itself allow account sell so I don't think forum will prevent you for using your brother account. If your intention only participate on the discussion the feel free to use account. If your intention is use brother account for reputation then don't use it and create your own account. You should build your own reputation. If you attempt in any financial activity here you will be red tagged if cought in case. Because you will not able to prove account ownership by posting behaviour even all the information with you about your brother's account.


So my personal suggestion is, use your brother's account just for discussion, and create your own account and build your own reputation. Don't share merit each other to avoid red tag and drama. It's just my own thoughts, perhaps other DT members wouldn't agree with me and they have their own opinion.

Any clues on who your brother was?  Personally, I am of the opinion that the account had changed hands and others would not be doing transactions with who the think they are transacting with.

I won't recommend you give him that advise. OP, "prevention  is better than cure". The moment you start using the account any previous reputation of that account becomes invalid. It's far better to abstained from destroying what your brother (may his soul rest in peace) have investing timeless amount of time and dedication to built out of your own greediness.

Sure you might promise yourself not to abuse any system with the account but life can happen at any moment. Your emotions might cloud your judgement and you go meriting yourselves or trusting yourself just to have advantage over other for some privileges like signature slots etc. Create your own account and build your own reputation.

Honor your brothers death and let his reputation remain untouched. You could read back his posts and reminisce without changing the identity of his account completely. Establish your own account on the forum and live your own legacy while keeping your brothers.

Forum accounts do not mean the rank of the account but the confidence and ideas that represent who uses that account.
In other words: If you want to use it to gain profit, campaign managers will recognize the difference.
if you have the same abilities as your brother, ranking up is easy. You need a few time.

I think this is something most people forget to do, they should keep files of all their various accounts so they can be accessed by their family members if they die.  Maybe they want to read about what you were up to and get to know you better if they didn't have enough time to spend with you before.
