Make's total sense to me.  Clean blocks, still in their output address maybe worth far more in the future as their will be zero taint or transaction history associated with them.

too bad coinjoin does the same thing without the need to mine a block.

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Perhaps he is hedging against the highly unlikely possibility that some sort of coin tracking is used in the future. In that case the "taint' of a coin may change it's value compared to a "clean" coin. But again, almost no one wants this and I can't see it happening.

No one here wants to see it happen, doesn't mean it can't happen.  Besides, imagine in 50 or 100 years if you have a block, still in its output address.  Wouldn't you imagine there would be some premium to that?

If in the distant future, bitcoins are the main monetary system in use, all coins have been cycled through the system many times, have histories, tains, whatever... It would be like uncirculated currency.  That is at times worth a premium.

Plus, it's just cool.  I think unopened blocks are cooler, personally.  Therefore there is some premium.  Ipso Facto.

How many blocks did you buy, op? Curious how much these can go for now as well as the potential.

3 times the value you say? Well, have a look at these from BTCC. Freshly mined blocks of 25+ BTC, that are for sale for 31 BTC each. Fresh, untainted bitcoins, with no transaction history. I am able to obtain these at a small discount from the store price. Interested? Give me a shout.

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!
